article on storms
Drenching rain, fog may foil weekend plans in southern and eastern US
Episodes of rain will put a damper on weekend plans from Houston to Boston, while fog may slow travel in parts of the eastern United States.
A stripe of snow and wintry mix will extend from the southern Plains to northern New England into Sunday. However, a storm will track far enough to the north and west to allow mild air to spread from the Deep South to much of the Ohio Valley and Northeast this weekend.
Temperatures will climb into the 30s, 40s and 50s F across the north and into the 60s and 70s across the south. With the higher temperatures and moisture in the air, it may feel more like spring rather than the middle of winter.
As the rain begins, the ground may be cold enough for patchy black ice from the central Appalachians to New England on Saturday. These icy spots will be most common near large piles of snow and in areas that do not receive direct sunshine on a clear day.
The action of mild, moist air flowing over cold ground and/or snowcover will produce widespread misty conditions.
In areas from the Appalachians and Piedmont to New England, fog and low clouds may be extensive enough to lead to airline delays.
Delays related to poor visibility are possible in Atlanta, Charlotte, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston, especially from later Saturday through Sunday.
The milder weather will allow property owners to clean snow and ice off of their sidewalks and driveways.
Motorists are reminded that leaving snow and ice on vehicles, including the roof of truck trailers, while driving is dangerous and subject to a stiff fine in some states. This snow may suddenly slide forward during deceleration and obstruct visibility. Snow on the roof of a vehicle may become a projectile and cause an accident.
Widespread flooding is not anticipated in the Northeast and in areas east of the Appalachians in the South. In these areas, a few brief incidents of urban flooding may occur, where downpours develop and persist.
The area from the central Gulf coast to the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians may receive enough rain to lead to flash and small stream flooding, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.
In this same area, minor river flooding is also a possibility in low-lying, unprotected locations, Anderson said.
From 1-4 inches of rain is forecast in this swath through Sunday night.
Parts of the Eastern and Southern states are experiencing long-term, abnormally dry to drought conditions. So the rain may be beneficial in terms of putting water into reservoirs. Some of this moisture will seep into the ground into the South, where the ground is not frozen.
Thunderstorms will accompany the rain in the Southern states. Most of the storms will be unremarkable. However, a few storms that erupt over the lower Mississippi Valley to the central Gulf coast may become heavy, gusty and perhaps briefly severe on Saturday.
Just enough chilly air may return to bring a period of wet snow or freezing rain to some of the western slopes of the Appalachians during Sunday night, Anderson said.
However, a big blast of arctic air is not anticipated to return any time soon.

Brown Trout Fishing on Tenneesse's Watauga River
East Tennessee is littered with wonderful trout fisheries. Meanwhile, few hold a bigger stick than the Watauga River, where we filmed this episode of Pautzke Outdoors with live Chartreuse Fire Dye minnows in search of quality brown trout.
Luck wasn't on our side. For the second consecutive year, wintry conditions cast a shadow on us. We were greeted by high winds, snow, temperatures in the teens and an unstable barometer. Fortunately, armed with Fire Dye minnows we were able to convince a pile of quality, wild browns to feed, even under poor conditions.

Chasing Waterfalls in Tennessee
On a beautiful spring day in Tennessee, while on a trip to Nashville, my wife and I took a road trip to Burgess Falls State Park to celebrate her birthday by hiking to one of the best waterfalls in Tennessee. But we wanted to challenge ourselves to get to Burgess Falls with nothing but a road map.
Ironically, one of the biggest challenges was actually finding a road map.

Huntsville the Beautiful - Time Lapse Photography - @dreiststudios #BeautifulHSV
Fund our trip to Seattle -
My family and I moved to Huntsville, AL in 2001 from Germany. The people in Huntsville made us feel welcomed and we were privileged to call Huntsville our new home.
Now, after 13 years, my wife and I decided to go on an adventure and move to Seattle, WA and so I have made this video as a little Thank You to Huntsville, its people and the time that I got to spend in this city.

Huntsville is a city located primarily in Madison County in the central part of the far northern region of the State of Alabama. Huntsville is the county seat of Madison County. The city extends west into neighboring Limestone County. Huntsville's population was 180,105 as of the 2010 census. The Huntsville Metropolitan Area's population was 417,593.Huntsville is the fourth-largest city in Alabama and the largest city in the five-county Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area, which at the 2013 census estimate had a total population of 683,871. In 2013, the Huntsville metropolitan area became the 2nd largest in Alabama with a population of 435,737.
It grew across nearby hills north of the Tennessee River, adding textile mills, then munitions factories, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and the United States Army Aviation and Missile Command nearby at the Redstone Arsenal. The National Trust for Historic Preservation named Huntsville to its America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations for 2010 list.

Frankenmuth Michigan Summer Tour 2019
Today, we are in Frankenmuth Michigan for summer tour around the city :). Recently, we were up in Mackinaw City, Michigan and it reminded us a lot of Frankenmuth (also known as Michigan's little Bavaria) so we decided to take a quick trip out to this beautiful little Bavarian town.
To start of our tour we decided to take a quick spin around the River Place Shops, which I believe was built by the same developers that installed the Mackinaw Crossing mall up in Mackinaw City. Everything pretty much looked the same as it did the last time we were in Frankenmuth. We did stop to eat a couple of pasties at the Pasty Haus.
After finishing our little meal we headed to downtown Frankenmuth. The main street in Frankenmuth is beautiful in the summer time. There were lots of beautiful flowers and plants all along the roadside.
Near the end of our walk we decided to pop into the Raus Country Store for a look around at all of the fun collectibles inside.
Overall, we had a fantastic time in Frankenmuth and I believe we both enjoyed it even more than Mackinaw City.

Ep. 505 Balance in 'Bama - Tennessee Valley Uncharted
Aerial sets out to answer a question that has been on her mind for years: what exactly is the secret to a happy and balanced life? She begins her journey through Northern Alabama at the Unclaimed Baggage Center, where she discovers the most unusual items can have the most insightful stories. Then, she heads to Tumbling Rock Cave Preserve to explore the unique history and ecosystems within. Next, Aerial enjoys some hard-earned treats at Payne’s Sandwich Shop, where she quickly learns the people of Scottsboro are just as heartening as the food. She then heads over to Guntersville to learn what it takes to build a boat dock on TVA land, before setting sail on the open water with North Alabama Sailing Marina. Last, she takes a moment to appreciate the picturesque Pisgah Gorge with the company of a local photographer. All the while, Aerial embraces both excitement and intimidation, hard work and fun for fun’s sake, and learns how to be her best self in the process.
