Cycling & trying POLISH FOOD in KRAKOW! | Krakow Poland Tour
It's my day off and I did something I've been wanting to do for a long time... I decided to hire a bike and spend one day in Krakow exploring as much as possible. Oh, and trying Polish food of course!
In between blogging projects and press trips, I decided to spend one week in Krakow Poland on a me trip. Like usual, I ended up with a massive backlog of work when I arrived but I whizzed through it and spent one day exploring properly. And I decided to explore by bike!
Krakow is a beautiful city and the perfect place for a day of cycling. Cycling in Krakow is safe and easy, so it was a great way to see all the best things in Krakow in just one day.
In this Krakow vlog we visit:
Krakow's Jewish Quarter, where we try zapiekanka - a polish sandwich - for the first time
Then we head to the suburbs of Krakow, passing churches and colourful houses on the way. After stopping for a couple of rounds of go-karting, we continue our cycling tour of Krakow and visit one of the famous mounds, Krakus. From here, we got a fantastic view of Krakow Old Town and saw just how big the city actually is! We ended the day in Krakow with a trip to Starka, a restaurant in the Jewish quarter that sells flavoured vodka and traditional Polish food. We tried pierogis (of course!), Polish Beet Soup (Barszcz Czysty Czerwony, or Borscht) and Polish Prunes Wrapped in Bacon (Sliwki w Boczku).
And that's in for our day in Poland! I absolutely loved visiting Krakow and trying Polish food, so can't recommend this city enough.
As always, thanks for watching and you in the next travel vlog!
KRAKOW BIKE TOUR // Exploring Poland
Krakow, Poland surprised me in every possible way. From the weather to the food, to the scenery, it was all amazing. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to explore this city and we definitely did it right by taking a bike tour around Krakow. It just felt right considering biking is now part of everyday life in Amsterdam.

This Krakow bike tour starts from Park Krakowski along Adama Mickiewicza Avenue and heads into Rynek Glowny in the Old Town Center. Along the ride I talk about the neighborhood, and places from my previous videos like my Airbnb apartment, The Milk Bar, and Szewska Street where the nightlife is.

BEST Way To See Kraków, POLAND!
For the first time ever we decided to go on a walking tour! Walkative Tours are quite popular in Poland and we had a great experience on two of their tours: Old Krakow Town & The Jewish District. They each went for more than two and a half hours (get your walking shoes on!) and they were both filled with so much information - needless to say we are now convinced that seeing a new city with a local guide is the way to go!
With ‘free’ walking tours they normally ask for a small tip at the end, you basically pay them what you think the tour was worth. Its also a great way to ask a local for tips on places to eat and things to do once the tour has finished.

We left our jobs, sold all of our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!

Krakow Bike Tour Outside Of The Old Town
Krakow Bike Tour : This is a bike ride I took in Krakow Poland away from the Old Town. I wanted to see what it is like in the non touristy areas where every day Polish people live.
Krakow Poland Trip to Auschwitz and Wieliczka
Kraków, a southern Poland city near the border of the Czech Republic, is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. Its old town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls – is centered on the stately, expansive Rynek Glówny (market square). This plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church

Krakow Bike Tour
While in Poland we decided to take the Krakow Bike Tour. We were lucky enough to have a knowledgable and passionate guide by the name of Matthew who gave us a fantastic tour of the city and main sites. Even though it rained most of the ride, it was one of the best experiences of the entire trip. Highly recommended!
European Motorcycle Adventure - Episode 7 - Krakow, Poland
We only had one short day in Poland, but Krakow was one of our favorite stops on the trip. it has tons of charm and just enough bustle to be interesting and lively but still doesn't feel too touristy. We stayed in the very hip Mosquito Hostel and spent several hours wandering the streets of the old town.

Bicycle ride along the Vistula River - Krakow attractions
This is a bicycle ride (tour) along the Vistula River (Wisla in Polish) in and around the Polish city of Krakow (Kraków). Our bike sightseeing tour starts on the bicycle road (cycling road) which lies next to the Vistula River (In Polish this bicycle track is called Bulwar Kurlandzki). Our ride begins next to the river just in front of the Krakow Sheraton Hotel (west) and ends at the Stopień wodny „Dąbie (a dam area further in the east of the city).
From our bicycle tour viewers should be able to get an impression of what it is like to ride by the river. Our ride took place in April when it was still very cold and even rainy / snowy and still we enjoyed the ride although we did not find that the route was very interesting from a tourists perspective (we took the ride as an active holiday activity). On our journey on our bike route between the Krakow Sheraton and the Stopień wodny „Dąbie viewers we will show or mention landmarks and places that could be of interest to tourists visiting Krakow.
Landmarks along the way included the Gothic Wawel Castle, several bridges the Most Grunwaldzky, Karakov, Piłsudski Bridge (named after Marshall Pilsudski, who is considered the father of the Polish independence in 1918), Kladka Ojca Bernatka (Little Father Bernard's Footbridge / the Lovers Bridge where lovers have decorated the bridge with locks), Most Powstańców Śląskich, some railway bridges and Most Kotlarski (the bridge you cross if you are going to visit Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory). Also look out for landmarks such as the Krakow: Static Balloon ride (with a platform with space for 16 people this balloon rises to approximately 300m on a line), Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology (Muzeum Sztuki i Techniki Japońskiej Manggha w Krakowie), Church on the Rock (Kościół na Skałce) this is where the Bishop of Kraków Saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów was slain by order of Polish King Bolesław II in 1079, Forum Hotel (previously the Sofitel Cracow, the amusement park (Krakow Lunapark) and the Galeria Kazimierz shopping center. We borrowed our bicycles free of charge from the hotel we where staying at, The Krakow Sheraton.
Wki writes about Wawel Castle, The Gothic Wawel Castle in Kraków in Poland was built at the behest of Casimir III the Great, who reigned from 1333 to 1370, and consists of a number of structures situated around the central courtyard...
Wiki writes, Church of St Michael the Archangel and St Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr and Pauline Fathers Monastery, Skałka, which means a small rock in Polish, is a small outcrop in Kraków where the Bishop of Kraków saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów was slain by order of Polish king Bolesław II the Bold in 1079. This action resulted in the king's exile and the eventual canonization of the slain bishop...
The footage from this bicycle tour along the Vistula River (Wisla in Polish) is filmed in Krakow Poland. The ride is between the Sheraton Krakow Hotel and the river dam called Stopień wodny „Dąbie which lies a little further east of the hotel. We did not feel that this ride along the Vistula River was the most interesting tourist attraction / activity to do in Krakow in April but during the warmer summer we are sure many will enjoy this ride.
