Let the fun begin....
Mahahual - Grand Costa Maya Mexico - YouTube HD
This is the quint essential Mexican coastal fishing village that you just don't see or hear about, tucked away in the Yucatan Peninsula, the Grand Costa Maya has the charm that more developed cities have lost.
Very laid back, the town only comes alive when cruise ships dock at the Port of Costa Maya, Mahahual would be a great place to spend a week or two or longer.

Mahahual Mexico - One of the most beautiful destinations in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mahahual is the largest city in Costa Maya. Only 3 miles from the Port of Costa Maya and the cruise ship port. There are many tours and activities available but you could just take a taxi from the port to Mahahual and enjoy the day. BTW the food is exceptional, sand is soft, water is clear and there are lots of local things to do, like fly fishing right off the beach, paddle board, sailing, snorkeling etc.

Mauro Vargas en el estero de Chac
This is the first mile (aprox) of the ESTERO DE CHAC going from the RIO HONDO to BACALAR. The Rio Hondo it's the natural frontier that divides México with Belize, and runs from the Bahia de Chetumal in to Guatemala. The Estero de Chac it's a small arm of the Rio Hondo that was used by the pirates of the Caribbean in the XVII century to get to Bacalar (the 7 colors lagoon). All this is Quintana Roo state, one of the 3 states that conform the Yucatan Peninsula and typically known for its natural beauties in the north (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, etc). In this video we can appreciate something that less than 1% of local people have ever seen, we all know it's there, but only a few of us have ever been there. Please take note, from Chetumal´s pear to the point where this video was taken, on any average boat (just like the one on the video) it would take anyone no more than 10 to 15 minutes to get there... it´s that close or what?
