Island Fish Fry - Every Thursday, Turks and Caicos
|| MyTurksandCaicos.com ||
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, is known for it's white sandy beach, turquoise water, amazing resorts and fantastic restaurants. However, many tourists get a chance to experience the best food on the island, created by the small mom and pop shops. All those small, authentically local vendors come together every Thursday night from 5-9pm at the Island Fish Fry to deliver a truly local experience. Featuring authentic island dishes like fresh caught fried snapper, fresh conch, jerk chicken, and many others, the Island Fish Fry gives tourists a glance at the real Turks and Caicos (and it is delicious!). Come down to Bight (Children’s) Park, mingle with the locals, drink rum in a freshly cracked coconut and enjoy the party.

Snorkeling at Childrens Park - Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos
We venture out into a world of coral reefs, stingrays, and schools of tropical fish as we snorkel at the Children's Park also known as Bight Park or The Bight Beach on the central north coast of Providenciales. We hope our video inspires you to visit Turks & Caicos and come stay with us at Villa Del Mar.

Provo Party - Island Fish Fry Event Every Thursday
A cultural explosion is rocking Provo! Every Thursday from 5:30p to 9:30p at the Bight (Children’s) Park, over a dozen local food vendors, entertainers and cultural acts come together for Island Fish Fry to create an evening of “all things TCI.” - Turks and Caicos Tourism
THE ISLAND FISH FRY - Turks and Caicos
No trip to the island of Providenciales could possibly be complete without spending a Thursday night sampling all the fresh and salty delights of the iconic T & C Fish Fry.
This local event that sees islanders mingling with travelers has been taking place on the sands of Bight Park close to Grace Bay for some time.
It’s an evening of culture and chats, of live samba and dance, of laid-back Carib tunes and market stalls selling shell bracelets.
Oh, and – of course – some of the best-barbequed fish cuts you’ll ever taste! And when the sun goes down and the rum comes out, the resident Junkanoo Band takes over, serenading everyone into the early hours with their steel drums and singing.

Fish Fry every Thursday - Turks and Caicos Tourism
The Turks & Caicos Tourist Board in collaboration with the Department of Culture, DEMA and major presenter LIME, kicked off the event in late January. It has been growing week by week enticing locals and visitors alike to experience an evening in the park in a fun, family style setting. The aroma of fresh, fish frying permeates the air, while visual treats abound with vats of boiling lobster and conch salad masters plying their craft.
Each week a new band takes the stage with rotations by local favorites Lee & the Force, Sea Breeze Rip Saw Band, Keno & Kazz Alroy & Daz, Kew Band Lynx and V6 Rake n Scrape Band to bring to the venue a variety of styles and sounds and keep the lineup fresh. Cultural acts are interspersed throughout the evening with performances by the Breezy Beach and Edward Garland Youth Centre Dancers to bring vibrancy and passion to the night.
Fool's Regatta in Turks & Caicos
thewestbayclub.com - One of the great events on the Turks & Caicos calendar is the annual Fools Regatta. It's part sailing event, part beach party and entirely fun. And it takes place right down the beach from West Bay Club.
Here's the scoop on the 2010 edition, the 20th annual:
Saturday, June 19th at the Bight Kids' Park. Event kicks off at noon.
The day long event features lot of local food, local boats and local music.
One of the highlights of the day is the Resort Challenge Race, which pits the staffs of many of the beachfront resorts against each other in a Hobie Cat race (yes, WBC is one of the early favorites!)
There's sailing competition among local sloops in three different classes. These graceful handmade crafts are really fun to watch and the skill of the local sailors is impressive
And then there's the Great Raft Race run by the Volunteer Fire Service — always an entertaining competition. Ten rafts are already entered for this event that epitomizes the Fools Regatta as teams construct rafts from just about any type of material (beer kegs?)
There are kids games, beach shenanigans and a Tug-O-War competition. The family friendly event concludes at sunset with an awards ceremony.

Beaches Resort SNUBA Dive in Ocean | Turks & Caicos Islands Location
On my last morning at Beaches Turks & Caicos, I take a boat out to do a SNUBA dive! SNUBA is a cool combination of Scuba & Snorkeling. You do not have to be Scuba certified to dive, and can go down up to 20 feet. You float in the ocean with an air tank suspended in a raft above you. Check out what it was like!

Parasailing | Snorkeling | Turks and Caicos | Grace Bay
Photos and videos from my trip in Turks and Caicos. We stayed at a resort on Grace Bay. In the video you will see videos from parasailing and snorkeling in Grace Bay. We swam at Bight reef and Smith's reef. Highly recommend Bight reef which is about 10 feet of shore and is full of colorful fish. There are many people there, but it is still incredible. We saw multiple sea turtles, a flounder, a lion fish, a barracuda and even a huge stingray. All images shot with my Go Pro Hero 3+.
