Pasar Senggol, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia
The night market in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, known as Pasar Senggol is an amazing place to eat a range of different Indonesian Balinese street food!
One evening, we headed over to the market at about 5 pm to start eating, and in this video I’ll show you everything I ate on this Balinese street food tour.
Babi guling - Babi guling, or Balinese style roast pig, is one of the ultimate things you have to eat, especially if you enjoy pork, when you’re in Bali. I started the street food tour off with a plate of babi guling. I was alright, but could have been better had it been hot and fresher.
30,000 IDR ($2.20) per plate
Sweets - Along with full meals, you’ll find an abundance of Indonesian street food snacks and desserts. Klepon was my favorite.
1,000 IDR ($0.7) per box
Nasi ayam campur - This stall served one of the best single plates of food I had in Bali, ayam betutu and some mixed chicken all over a plate of rice with all the toppings and mixes. The food was sensational, packed with flavor.
25,000 IDR ($1.84)
Tipat cantok - Similar to another common Indonesian street food called gado gado, tipat cantok includes rice cakes and bean sprouts in a peanut sauce. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed how you could watch her making it in front of you.
7,000 IDR ($0.51)
Serombotan - Finally, to end this Indonesian street food tour in Bali, I had a serving of something called serombotan, a delicious mixture of vegetables and coconut and shrimp paste. It was surprisingly very good and flavorful.
5,000 IDR ($0.37)

Bali is one of the most evocative and popular tourist islands of the entire Indonesian archipelago. A visit here sparks the senses. As soon as you arrive, the intoxicating fragrance of incense and clove oil hangs in the thick tropical air. Peanuts sizzle at roadside stalls, petal-strewn offerings smolder on busy sidewalks, and traditional gamelan music jangles against the buzz of mopeds. Despite the clamor and chaos of the main tourist areas, the island is rich in natural beauty, with attractions for every kind of traveler. Surfers come for the legendary swells, hikers can trek up jungly volcanic peaks and to misty waterfalls, and cyclists can bike through lush landscapes bristling with rice terraces and traditional villages.
1 Pura Tanah Lot
About 20 kilometers northwest of Kuta, Pura Tanah Lot (Pura means temple in Balinese) is one of Bali's most iconic temples thanks to its spectacular seaside setting on a rocky islet surrounded by crashing waves. For the Balinese people, it is one of the most sacred of all the island's sea temples. (The largest and holiest Hindu temple in Bali is Pura Besakih, but recently local hagglers have been harassing visitors.) Every evening, throngs of tourists from Kuta, Legian, and Sanur find their way through a labyrinth of lanes lined by souvenir sellers to watch the sun setting behind the temple.
2 Mount Batur
Every day in Bali's predawn darkness, hundreds of visitors begin the trek up the 1,700-meter summit of Mount Batur to watch the sun rise above the lush mosaic of mist-shrouded mountains and the caldera far below. This sacred active volcano lies in Kintamani District in Bali's central highlands, about an hour's drive from Ubud, and the hike to the summit to watch the sunrise has long graced the list of top things to do in Bali.
3 Uluwatu Temple
Presiding over plunging sea cliffs above one of Bali's best surf spots, Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) is one of the island's most famous temples, thanks to its magnificent clifftop setting. In Balinese, Ulu means tip or land's end and Watu means rock, a fitting name for the location of the temple on the Bukit Peninsula along the island's southwestern tip. Like Pura Tanah Lot, sunset is the best time to visit, when the sky and sea glow in the late afternoon light.
7 Waterbom Bali
Waterbom Bali is an action-packed waterpark, in the heart of Kuta, with something for every member of the family. Kids can splash in the swimming pools; drift down the Lazy River; or zoom down one of the many twisting water slides and rides, with names like the Python, Green Viper, and Super Bowl. Moms and dads can relax with a reflexology session, manicure or pedicure, or fish spa therapy. Restaurants and cafes cater to a range of different diets, and the grounds are landscaped with large, shady trees and beautiful tropical gardens, making this a refreshing respite from the heat on a hot tropical day.

8 Pura Ulun Danu Bratan
On a small island along the western shore of Lake Bratan, in the cool highlands of central Bali, the 17th-century Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is one of Bali's most picturesque temple complexes. Set against the imposing backdrop of Gunung Bratan, the thatched temples reflect on the lake, and when the water levels rise, they seem to float on its surface. Lake Bratan is one of Bali's main sources of irrigation and drinking water, and the temple complex is dedicated to Dewi Danu, goddess of the sea and lakes.

