20 things to do in Belfast Travel Guide | Top Attractions Travel Video Transcript:
Well hello from Northern Ireland. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights.
The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city.
Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship.
The SS Nomadic was a steamship built as a tender to the RMS Titanic. It was her job to ferry passengers, baggage, and supplies to and from the shore.
Next up we are heading inside St George's Market, which we've been told is more than just a farmer's market. Apparently, aside from buying food there you can catch some live shows, go shopping for vintage items, jewelry. So we're going to head inside and see what it is like. And it is only open on the weekends.
Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. It also happens to have a really nice campus, so we decided to take a little stroll.
The Botanic Gardens first opened as a private garden in 1828, and for many years the public only had access on Sundays. Today anyone can visit and it's a beautiful place to walk around, especially if you luck out with sunshine.
So if you take a look at my pint over here you might be thinking I'm having Guinness. It does look a lot like Guinness but in fact it is Belfast Black. And I have to say it tastes just as good if not better.
For 360 degree views of Belfast, we recommend going to Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and riding the elevator up to the dome. This will give you a nice bird's eye view of Belfast.
So to wrap things up here in Belfast I'm going to mention three things I really liked about the city.
First off it is highly affordable. One of the best bargains you can get is a day pass for the bus. It's really cheap and it allows you to travel anywhere in the city unlimited usage.
Secondly, this is a very friendly city. Almost anytime we brought out a map we had a local coming up to offer help. And we just found that whenever we took taxi rides or were in restaurants locals really went the extra distance to make us feel welcome here.
And lastly this is a very walk-able city. Most of the attractions are clustered.
And that's it for our quick trip to Belfast! As you can probably see, our visit was fairly short so we didn't get to do it all. If you have any suggestions of other sights and attractions worth checking out around Belfast, feel free to share those in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Northern Ireland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Irish culture, Irish arts, Irish foods, Irish religion, Irish cuisine and Irish people.

Weekend In Belfast, Northern Ireland [Part 2]
Today we were going to take a Hop on Hop Off tour around Belfast but instead we ended up taking a Taxi Tour with Value Cabs. (not paid/sponsored or worked with before)
It was really good and so informative. We went into the streets and housing estates where The Troubles took place and saw a very tense and scarred side of Ireland.

BEST OF BELFAST - NORTHERN IRELAND WEEKEND TRIP - vlog
Welcome to Belfast, Northern Ireland! We take the bus from Dublin to Belfast to spend the weekend in the capital city. Whether you are here for the weekend, St Pattys day, or a day trip - be sure to check out the street art, history tours, and visit the Titanic museum.
First stop is to check into our hotel, Ten Square Hotel which is conveniently located next to the city's center point - the historic City Hall.
We visit the Peace Walls, murals which showcase the city's history and future. We also visit the Titanic Museum, a must see for visitors to learn the history of Belfast. The city's economy was based on ship building and the Titanic was built here. The museum tells the story of the ill-fated voyage with interactive exhibits. Belfast still is a shipping town, but now tourism and film are the new industries. Outside of the museum is the filming studio for Game of Thrones which is filmed in Northern Ireland.
Belfast has fascinating history and is one of the most artistic cities that is undergoing a transformation from the last few decades. It's also affordable with many free walking tours and activities, easy to get to from Dublin, filled with friendly locals, and less touristy than many other capital cities.

