Buenos Aire's First Graffiti Bike Tour - GraffitiMundo and Biking Buenos Aires
Buenos Aire's original graffiti bike tour was a collaboration between street artist darlings, GraffitiMundo and Buenos Aire's premier bike tour company Biking Buenos Aires . NEW biking graffiti experience explores the South of the city.
WARNING! This is not a namby-pamby ride for tourists, it's strictly off the beaten track and this biking experience includes caveats not typical of our 'Premium Biking Experiences'

Meet us every Sunday in the beautiful Botanical Garden of Palermo where we begin our bike tour with a thorough orientation; introducing you to the city, your bicycle and each other. In collaboration with graffitimundo (walking urban art tours), this tour takes you through the backstreets on bikes to unveil the best graffiti art in the city.
Starting in Palermo Soho, witness the colorful murals spread all over this quaint neighborhood before entering the quiet streets of Villa Crespo. After stopping several times to learn and appreciate the inspiration of local and international artists, we pass by (entering if open) the artists studio to try and meet the people behind the spray can to get a personal perspective of the celebrated Buenos Aires street art.
After zigzagging throughout inner city Buenos Aires, we find ourselves at a Palermo Hollywood bus station designated for artists to express themselves on every surrounding wall. The last stop of our Sunday ride is at Post Bar where stencil art dominates the walls at Hollywood in Cambodia. Upstairs you will find a constantly changing art studio and a grand terraza where you can purchase art and enjoy a beverage.
Our tour ends back at our meeting point in the Botanical Garden where we recapture the day and suggest some BA must do’s. Lasting approximately 3.5 hours, we follow many bike trails and stop around 8 times to take photos, drink and learn about Yerba Mate, and enjoy a fun, creative and informative tour led by expert bilingual guides.
The Original Ultimate City Buenos Aires Bike Tour
Meeting every day at 10am in historic San Telmo (Peru 988), we begin our bike tour with a thorough orientation, introducing you to the city, your bicycle and each other. Pointing our front tire south, we pedal through the backstreets of one of the oldest barrios in Buenos Aires making our way towards Parque Lezama, the border of La Boca and San Telmo. Looping around La Boca we witness elaborate urban art, the famous Bombonera stadium and the birthplace of Tango in colorful Caminito. You then have time to explore on foot this vibrant port that once greeted millions of immigrants in the turn of the 20th century.
Back on our bikes, we navigate our way to a completely different world in the neighboring bubble of Puerto Madero. The contrast is very noticeable as you ride through the quiet, yet very modern streets in search of the 60 acre Ecological Reservation hidden in the back. Once our appetite has kicked in, we stop at the original parrilla on the Costanera Sur boardwalk to get a taste of local Asado Argentino. Taking advantage of the plentiful salad bar, build your own sandwich with your choice of pork, chicken, or chorizo (egg/cheese option for vegetarians). Buen Provecho!
Full and satisfied, it’s time to cruise along the docks towards the main transportation hub of Buenos Aires known as Retiro. The privileged neighborhood of Recoleta is as far north as we get before we turn back south, but not before we stop and enter the famous cemetery in search of Evitas final resting place.
Making our way back through Micro Centro, all roads lead to the “Heart of the City” in the Plaza de Mayo where you will learn about why most Argentine historical events occurred in this very spot. We familiarize ourselves with the Casa Rosada, Cabildo, the famous Catedral and then you’re free to discover more of the Plaza and it’s intriguing surroundings.
Our tour ends back at our meeting point in San Telmo (Peru 988)where we recapture the day and suggest some BA must do’s. Lasting approximately 7 hours, we follow many bike trails and stop around 15 times to drink and learn about Yerba Mate, take photos, eat delicious asado and enjoy a fun, creative and informative tour led by expert bilingual guides.

Many call Buenos Aires the “Paris of Latin America,” or being a “French city built by Italians.” Meet the Golden Age of Buenos Aires as Argentina was considered one of the wealthiest nations from 1890-1930 and we see it represented through it’s buildings and plazas on this tour.
Ride with us on the quiet Sunday streets of San Telmo, Monserrat, Puerto Madero, Micro Centro and Congreso seeing beautiful man-mad creations like La Faena Hotel & Universe, Colon Theatre, secret houses, historic churches and lots more before ending back in our shop in San Telmo.
The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and will leave you with a better understanding of Buenos Aires’ eclectic architectural landscape.

