Bimini, Bahamas: I Spy Sharks!
These days, sharks face many challenges. Their populations are decreasing at a critical rate due to overfishing, legislation, and carelessness. This video shows sharks from multiple perspectives and was made to help you get passionate about sharks. They are a vital component to a healthy reef and marine ecosystem and we need them in our world. I ask you not to fear sharks, but to admire and respect them.

Visting Bimini Biological Field Station Sharklab - JetBoaters.net 2017 Bimini Fling
During our Bimini Fling many of us visit the BFFS Sharklab to learn about and touch sharks. This research facility is staffed by friendly graduate students from all over the world. We always enjoy meeting the sharks and the Sharklab Crew. These juvenile sharks are studied, presented and then released back into their natural habitat.
Critically Endangered Smalltooth Sawfish (pristis pectinata), filmed using drone in Bimini, Bahamas!
Filmed by the Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation, using DJI phantom drone. This species is sighted rarely, but known to use the islands of Bimini occasionally.
This clip is a segment of a 7 minute track of this incredible species, as it swims across the sandy shallows of Bimini.

Marine Science Hangout LIVE at the Bimini Sharklab
Welcome to Sharks4Kids Marine Science Hangout, our 2nd for the new school year! Each month we connect with a different marine scientist or ocean explorer to learn about our oceans (spoiler alert, sharks might be featured once or twice!). Anybody can watch live and we'll pick 3 classes for each session to participate directly on screen. The format will consist of a lesson followed by a Q&A session. Questions can be sent in advance, asked live via the chat sidebar and of course from the onscreen classes.
We will be broadcasting live from the South Island of Bimini in the Bahamas! Sharks4Kids founder and marine biologist Jillian Morris will be joined by members from the Bimini Biological Field Station ( biminisharklab.com) to do a live shark 'work up' at the lab. Your class won’t want to miss the opportunity to see live science in action. Along with our special wild shark guest, there will be plenty of time to ask questions!
The goal of Sharks4Kids is to create a new generation of shark advocates through access to a dynamic range of educational materials. Curriculum, games, activities, photos and videos from scientists, videographers and conservationists bring an exciting element into the classroom and show students the beauty of sharks and the ocean. A unique opportunity for the next generation to learn why sharks need kids and kids need sharks.
Creating the next generation of shark advocates through education, outreach and adventure!
