Swadha Kumari from College of Arts and Crafts, Patna University
Swadha is a first-year student from College of Arts and Crafts, Patna University. Basically from Chappra, Swadha's father is a Doctor, and wanted her to follow the same path, but she decided to become an artist instead. She challenges the common mindset of parents willing to make their children a doctor or an engineer. She wants to set such an example that everyone would want their children to become an artist. Defying the gender bias she strongly believes that a work of art is judged on its quality, not on the basis of the gender of the artist.

Bhawana Kanth girl fighter plane pilot made Bihar proud.
A girl who was thrilled to see an airplane flying in the sky in her childhood was included in the first three pilots of the IAF to fly a fighter plane. About 1500 women are in the Indian Air Force. They are working in different departments. Women have been flying from helicopter and transport aircraft since 1991, but they were kept away from the fighter plane. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister #ManoharParrikar also decided to give women a place in the cockpit of a combat aircraft. There is a girl from Bihar who is changing this opportunity in an opportune time #BhawanaKanth
On December 1, 1992, the spirit was born in Baruni. In the Indian Oil Company, his father is employed as an engineer, while the mother is a housewife. In childhood, I was awarded 'Medha awards' from IOCL on behalf of the IOCL on the issue of the highest point of 90% in the examination in class 10 in childhood. The school education till its 10th is completed by the DAV School of Baruni Refinery under #Begusarai District. He says that after 10th, Vidya Mandir was enrolled in Kota Vidyalaya School, along with coaching for the engineering entrance examination. The result of hard work was that B.Tech. College of Engineering in Bangalore (Electronics) got selected.
B. Tech in 2014 After doing the job, Joshi got a job as a software engineer in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), but he had the intention of going to the Air Force since childhood. She wanted to pass #NDA examination even during her high school, but there was no position for women in it. Bhavna got the benefit of staying in Bangalore and she passed the entrance examination of IAF in 2014. After that, he got a short service commission in the Air Force. Then he was selected for the training of the pilot.
It was a day of complete fulfillment of a great dream, after which there was a time of hard training. Now they are joining those three women pilots, who will get the opportunity to blow up the Air Force's Fighter Plane for the first time. With them, Avni Chaturvedi (Madhya Pradesh) and Mohanan Singh (Gujarat) will also get commissioned in the Air Force. In the Uttarakhand Engineering College, the younger brother of the spirit is Neelambar Kanth, while the younger sister #TanujaKanth B. Tech is doing the same from DAV Patil Engineering College. Both say 'Didi' as their role models.
Dr. Manas Bihari Verma, one of the scientists associated with the construction of the Light Combat Aircraft 'Tejas', who is a resident of Baur village in Darbhanga (ancestral village of emotion) and a light-cockbelt aircraft, desires that the spirit flies in 'Tejas'. While expressing his pride in the achievements of the spirit, he says that the spirit is the right candidate to blow the #Tejas in order to rescue the enemy's sixes. Under the Darbhanga district, the native resident of Baur village of Ghanshyampur block joined the Air Force fighter stream on June 18, 2016 after training to fly a fighter plane at the Aircraft Academy, Hyderabad. Emotion says, From childhood, I dreamed of flying in the sky. Always wanted to fly like a bird. Now this dream is going to be complete.

HOW BIHAR WON HEARTS AT IITF 2014
The Bihar pavilion of the India International Trade Fair '2014 has bagged the gold medal for best pavilion. Prepared by about 40 women artists from the state, the beautifully decorated facade and traditional, yet exciting interiors, has grabbed the attention of visitors in the 34th IITF being held in New Delhi. The award-winning pavilion is all about Bihar's transition from its culturally captivating past to its enthusiastically energetic future.
The pavilion is designed by Delhi based 'TOD Innovations' on the theme of 'Women Entrepreneurs'. Inspiration is drawn from the woman achievers of today who are shaping the society not only thorough their economic revolution but also imparting their vision of a healthier and wealthier future into the society. Their stories are infused in each component of the pavilion, from the 'Madhubani Jali' to the theme hall; all speak of the achievements of these women who have left an indelible mark in the future of Bihar.
The pavilion facade is designed in a minimalist cubist fashion with influences from the renowned 'Madhubani' paintings, which is converted into an abstract 'Jali'. The 'Madhubani Jali' depicts women doing their daily chores, in their traditional roles and peels off at one corner to reveal the women of today's Bihar. It creates a feeling of unveiling the present from the wrappings of the past. The entrance under the tilted canopy is decorated with 'Sikki Chakras' which are hand crafted discs made of dried and dyed grass. The whole facade lights up in the evening bringing to life the fine strokes of the 'Madhubani Jali'.
The pavilion also celebrates the invigorating spirit of women around the 'Tulsi' courtyard. The stories of these brave achievers is printed on 'Bhagalpuri' silk panels, which marks the epitome of the handmade crafts of Bihar. The ornately painted 'Madhubani' ceiling portrays the lives of women in Bihar. The colourful paintings capture the role of women in each phase of her life and her journey while overcoming all hurdles. In the centre of the hall is the 'Tulsi' tree which is the traditional icon of womanhood and an integral part of every household in Bihar. The 'Tulsi' symbolises the position of women in the society and the respect they command. The 'Tulsi' tree rises from a cluster of pedestals showcasing various crafts resonating the numerous accomplishments of women. The dark mono-chromatic interiors punctuated with bright splurge of colours imparts a liveliness to the space.
The 'Tulsi' courtyard leads to the administrative hall and crafts hall through a passage decorated with bamboo 'Jali' and adorned by a 'Sikki' chandelier. 'Sikki' is a craft from Bihar and is made by weaving dried grass which is also died in vibrant colours. The cornucopia of colours in the chandelier and the mystic lights from the 'Jali' is as exciting as it is photogenic. The administrative hall displays various measures taken at governmental level to ensure self-dependence and development among women. It also gives the visitor a chance to interact with executives about concerning issues.
The last hall is the crafts hall where you can see the magic happening live in front of you. 'Upendra Maharathi Shilpkala Sansthan', who also commissioned the design, organised live demonstration from the artisans in the Bihar pavilion to give its visitors a taste of their prosperous craft heritage. The walls in the crafts hall are adorned with 'Tikuli' paintings and paper mache masks which adds personality and character to the space. In the centre of the hall is a stepped display of the best examples of all the crafts of Bihar. The hall also houses the staircase, covered in bright red and will lead you to the first floor following a trail of 'Sikki' wall art. The top storey holds an exhibition where exhibitors from Bihar display their work in individual stalls.
Bihar pavilion takes you full circle through the triumphs of women, from traditional wives to radical entrepreneurs. It emphasizes their role in society and showcase how enriching their contribution can be. It also captures the heights of crafts of Bihar. The 'Sikki' chandelier, the 'Madhubani' roof paintings, the paper mache mask and the 'Tikuli' painting all crafts displayed in the pavilion are made by women. The pavilion presents a picture of modern Bihar and celebrates and commemorates the empowered women whose efforts has helped Bihar to take this leap into the future.