The Ultimate Indonesian Street Food Tour at Gianyar Night Market in Bali
Pasar Senggol, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia
This amazing night market in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, known as Pasar Senggol is a nice place to spend the night and eat a variety of different Indonesian Balinese street food!
We headed to the night market at 6pm and in this video, we will show you everything we ate on the Balinese street food tour.
The Balinese suckling pig or Babi guling, is one of the things you have to eat if visiting the market, especially if you are a pork lover like us. We started out the street food tour with a plate of babi guling. It was really nice but Sai wasn't really a fan of all the organs that comes with the dish. I asked for my plate to be mostly pork without the random body parts lol.
After the babi guling we ate a variety of desserts with some being really nice and the others somewhat strange tasting.
WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE GILI ISLANDS TRAVEL VIDEO - DREAM BIGGER MUCH SOONER!

6 Best Night Markets in Bali
6 Best Night Markets in Bali
Sanur Night Market (Pasar Malam Sindu)
The Sanur night market, known as Pasar Malam Sindu, is in fact the nightly transformation of the traditional Sindu market where most of the locals and Sanur residents source their daily necesseties, ritual items, and morning groceries. By night, usually starting around 18:00, it provides a sensory experience with its local food stalls opening up and meals on wheels rolling in before cooking up anything from lamb satay to fried rice at very local prices – great for budget travellers. The market’s large parking area serves as the main grounds for the night market, where you can freely roam and wander around the smoking grills and frying woks for a very exotic Balinese experience. A serving of chicken satay with 10 sticks and a plate of rice is merely between IDR 15,000 and 20,000, while a similar serving with lamb and a drink can be IDR 25,000-30,000.
Gianyar Night Market
The Gianyar Night Market is one of the main evening haunts for hungry locals and international visitors coming from and staying at the main resorts in Ubud. The market is located on Gianyar town’s Jalan Ngurah Rai. Most foreign visitors call it a hidden gem, with a bustling market scene full of warungs and smaller stalls selling everything from live pets to all sorts of cuisine at cheap prices, clothing items and fashion accessories and kids stuff. The market is hard to miss and can be slightly chaotic with the traffic and hordes of scooters parked on one side of the road. The night scene is brilliant with the many fluorescent lamps at each stall. Although busier during the weekends, you visit any day of the week. A local food haven on its own, you can choose from the ubiquitous ‘babi guling’, as well as roast chicken, ‘bakso’ meat ball soup, and various desserts.
Kuta Art Market
Kuta Art Market is a small beachside bazaar-like complex where you can find unique Bali souvenirs and handcraft items, and where you can put your bargaining skills to the test. The compact marketplace is easily located at the end of the Jalan Bakungsari one-way thoroughfare, adjacent to the Kuta Sidewalk and just before Jalan Kartika Plaza. Locally referred to as Pasar Seni Desa Adat Kuta or the ‘Art Market of the Kuta Traditional Village’, the shopping place comprises six main shop-houses and a long building with many different stalls. The shops sell a wide range of items and Bali curios, such as Bali surfboard and guitar-shaped fridge magnets, key chains, beer holders, placemats, faux leather shoes and sandals, Bali print T-shirts and colourful sarongs and fabrics. A great stopover if you are strolling on the Kuta beach footpaths.
Garlic Lane
Garlic Lane is a shopping street in Legian that's close to a night market scene: you can stroll along, browse from one closely-knit art shop to another, bargain hard at most and buy some handicrafts to spruce up your living room, or gifts for the folks back home. It's conveniently out-of-the-way and narrow, off Legian’s busier main streets. Along its 200-metre length, you can find a good variety ranging from DVDs, cheap sunglasses and surfwear.
Taman Sari Market
The Taman Sari Market, locally referred to as 'Pasar Taman Sari', is one of very few local markets of its kind that can be found around the Seminyak area. A unique deviation from the predominantly upscale boutique shopping and world-class dining scenes of Seminyak, this local market serves as an ideal stopover for those looking for fresh tropical fruits at bargain prices and within easy reach of the region's villas and resorts. The market takes on a local night market scene by sunset.
Kreneng Night Market
Pasar Kreneng Night Market and the nearby Asoka Market are difficult to differentiate due to their close proximity with each other, and are often referred to collectively as simply ‘Pasar Kreneng’. They form one of the Denpasar city’s largest traditional markets, after Badung Market, which is only 1.8km to the west. Well over a thousand vendors sell all sorts of items – most of which will tempt your curiosity more than your wallet, but popular items include batik cloths, traditional kitchen utensils, farming tools to groceries. Its transformation into the famous night market scene starts in the late afternoon around 16:00, when food stalls and carts wheel in. The food stalls at the southern border of the market grounds are open during the day and late into the night, comprising the delicious and Bali-famous dish of ‘nasi babi guling’.

