13 miles to Willow Creek, CA, day of the annular eclipse, May 20, 2012. Headed east-bound on Rt 299 towards Redding, trying to stay ahead of the clouds coming in from the coast... Made a short stop at the overlook... which happened to be PACKED with soon to be disappointed eclipse watchers... the clouds were already rolling in as we pulled out of here.... which is in another video... pulling out and continuing east, I mean.
Parking lot is located at 40° 54.095', -123° 46.833', on Rt. 299.

Van Life - HWY 299 - Bigfoot Country to Lassen National Park
Day 49 on the Road - We left family in Arcata, CA (Oct. 22nd) and headed east on HWY 299 along the beautiful Trinity River toward Lassen National Park. We had to stop at the Bigfoot Museum in Willow Creek...Believe!
We got to Lassen just before sunset and got a campsite at the Manzanita Campground - the weather's changing, storms were about to come in the temperatures were dropping! They had just turned off the water at this site and most of the bathrooms were closed. Most of the park was actually closed...which we didn't find out till it was too late...
