Tarp camping in an Australian forest
Join me as I ride my bike and hike (including under head lamp) into an awesome Australian forest in the Budawangs, NSW, Australia. I set up my tarp in the dark and cook up some food on the fire and enjoy a couple of beers. In the morning I head to an amazing plain surrounded by fantastic rock formations.
Filmed May 2018.

90 - Wet 'n Wild in Tassie
After our (first) road trip in Australia was over, we spent a couple of days in Melbourne, enjoying big city life and hunting down the incredible artwork in the famous laneways. But in our hearts, we are boat people and we were ready to get back out on the water with a trip down to Tassie.
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys was kind enough to take us out on a three hour tour (hehe) along the spectacular Tassie coastline between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck. We got to see the highest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere, caves, rock arches and the lighthouse at Tasman Island. But I think the highlight of the trip for both of us was the wild life. The fur seals, penguins and albatrosses were pretty damn cool, but it was just absolutely magical to have dolphins flying along with us at high speed.
Safely back on land again, we toured the Port Arthur Historic Site which is both the best preserved convict site in Australia, as well as the site of the largest mass shooting in Australia's history. It was a pretty somber day, but it was important to see.
Not done yet, we came back to Hobart for an awesome Saturday Market, a climb up a mountain with a name that seemed better suited to New Zealand and another mini road trip.
We packed a LOT into our time in Tasmania, but it was absolutely worth it. What a stunning place.
Thanks for watching!

Olinda to The Basin, in the Dandenongs
My last bike ride for 2011, on 31st December.
I rode various parts of the Dandenongs, in the state of Victoria in Australia, then used the helmet camera to record my descent from Olinda (approx. 550m elevation) to The Basin (approx. 170m). The late morning sunlight filtering through the trees was quite pleasant, although the helmet camera had trouble adjusting the light balance because of it.
I saw numerous other cyclists out today, as it was a Saturday morning and a holiday period for many.
