Heavenly Descent in Baoshan | China Mountain Biking
Another video of the awesome trails in Baoshan, Yunnan Province. This one involved an uplift and then a brutal 8km climb. Great descent though, hence the length of this film.

Mountain Biking In Beijing, China [E04] | Trail Hunters | The Trail Next Door
‘The Trail Next Door' is an adventure show that follows a team of extreme athletes as they search for unexplored trails and adventure activities close to metropolitan cities. The core idea of the show is to showcase beautiful locations, so close to major cities that normal people eventually pick up a mountain bike, off road vehicle or even head out on foot and explore them. Our goal is to use mountain biking, motocross, trekking and other extreme sports as tools to promote the idea of adventure and exploration that's actually achievable by just about anyone.

Karakoram Highway in HD! Adventure of a Lifetime from Kashgar (China) to Pakistan
Join me as we explore China's Karakoram Highway, one of the highest paved roads in the world with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world...and the perfect place to stage a cycling adventure!
Are you planning a trip along the Karakoram Highway? Grab a copy of the FarWestChina Xinjiang travel guide:
***********************
Equipment I use:
- my drone:
- my stabilized camera:
- my big DSLR:
*********************
The Karakoram Highway stretches from the ancient Silk Road oasis of Kashgar in China's Xinjiang region all the way to Abbottabad in Pakistan. The entire road is about 1300 kilometers and passes by some of the most beautiful scenery that this planet has to offer.
On the Chinese side of the Karakoram Highway, there are a number of great sights to see.
A couple hours outside of Kashgar, the first stop you'll run into is the White Sands Lake (白沙湖), an amazing contrast of what looks like desert meeting a gorgeous lake.
Further south, the amazing Karakul Lake (卡拉库里湖) sits at the base of the Muztaghata mountain, part of the Pamir mountain range. It was here that we stayed in a Kyrgyz yurt along the shore.
Rising in elevation, we cross the Subash pass (苏巴什) and ride through the Taheman Grasslands (塔合曼) before finally arriving at Tashkorgan (塔什库尔干). It's a journey that used to take 10-12 hours by bus but now takes only 5-6 hours thanks to new and improved highways.
If you're considering traveling along the Karakoram Highway, I hope that this video will push you to giving it a try. You won't regret it!
Biking in Yangshuo: Gorgeous sights in the Chinese countryside (CC)
After we checked in to our guest house, the hubs and I rented bikes and rode to nearby Moon Hill. His prediction for the ride? I'm gonna get a sunburn and die of dehydration. What really happened was we saw cows and gorgeous scenery--karst mountains, rice paddies, lovely villages. We got a little muddy. We climbed a BAJILLION stairs. We were exhausted. But happy--very, very happy. (Closed captioned.)
Background: Yangshuo is a beautiful town in Guanxi province, near popular tourist spot, Guilin. We decided that Guilin was a little too crowded for our tastes, so we went a little off the beaten path to Yangshuo, a quieter place. (Of course, Yangshuo isn't exactly off the tourist map--there are plenty of sightseers there, too. It's just not quite as crazy as Guilin.)
We stayed outside of the city at The Giggling Tree inn, where we rented the bikes we rode to Moon Hill. The scenery could not have been more idyllic.
The Giggling Tree:
The Backdrop: We spent May-July in China (eight weeks in total). For the first month, I co-led a study abroad trip that brought sixteen college students to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology to study beginning Chinese. I also co-taught a Travel Writing class. As part of that trip, we went to Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Yellow Mountain, and Slender West Lake. Once the students left for home, my husband Jesse and I traveled around China for a few more weeks. Our travels brought us to Xi'An, Chengdu, Leshan, Jiuzhaigou, Yangshuo, and Hong Kong. It was a life-changing adventure!

Guangxi Province Vlog: Biking the YangShuo Countryside!
instagram.com/timandglo
October 12, 2014
Day 2 in YangShuo was all about biking! We rented two Giant mountain bikes from our hotel, Phoenix Pagoda, for just 50 RMB per bike per day. We set out at about 10:30 with our bikes and map and didn't return to the hotel until around 7:00 pm. We spent most of the day on quiet country roads that wove through villages and rice fields. It was BEAUTIFUL. The terrain was mostly flat although we did encounter two or three hills.
During the middle of the ride we wound up on West Street, which is the heart of YangShuo's tourist industry. It's convenient for shopping, food and accommodation but is absolutely swarming with large tourist groups, especially at night. We recommend staying in other parts of the city and visiting West Street for shopping and dining. We stayed south of YangShuo town in FengLou village, which is close to the YuLong River.
It helped to have a map, but it also led to some frustration because the map was not up-to-date and many of the paths are unmarked. This meant we got lost...a lot. Lol. At one point we were concerned that we wouldn't make it back to a main road before dark, which fortunately wasn't the case. To avoid similar stresses, we recommend starting your day earlier and having a good grasp of distances on the map, which may not be drawn to scale.
Thank you for watching!! And happy travels!!
See you in four days for our next upload! :D

