Qinglong Lake Wetlands Park (青龙湖湿地公园) is a pretty freaking big park just outside of Chengdu city, Sichuan, China. It was actually mislabeled by Google as Shiling Forest Park (十陵森林公园) 。 It was less than an hour to cycle there from my apartment, so my Chinese wife and I headed off!
China pro tip: get out of the cities. It's so much fun when you can get out - even just a peek - into the suburbs or the countryside. Skyscrapers dwindle, and lakes, ponds, rivers, creeks, and greenery take their place! Plus, some great food can be had! Whole roasted chickens, ducks, wild mushrooms - all kinds of stuff!
I miss doing these China daily life types of vlogs - they're fun! I need to bring them back. There's always something interesting going on in China. Never a dull moment!

Highlight Mountain Bike Slopestyle - FISE World Chengdu-China 2016
Riding effortlessly, Nicholi kept the suspense alive until the end, delivering an outstanding Finals run. Despite blowing a tire on his second run, the American rider remained focused and motivated, landing a cashroll in the middle section and ending with a front barspin which put him one step ahead of Mehdi Gani’s front condor. Mehdi also laced a high level last run with a high risk flip triple bar spin, only falling 0.3 points behind Rogatkin. With 1000 points between first and second place, the current FMB world champion takes the lead on this last stop of the World Series, thus earning himself another overall title! Quite a way to end an exceptional year already!

Chengdu Rolls out China's First Regulations on Shared Bikes
China's first regulations on shared bikes were released in Chengdu of southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday, which encourage bike sharing for the public while regulating their use, according to the city's transport authorities.
The regulations released by the Transport Committee of Chengdu for a trial run stipulate that not only those who use the bikes for sharing but also all the citizens of Chengdu are obliged to take care of those bikes and their parking facilities. Those who are convicted of deliberately damaging or stealing the bikes shall be subject to punishment according to law. Those who are convicted of committing crimes shall be held for criminal liabilities.
The regulations make it clear that there will be designated areas for the parking of shared bikes and local governments in these areas shall be responsible for their management, including the mapping out of the parking lots and installation of the parking signs.
The operating enterprises shall set up professional troubleshooting teams for the shared bikes, according to the regulations.
The regulations cover various aspects, from stipulations on bikes, users and enterprises to those on business operations. First, we make our stance clear that we support and encourage this bike-sharing system. Second, we want it to develop orderly, said Li Hao, director of the Transport Office with the Transport Committee of Chengdu.
Over 300,000 shared bikes have been available in Chengdu since the bike-sharing system was introduced to the city three months ago. The major operators are Mobike and ofo.
Ordinary people in Chengdu welcome the regulations.
With the regulations we ordinary people can restrain some misconducts like damaging or improperly parking the bikes. And it'll be more convenient for us to use them, said Ju Ziming, a local resident.
The once dominant two-wheelers have given way to cars in recent years due to China's rising middle class. However, new bike-sharing services allow commuters to escape traffic gridlock and sometimes crowded or inconvenient public transit for as little as one yuan per hour. Users can unlock the bikes for sharing with a mobile app and drop them off anywhere for the next user.

Taking up only 7 square meters on the ground, China’s first underground bike garage debuted in Chengdu city, in which stores up to 224 shared bikes, taking only 20 seconds to rent or return one.