Tenth of London black taxis electrified
(31 Jul 2019) LEAD IN:
A tenth of London's famous black taxis are now electrified, following the launch of a new battery-powered taxicab by Geely-owned LEVC last year.
But drivers claim there's still a lack of infrastructure to support the new vehicles, particularly charging points across the capital.
STORY-LINE:
Peter Powell has driven black taxis on London's streets for over 23 years.
He's now one of over 2,000 London taxi drivers to have switched their traditional diesel cab for a more environmentally friendly alternative.
The TX taxi by London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), a brand owned by China-based Geely, which also owns Volvo Cars, was launched in January last year.
Its battery-powered engine can run for to up to 80 miles/129 kilometres in full-electric mode.
It's also fitted with a small, petrol range extender that allows it to go up to 370 miles/595 kilometres.
The old diesel cabs, they served the trade quite well, but very antiquated, unreliable, uncomfortable, extremely expensive to run. So hot inside, it's unbelievable, says Powell.
You can actually near enough taste the fumes some days. This is the complete opposite.
But Powell says he often struggles to find a free charging point across the capital. He usually charges his vehicle at home and uses its petrol range extender if needs be.
When you don't find a charger, you can't get on them. There's taxis waiting, there's other normal vehicles waiting, says Powell.
LEVC announced Wednesday (31 July) it had produced its 2,500th TX taxicab at its plant in Coventry.
According to Transport for London (TFL) data, there were around 21,000 black taxi cabs on the British capital's streets last year.
That means the TX makes up around ten percent of that. Not all 2,500 TX taxis are being driven in London. It's operating in over 20 cities across the UK.
What we see at the moment, we see an increased momentum and we believe sales will speed up quite significantly, very soon even, says Joerg Hoffman, the CEO of LEVC.
LEVC claims the 2,500 new taxis have prevented about 6,800 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.
They've also reduced NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions, a major contributor to poor air quality, by 99.5 percent in comparison to the previous diesel taxi.
Taxi emissions contribute about 30 percent of NOx pollution in London, says Shirley Rodrigues, deputy London mayor for Environment and Energy.
So, very significant. And that's because we've been increasingly cleaning up London's bus fleet and cleaning up London's vehicle fleets of vans, coaches, lorries and so on. So, we have to tackle taxis as well as everything else.
According to estimates by the Mayor of London's office, the number of electric vehicles on the city's streets could grow from around 20,000 currently to over 330,000 by 2025.
That would require around 50,000 charge points.
The mayor's office says London currently hosts 2,400 public chargers across the capital, 25 percent of all the UK's electric vehicle charge points.
So, we created the biggest network, bigger than New York and Paris, of rapid charges, standard charges and residential charges, says Rodrigues.
So, we have over 185 charges, rapids, on the street now. Half of those, roughly half, are about dedicated to taxis alone as well as lamp posts charges, over a thousand, two thousand if you count the private sector ones as well. So, there's a very big network, lots of capacity.

I have been slacking.. I should do a daily series series, yet I also do not want to overload the audience as it expands.. This first season is actually my patent pending/pilot/personal experience building recreation. I expect nothing in return other than a mutual sentiment towards the kind of life I live. I am a Young Urban Professional (I'm redefining the term YUPPY to take pride in)... I work hard, play hard, go hard regardless.. I challenge myself, and know that only faith remains above what we know as societal structure... I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I expose the scars embedded as well.. Google me; Jorge F Delgado Boston... I overcame, and continue to strive.. Never settle, which contradicts my philosophy of allowing the pursuit of happiness to come to an end, yet you still understand the intention, and what I wish for you to interpret.. Get out there, challenge yourself, accomplish your own goals, setting a high standard for yourself; live above the influence of prejudice.. And know that humanity is truly innocent and optimistic and opportunistic.. Destiny is absolutely based on opportunity. - Jorge F. Delgado Waltham Boston (you'll see it when you google me)

Here i bring you what i am faced on a more occurring basis, i take this road everyday to and from work. And at times it get to me beyond explanation.. i respect what farmers do for everyone but i believe that there has to be a way or a solution that would prevent them from bringing half of their field out onto the road with them..
Its not a joke the amount of debris that farm vehicles leave on the road is ridiculous and dangerous.
I would like to see what other people think of this?

STORYLINE:
More than two-thousand Australian passengers have been left stranded in Thailand's southern island of Phuket after budget airline Air Australia collapsed on Friday.
All flights have been cancelled, including international flights from Phuket to Melbourne and Sydney.
The Brisbane-based international and domestic airline, formerly known as Strategic Airlines said it had run out of money and would not be accepting new bookings because it could no longer pay its bills.
Passengers who bought tickets with credit cards or had travel insurance may be given a refund, the airline said.
According to reports, the company failed to pay for refuelling its planes in Phuket, which were scheduled to depart for Australia.
Around a thousand passengers who came to Phuket with tour agents are currently staying in the downtown area, with the expenses being taken care of by the agents.
The rest are stuck at the airport hoping to get a replacement flight, but many say they cannot pay the 200 US dollars for tickets being offered by alternative airlines.
The main issue is that these flights that they're giving us, we can't afford it anyway, said Kara, a student from Melbourne. We can't call home because our phones don't work here. And there's no internet so we can't really contact anybody.
Passengers travelling with children were especially angry at the lack of information.
We're all stuck here wondering how the hell we're going to get back to Australia, said Sharon Bentley, travelling with her husband and two children. Nobody seems to know anything and it's starting to get a bit frustrating.
The director of Phuket Airport said he was speaking with the Australian consulate to try and arrange for the passengers to be transferred home by the Australian government.
For the 30 passengers who need to go back urgently, we're trying to cooperate with Jetstar Airways to fly them back, said Pratuang Sornkham. But they have to pay around 200 US dollars more for the tickets.
In total around 4,000 passengers were stranded overseas with Air Australia round-trip tickets.
Air Australia's fleet consists of five Airbus A330-200 and A320-200 aircraft, and regularly flies to Bali, Phuket, Honolulu and cities within Australia.