FAQ:
How much it may cost for return flight from Dhaka to Bali?
- Mostly near around 30 thousand per head for return air. Some time discount happens (we got discount from Malindo Air & return cost was only 22k that time).
How much travel may cost in Bali per day?
- Per Day Hotels you will get within BDT 1500 to 2000 (20 USD) for 2 person 1 room. Food per day per head may cost 1000 BDT (10 USD). Other per day per head may cost 1000 BDT too (local trip transport, entrance or other ticket etc.). So, in average, better you keep per day expense 4000 BDT (around 50 USD). It will be enough. Now you plan, how many days you want to stay in Bali/Gili.
AIR
We visited Bali by getting a discount in Malindo Air @ 22k BDT per head return air. Offer not valid now. A transit was there in Kuala Lumpur.
HOTEL
You must choose a hotel in Kuta Square @ Bali. We always prefer Agoda for Hotel Booking:
I was there for 10 days and I tried different hotels. All booked by Agoda using credit card from BD. Take one room for 2 person only. Here is my ranking for my hotels:
1. Suris Boutique Hotel (Nice Pool View Room, Free Buffet Breakfast, Nice Swimming Pool, But 5min Walking Distance from Kuta Sea Beach) @ 2000+ BDT Per Day:
Suris Hotel, Kuta Square, Bali @ Agoda:
2. Hotel Karthi (Big Pool, 2min Walk to Kuta Sea Beach, Free Buffet Breakfast, General Room) @ 2000 BDT
Book Hotel Karthi, Kuta Square, Bali @ Agoda:
3. The Oasis Kuta Hotel (Big Pool, Nice Room, 2min Walk to Kuta Sea Beach, Narrow Entrance) @ 2000 BDT
The Oasis Kuta Hotel, Kuta Square, Bali @ Agoda:
SIGHT SEEING
Book a car from your hotel (more safe) or from a car service provider. Maximum 2 half days (9am to 4pm) car trip is enough to cover all. must visit:
Tegenungan Water Fall (Keep Swimming Dresses with you, nice place to enjoy water fall)
Mount Batur Volcano (Have a Mango Drink There @ 200 BDT Only, Buffet Lunch is expensive there)
Ubud Rice Field (Do Lunch Here, It's Cheap & Great View too)
Uluwatu Temple (Amazing Sea & Hill View) & Must Try Nearest
Padang Padang Hidden Sea Beach too. You may swimm there in clear water.
FOODS
Try international chain foods like KFC/McD/Burger King/A&W etc. Cheap enough. Per Head may cost 300 BDT per meal. Mostly halal.
Very expensive, if you are planning Indian Foods (available near Kuta Square). Per Head may cost 500 to 800 BDT per meal.
GILI ISLAND
Our BTF team was in Bali for only 5 days. Within this time, stay Gili for one day only (go today morning, come back tomm morning). That will be fine. Book fast boat including up down transport from hotel to port (it is in far). Must book return fast boat ticket all together. Talk to your hotel (more safe) or try outside to book. Foods are cheap in Gili. Must try night market & sea food. It is a small island, no cars, only horse ride and by-cycles. Try it. Do not miss to hire a group boat ride to enjoy under water activities (make sure life jacket and safety). You may live in any part of the island as it is small. Hotel prices are same like Bali. I was in a nice banglow Bale Sasak with a swimming pool & free breakfast, all only @ 1500 BDT.
Bale Sasak, Lombok, Gili Indonesia @ Agoda:
SHOPPING
Buy from local shops. Cheap. Other shopping malls are expensive. Must visit 3 shopping malls near Kuta Square:
- Discovery Mall (Visit Both Side, Road Side & Sea Beach Side, In & Out. 5min Walk from Kuta Square)
- BeachWalk Shopping Mall (Excellent Market to Visit & To Watch Cinema)
- Lippo Mall (Cheap Foods at underground, Enjoy Cinema)
@ Afternoon, there are some nice beach side cafe with pool in Kuta Sea Beach, enjoy fresh juice there (@About 200 BDT) with your family. For any more query, feel free to ask. Check our all Bali videos for more detail.

BEST ZOO IN THE WORLD - THE BALI ZOO, INDONESIA WITH KIDS
We went to the Bali Zoo - gave it a shot. I'm not so into zoo's in general since they are undeniably inhumane. People told me the Bali zoo was more open and friendly and that animals were well taken care of and that it was mostly animals indigenous to Indonesia anyway.
Having been to the Monkey Forrest which is open and clearly humane and in favor of the animals, I thought we would give it a try.
We LOVED the Bali Zoo - best zoo experience of my life bar none.
