Hide The Marijuana, The US Army Is Coming!
Army of United States helicopters hovers at the top of us at our house over at the swimming pool's deck more than once in Belfry, Ky. It is unusual as we rarely have any helicopters or planes flying over us and more so there aren't any Army bases nearby that stores helicopters or planes. So it's a unusual action over here. The reason of that is they came over on a mission to look for marijuana in another neighborhood of us in Burnwell, Ky as they arrested someone and that someone admitted it himself.
Here's the news you can read about it:

Why Are 96,000,000 Black Balls on This Reservoir?
I took a boat through 96 million black plastic balls on the Los Angeles reservoir to find out why they're there. The first time I heard about shade balls the claim was they reduce evaporation. But it turns out this isn't the reason they were introduced.
Huge thanks to LADWP for arranging this special tour for me. Next time let's put the GoPro on the submersible!
The balls are made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) which is less dense than water so they float on the surface of the reservoir even if they break apart. They are 10cm (4 inches) in diameter and contain about 210ml of water. So the main reason they are on the reservoir is to block sunlight from entering the water and triggering a chemical reaction that turns harmless bromide into carcinogenic bromate. This effect occurs with prolonged exposure to bromate so regulators insist that levels be kept below 10 microgram per liter on average over a 12 month period.

Betty's Trip to Shakespeare and Company with Family
Betty, her husband (Rick), and their daughter (Chelsea) have lunch at Shakespeare and Company, a restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky. This chain of restaurants originated in Dubai, where there are a few of them. This is the only Shakespeare and Company restaurant in the United States.
We had a terrific meal, and I will be making something from the meal in the next week or so for you. I hope you enjoy our trip! --Betty :)

Floyd County Real Estate - Tazwell Hollandsworth Dream Property
The Tazwell Hollandsworth Property in Floyd County Virginia is one of those unique pieces of real estate that only comes along once in a life time, and is truly something that has to be seen to be believed.
At just over 300 Acres, once you set foot on the property it is ALL YOURS. You would never have to see another person again unless you wanted to. A mile and a half long graveled road leads you to the home in the middle of the property. From there you can enjoy the big three, privacy, water, and views, in a setting where you wouldn't even know that there were any other people in the world.
It has already been divided into tracts ranging from 12 to 50 acres, and this division has already been approved by the Floyd County Planning Commission. If someone wanted to, it would be very easy to sell or gift these tracts to friends or family, knowing that each tract maintains complete privacy. Or, you could enjoy the property all by yourself.
There is only one entrance that a vehicle can access this property from, which is gated. This assures your privacy from unwanted visitors. It has also been paved very recently, and is a VDOT approved commercial entrance.
From here we travel along the mile and a half gravel road, which is nice enough that a sports car as low to the ground as a viper or corvette could easy travel on.
While this property is tucked away in the mountains and offers complete privacy, it also allows you the convenience of the outside world, if you choose. It is located in the county of Floyd, a small one stop light county that is big on culture. It features the Old Country Store, where people from all around the world flow out into the streets every Friday night to listen to old timey fiddle music. Floyd is also host to the nationally renowned FloydFest music festival. If you want to go out on a beautiful drive, then the BlueRidge Parkway runs through the county. Directly off of the parkway are local wineries such as the state renowned Chateau Morrisette, which hosts Jazz festivals bi-weekly during the warmer 6 months of the year.
This property is also less than an hour away from Virginia Tech, a top research university, who I also hear has a pretty good football team. And if the need arises, a major hospital in Radford is only 40 minutes away. Finally, if you did decide to travel elsewhere, both Interstate 81 and Interstate 77 are less than 40 minutes away.
There are many, many possible uses for this property. It could be called an upscale hunting preserve, with plenty of deer, turkey, and an abundance of other wildlife. In fact, it was on this property that I shot my first buck when I was a boy.
This property could also be used for people who want to live off the land and off the grid. For anyone interested in sustainable living, this would be the perfect property to be able to raise all of your own food, with gardens, orchards, and plenty of cleared fields for cattle, goats, or other livestock.
This property would also appeal to the survivalists out there, in case things got a little crazy out there, and having this property to go to would be of great piece of mind in case, well, it hits the fan. You could even build a runway here along the ridge.
Horse lovers (and their horses) would also love the Tazwell Hollandsworth property. Just imagine the experience you and your horses would have exploring this property.
It could also be used for hosting large events, such as music festivals, with all the privacy you could want, and the capacity to handle large numbers of people.
And finally, anyone with a group of families who wants a place for communal living would find this to be an optimal location. This is especially true since the property has already been divided into 12 tracts, each with complete privacy from the others, and with perfect building spots. You would have to look very hard to find another property that could accommodate so many families in such a perfect environment.
Or, it could just be your own private paradise, all to yourself. With the property of your dreams, you could build the perfect house for you, and enjoy the wonders of this property for a lifetime.

The US economy has been expanding wildly for two centuries. Are we witnessing the end of growth? Economist Robert Gordon lays out 4 reasons US growth may be slowing, detailing factors like epidemic debt and growing inequality, which could move the US into a period of stasis we can't innovate our way out of. The video conferencing session between the two schools was conducted between students of Gyan Mandir Public School (Delhi, India) and Adamjee Model School (Karachi, Pakistan). The session was coordinated by Ms Anju Anand and Ms Devika Mittal from Indian side and Mr Usama Palla and Ms Suraya Islam from Pakistan. We're grateful they let us drop by!
The British tasked Cyril Radcliffe with the job of drawing a line to separate Punjab and Bengal provinces from India into East and West Pakistan. Muslims and Hindus weren’t the only ones being separated from each other. Sikhs and people from other faiths were affected as well.
A Sikh pilgrimage was divided because of the new border, Punjabi people of all faiths were separated from each other, and a culture was ultimately divided.
This Vox Borders episode looks at how the Radcliffe line changed Punjab and how communities are affected now.

Lyrics:
Song, Song of the south
Sweet potato pie, and I shut my mouth
Gone, gone with the wind
There aint no body looking back again
Cotton on roadside, cotton on the ditch
We all picked the cotton but we never got rich
Daddy was a veteren, a southern democrat
They oughta get rich man to vote like that singing
Song song of the south
Sweet potato pie, and i shut my mouth
Gone gone with the wind
There aint no body looking back again