Here's a detailed breakdown of information as mentioned in the film (a table of contents, if you will):
0:30 - Views from the Train Ride from Hong Kong to Yangshuo
1:14 - Arriving in Yangshuo: What is the town like?
A bit of background on the town and how it might not be the nature serenity you are looking for.
1:35 - How to get to the Yangshuo TV Tower Viewpoint (hard climb)
The best views in Yangshuo are accessible from the town centre, but it's a pretty long climb up to the top of a mountain. We followed the instructions on how to get there by ILP Blog, a really good article. Remember to bring 10 Yuan per person:
3:23 - This is what the TV Tower view looks like
4:03 - The Views from Yangshuo Park (easy climb)
A much less physically demanding climb to some nice views over the town. It's a really nice public park too, definitely worth checking out.
4:28 - Our Accommodation, Sudder Street Guesthouse
Great place to stay, just outside the town centre. An amazing pool, with great views. Dorms are £3 a night and private rooms (en-suite) with a balcony are £18.
4:55 - Yangshuo National Park
This is where you'll spend most of your time and where you will find the famous bamboo rafts that you've seen on Instagram. We rented bicycles to get around, but some people rent mopeds/motorbikes instead. You're going to want the freedom of your own transport.
6:00 - Here's the bamboo rafts
6:26 - Moon Hill, my favourite sunset spot (and favourite part of Yangshuo in general). A natural archway that has featured in one of the Transformers films I think.
And thats it. Any questions, let me know in the comments!

Go HERE To See The Great Wall Of China WITHOUT Crowds (China Vlog 2019)
Would you like to see the Great Wall of China, plus very dramatic surrounding landscapes, but minus the HUGE crowds that visit the Badaling section outside Beijing? Then head to the Jinshanling section! A bit more remote if you're visiting from Beijing, this section is said to be the most beautiful stretch of wall remaining today. Having been there ourselves, and of course after having our drone do a little spin around the area, we can easily see why! Probably the best part of our China trip 2019 so far!!
We hope you enjoyed this China vlog - there are many more to come as we travel China for the next few weeks! NEXT UP: the Summer Palace, the Beijing summer home of China's former emperors. China Tour
6 October – 5 November 2016
We started our #China Tour in #Beijing. In Beijing we visited the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven. After hiking the Great Wall of China we visited the Terra Cotta Army in Xi’an. The next highlight was the Labrang Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Xiahe. We were surprised by the fresh snow on our way to Langmusi. The monastery and the gorge were both well worth to visit. The road to Songpan through the Grasslands was wonderful. Near Songpan we visited Huanglong National Park with all kinds of small lakes in amazing colors. Off course we did not forget to visit the Giant Pandas in the Chengdu Pandas Reserve. In Shangri-la it was time for action again. We first get the Giant Prayer Wheel in motion and made a nice tour on a bike in the afternoon. More action was required in the two days trekking through the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Near Lijiang we climbed the 5596m high Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Unfortunately we had to stop at an altitude of 4567m. In Dali we faced bad weather. We hardly could see the three famous Pagodas. In Yangshou we rafted, biked and hiked to enjoy of the beautiful Karst Landscape. At last Shanghai showed us how modern China is as well. The Shanghai Tower is with 632m the second highest tower on earth. With the Maglev (the magnetic train) you travel with 430km/h to the airport.

POV Full Run - WORLD'S LARGEST PARKOUR COURSE | Calen Chan
My name is Calen Chan, and this is a FULL POV RUN of the Skyladder Parkour course at Tianmen Mountain in China! I had the wonderful opportunity to come and play here at this beautiful location called Heaven's Gate. It has an average incline of 45 degrees, and is 999 steps long (about 3 football fields)! Obviously this was difficult, and I physically couldn't sprint down the entire path of deadly drops without slowing down, but I did my best! I am the only person to do the whole thing with a GoPro in my mouth, so please help a guy out and give it a share! ;)
