Bimini is the true “Island in the Stream,” perched at the edge of a sheer underwater cliff that falls thousands of feet into the blue abyss. There is an array of experiences for both novice and advanced divers, with the best dive sites in the south. The Bimini Road (Bimini Wall) plummets a heart-thumping 4,000 feet beneath the sea. Wrecks include several sunken Spanish galleons, a WWI freighter wreck, and the battered concrete hull of The Sapona. You can also explore magnificent reefs ranging from 18-80 feet, teeming with every kind of marine life. Not far off its northwest shore, in about fifteen feet of water, rests the Bimini Road, a long and linear rock formation of astounding uniformity. In 1939, the renowned psychic Edgar Cayce predicted that proof of Atlantis would be found in 1968 off the coast of Bimini. Exactly 29 years later, scientists flying over Bimini observed a massive, submerged shape in the ocean. Since then, innumerable researchers have studied and divers explored this mysterious wonder, incapable of arriving at any definitive explanation.
