World's Highest Swimming Pool - 57th Floor of Sands Marina Bay Hotel
Floating in the sky high above the streets of Singapore is a swimming pool with the best view of the city. On this episode, we bring you the world’s highest swimming pool.
Located at Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore is an infinity pool on the 57th story. Opened in 2010 on June 23rd and 24th as a two day celebration, this pool is park of the skypark which sits 650 feet or 198 meters above ground. At a cost of 8 billion dollars, this hotel is the most expensive stand alone integrated resort property ever constructed. It is also one of the top 40 largest hotels in the world.
The hotel has 55 floors with 2561 rooms, an enormous convention centre that can accomodate 45,000 people, the world’s largest atrium casino with 600 card tables and 2500 slot machines, crystal pavilions, art science exhibits, 2 theatres, museums, and a mall.
The pool sits atop the world’s largest cantilevered platform which overhangs the north tower by 220 feet or 67 meters. The entire 3 acre rooftop park has a capacity of 3900 people complete with gardens and jogging path.
The skypark was constructed off site in 14 prefabricated steel sections then assembled on top of the tower. There are four movement joints beneath the main pools which allow for natural movement of the towers up to 20 inches or half a meter. Custom installed jack legs were installed to make fine tune adjustments as the building settles into the ground and prevents the pool from breaking.
Constructing the pool required 422,000 pounds or 191,000 kg of stainless steel which allows it to hold 376,000 US gallons or 1,425 cubic meters of water. Around the pool is a legion of lounge chairs and palm trees, there are also lounge chairs in the water. While only available to the hotel customers, this lush green skypark and rooftop pool has the best views of Singapore. At night time one can view Marina Bay’s sustainable light festival light show from the comfort of the pool or lounge chair. The light show lights up the sky and the water below as bubble machines create a canvas for the projectors to cast their images on. This 15 minute show is a spectacle the draws in many every night it's on.
Is this fancy hotel with the highest swimming pool a must see, let us know in the comments down below.

Gong Cha was in the news not too long ago.
Crowds form as Gong Cha returns to Singapore. Channel News Asia -
Here is an extract of the article:
SINGAPORE: Excitement was high for bubble tea chain Gong Cha’s return to Singapore after a hiatus of close to six months. Even before the official opening of its new flagship outlet at SingPost Centre, a line had already formed, with some people queuing overnight.
....
BRINGING THE BRAND BACK – EVEN BETTER THAN BEFORE
Gong Cha left Singapore in June after its previous master franchisee RTG Holdings decided to cease operations here. All Gong Cha outlets were replaced with its own bubble tea brand, LiHO. However, Royal Tea Taiwan - the company behind the Gong Cha brand - announced in August that the chain would return to Singapore under a new master franchisee, Gong Cha (Singapore). It is now under the leadership of Mr Kang Puay Seng, who is a veteran in the food and beverage (F&B) sector and the co-founder and former managing director of Mr Bean food and beverage chain.
Well, this outlet had no queue!
Souvenirs at Mustafa Center, Singapore!
Known for selling varieties of stuffs, I bought myself the cheapest phone, Singapore has to offer that functions very well, because I can't avail their sim since my phone is locked with Globe. It's hard when you don't have a connection like figuring out the bus stops or if ever I get lost or want to book a grab instead, so its really convenient to have a connection at least and communicate.
Part 1/2 , Part 2 will be posted tomorrow!
