This is a great spot for a small hike for families with kids. A Steam with small falls. Pretty relaxing and peaceful place. We didn't see too many people on this trail.

We love hiking, videoing our adventures...and our kids. Today we go full frontal cabin fever and do some cold ass winter hiking at Big Hill Springs Provincial Park. It's a gruelling 1.6km loop, but probably the prettiest non-mountain scenery in Alberta.
Big Hill Springs Provincial Park in Winter | Journey Alberta
My friend Jesse and I travel out to Big Hill Springs Provincial Park in winter to explore the park. On our way there it started to snow heavily, but we decided to still explore because of the unique scenery the snow provided. Also, the multitude of waterfalls in the park were beautiful to see because of the ice formed around them. Many have distinct shapes and I was amazed by them just as much as I am in the summer.

On the Trail: Big Hill Springs Provincial Park | theWanderers-notebook
Big Hill Springs Provincial Park is a provincial park in Alberta, Canada. It is located 10 km (6.2 mi) north of Cochrane, 6 km (3.7 mi) from Highway 22 on Highway 567, in Rocky View County.
Join me as I venture through this little-known oasis in Alberta with plenty of waterfalls to enjoy on the trail along with vista views from the top of the 'Big' Hill. Definitely worthy doing as it proves to be a useful gauging tool for hiking especially if you have young children as it is a round-trip of about 2.3 kilometers and can be used to gauge if they can do longer hikes such as Parker Ridge and Larch Valley.
Also, be on the lookout for when I drop a new video series called Historical Minutes on the weekend which will involve stories related to Canadian history and world history.

Big Hill Springs Provincial Park Winter 2014
Winter hike (walk) through Big Hill Springs Provincial Park. This park is located just a few km NE of Cochrane, Alberta, or a few more km NW of Calgary, AB. This park is beautiful all season, but the abundance of ice in the winter makes it quite spectacular.
Big Hill Springs Winter 2018 in 4K | Journey Alberta
I head out to Big Hill Springs Provincial Park north of Cochrane with my friend Jesse to explore the wilderness in the winter. We walk along the creek, admiring the ice formations along the waterfalls. To top off the day we head to a top of a hill overlooking the whole park, and head back to the car by following the creek out.
