Big Brook Dam

Big Brook Dam - Western Australia

A very popular recreation area set in the forests of the south west close to Pemberton. A sandy beach provides an excellent swimming spot and picnic facilities make Big Brook a major draw card for locals and tourists alike. There is a campsite located near by at Big Brook Arboretum which is suitable for tents, caravans and camper trailers. Fees are collected for camping.

A 4km walk trail around the dam is suitable for wheelchairs and bicycles. The dam is also stocked with trout (yes we have seen them with our own eyes) but a freshwater fishing license is required if you want to try and catch them. Marron can also be caught in season and this requires a separate license.

In our travels around Australia, this campground is definitely top 5! In the small WA town of Pemberton, set amongst karri trees it is a must see when travelling southwest WA!

Dam Repair Water Treatment Solution - PR Power Australia

A water treatment project was carried out by a civil engineering company on behalf of the Water Corporation, Western Australia. The company based in Perth supply services to the construction industry, as well as the mining industry.
Their goal by involving PR Power’s water treatment solutions was to treat high pH concrete cutting wash water and dredge silt from behind the spillway of the reservoir at Big Brook Dam in Pemberton.
The result was clean, clear pH neutral water to be discharged to the watercourse and the waste sludge to be collected in the HB60 hoppers for disposal later.

Catching a sneaky hiding trout using unorthodox tactics of trying to snare it lure hooks as it was not feeding after being seen.
The Trout was a lovely Female at 42cm.

Caught thirty redfin ranging from 20cm into the high 40's

Short weekend trip down to Pemberton, to checkout Calcup hill and warren river. Almost rolled the patrol fortunately we had the right gear and recovered the vehicle properly with no damage done.