And yes - there is much more to do but I challenged myself to highlight the most popular things to do in Buenos Aires ;)
--- Top 10 Things to do in Buenos Aires, Argentina ---
1) free walking tour (innercity & main sights)
I discovered Demasiado tours through Couchsurfing and recommendations from friends I met at different CouchSurfing meetings in Buenos Aires.
more info: Demasiado Tours, (
2) Recoleta neighborhood & cemetery
This barrio is one of the fancy onces, close to the city center -- great architecture, nice parks and one of the most popular cemeteries in town with impressive graves of notable people like Evita. I did a free tour here as well to get a quick overview before walking around on my own.

3) Buenos Aires Street Art Tours
Matt became a good friend of mine and runs unique graffiti toursfollow providing loads of information about the murals, the artists and the Street Art Scene in general -- a great way for people who are new to Street Art to dive into this interesting culture!

BA Street Art Tours, ( - also a great Blog about Streetart and Graffiti in general!
4) Ice Cream, Helado, Gelato -- mmmh!
The amount of people who immigrated from Italy to Buenos Aires and Argentina in general is very high -- therefore you can find loads of great Ice Cream Parlours here. Beside the big chains like Freddo you should go for some family owned businesses -- ask the locals as they know best where to go!

5) Discover Buenos Aires by Bike
Time to do something active: grab a bike and cycle around the city (like I did in Berlin)! Since 2 years the city provides a decent network of bicycle routes & most of the hostels offer a bike rental service. This is a great way to get to know Puerto Madero as there is no Subte (Metro) station close to it.

6) Parks
After all these activities it's time for a break! Luckily you can find a decent amount of green areas all around the city. My favourite one has been Bosques de Palermo
more info: Top 5 Buenos Aires Parks (#6):
7) Tango
Tango was born in San Telmo and there is an option to watch it for free at the sundays open-air market.
8) San Telmo Market / Sunday fair
The best day to visit the oldest barrio of Buenos Aires, San Telmo, is possibly on Sundays where you can stroll along the antique-market. Though it is very touristy it is a good place to get some nice souvenirs.
more info: San Telmo (#8):
9) Steak & Malbec Wine
There is no visit to Argentina without having a great steak sided by some of the best wines you can find! Beside having an Asado with friends, the restaurant Las Cabras is a very good and budget friendly option which is quite popular by locals, too!
more info: Steak Restaurant (#9):
Las Cabras - cheap, tasty and popular amongst locals (
10) Party & Nightlife
Buenos Aires is exhausting as you can party there every night ;) Around the neighborhood Palermo you can find a high density of Bars and Clubs.

Crossing Argentina // CyclingAbout The Americas (EP.3)
I was feeling like a different challenge this month, so I veered away from my northbound trajectory in favour of crossing La Pampas (the Argentinean plains). This 2000km ride took me from Bariloche to Buenos Aires. What I hoped for was a change of scenery, what I ended up with was dozens of new friends and a new perspective of Argentina!

En bici a (biking to) Buenos Aires

Full Post: After settling in with a few beers on my first night in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I met up with Eric Bernath a few days later, a fellow solo traveler who started his journey in May 2016 and has been traveling the world.
Eric is a nice guy who with his Vstrom has traveled North America, Central America, Mexico, South America, Africa and is now in Europe. He is still going too and will be in Australia sometime shortly! Follow Eric on Instagram
We just rode around with no real goals. We also did a little shopping, had a bite to eat and just toured the city.
Dakar Motos - Shipping your Motorbike from Buenos Aires
We also met with the people at Dakar Motos, who would be shipping our bikes, mine to Miami and Eric's to Capetown South Africa.
I will write more about this in the next blog post, including a detailed description of what you need to do to ship your motorbike to anywhere in the world from Buenos Aires.
Shipping Motorbike from Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires would also be the city where I had to arrange to ship my motorbike from Buenos AAiresto Miami, Florida, which I will address in detail in the following post.
Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, the balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art. From Wikipedia

More and more city-dwellers are getting in the saddle, but many feel unsafe on roads dominated by cars and trucks. One solution is bike lanes. The Argentine capital Buenos Aires has added more than 160 kilometers of lanes in the last three years.
