This video is just expressing the use of my DJI Phantom 3. So please excuse the poor camera handling.
Thanks for watching.
Big Desert Wilderness 4WD
From Kaniva we headed through Telopea Downs to Red Bluff (2hrs) and camped the night before taking the centre trek to Cox's Windmill & Scorpion Springs (2hrs) in Ngkaret National Park, Then back down the Border Track to Kaniva (5hrs)
Scorpion Springs was a blaze of purple and yellow, (mid Oct) this clip doesn't really do it justice. We saw some great walks & camp grounds in Scorpion Springs Conservation Park. SA has done a fantastic job of upgrading these facilities and signage.
Best time to visit in Apr through to Oct.
Make sure you have all the right 4WD / camping gear. Travel with another 4WD vehicle and tie down all supplies. There is no mobile phone coverage.
Explore Little Desert National Park in Regional Victoria | Video Review - Tour the World TV
Welcome to The Big Bus tour and travel guide's YouTube channel.
In this segment from the Tour the World travel TV series, we join a three day Naturewise Eco Escape from Conservation Volunteers in the Little Desert National Park in northwest Victoria.
For this tour we join Conservation Volunteers and Parks Victoria to assist with important research through remote camera monitoring and other hands-on conservation activities in the national park. Learn about the endangered Mallefowl recovery program and encounter a range of native wildlife species held at the Little Desert Sanctuary for research purposes, including Sugar Gliders, Brush-tailed Bettongs and Bush-stone Curlews. It's a fascinating experience.

Thompson Peak - Big Desert NP
Made a quick video comprising of some footage from my GoPro, DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone and my iPhone 5. This was the climb to the lookout point on top of Thompson Peak.
Malleefowl in Victoria's Big Desert
Malleefowl, a beautiful & endangered species, captured on my motion detection cameras deployed to survey predators in Victoria's Big Desert. Consistent with the habitat preferences of the species, these two were snapped in an area of long unburnt mallee.
The presence of endangered & habitat specific species, should serve as a reminder of the importance of conserving natural areas and appropriately managing processes such as fire in the mallee region. If we are to conserve species like malleefowl, it is also vital that we understand how processes like fire & predation interact, a key knowledge gap that likely limits our ability to manage fire for biodiversity conservation.
My research hopes to bridge this knowledge gap by surveying predators --wild dogs, foxes & cats-- in areas of varying fire histories throughout the Big Desert Wilderness Park.

Off The Grid Cabin In New Zealand Paradise
Hidden amongst the spectacular mountain ranges of the Kahurangi National park of New Zealand, this beautiful off-the-grid cabin sits in paradise.

Affectionally titled the Honeywell Hut, after it's builder Jack Honeywell, the off the grid cabin, although relatively new, looks as though it could have sat on the land for a hundred years.
Being situated on such a remote property, the cabin has to be completely off the grid, collecting it's own water and generating power though a small solar system.
Be sure to watch to the end of the video for a beautiful spoken word poem from Richard about the Baton Valley. To learn more about their horse trekking business, you can visit their website here:
