We were back in our happy place over February half term – Cornwall! Even after 10 or more trips here in the past three years, we never tire of it and always return home refreshed and carrying a little piece of Cornwall in our hearts. This time we were there to review a stay at The Valley Cornwall, which is a Visit England five star cottage resort near Truro. Thanks to The Valley for inviting us to stay in exchange for a review on the blog, which you can find here:
The Valley didn’t ask us to make a video but we decided to anyway so you can see all the things to do in Cornwall in Spring. We visited Crantock Beach near Newquay, Trelissick National Trust on the River Fal, Geevor Tin Mine near Lands End, St Michael’s Mount, The Lizard Lighthouse (not featured), and Cardinham Woods near Bodmin Moor. We also were given free bike hire from Bike Chain Bissoe near The Valley in exchange for a mention on the blog.
You can read more about this family staycation in Cornwall and our others here:
I also have a big guide to family holidays in Cornwall which will help if you’re planning a trip there:
Disclosure: we were invited to stay at The Valley Cornwall in exchange for social media coverage of our stay and a review on the blog. We also received complimentary cycle hire from Bike Chain Bissoe. We paid for our other days out featured in this video.

Hi there, I’m Claire – a late-30s mummy to a busy primary schooler and smiley toddler, and wife to a Royal Navy Officer.
Tin Box Traveller is a UK family travel blog that I use to share our adventures and inspire others to explore new places. I’ve been a wanderer from the day dot. Some of my earliest memories are from living in Hong Kong while my dad was working there until I started school.
Back in the UK my weekends and holidays as a pre-teen and teen were spent caravanning all over the UK. So it’s no surprise that exploring the great outdoors and new places are two of my biggest passions. Meet the rest of the team:
