Tonys Tropical Tours of the Daintree Rainforest Australia
The stretch from the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation is one of the most visited areas of the Daintree Rainforest and for many visitors this is as far as they venture to.
Further north though is the Bloomfield Track, a good 33kms of off road driving from Cape Tribulation to The Bloomfield Falls. The road follows on to Cooktown. This area is one that many locals and visitors alike never experience. The coastal drive is full of spectacular beaches, views, creek and river crossings, majestic trees and history.
West of Port Douglas is the Great Diving Range which leads to the Atherton Tablelands via the Rex Range. The road begins just north of Port Douglas and meanders along the Rex Range climbing about 800 metres above sea level. The Atherton Tablelands has much to offer and makes a great day out.

Daintree is a national park in Far North Queensland, Australia, 1,502 km (933 mi) northwest of Brisbane and 100 km (62 mi) northwest of Cairns. It was founded in 1981[1] and is part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland. In 1988 it became a World Heritage Site.[1][2] The park consists of two sections, with a settled agricultural area between them which includes the towns of Mossman and Daintree Village.
The main entrance to Daintree National Park is located south of the Daintree River at Mossman Gorge. However, the words 'Daintree National Park' have been painted out on all street signs in Mossman by the previous Douglas Shire council, in order to direct visitors to the tourist area north of the Daintree River.
Daintree National Park is valued because of its exceptional biodiversity.[3] It contains significant habitat for rare species and prolific birdlife. The name is derived from the Daintree River, which was named by George Elphinstone Dalrymple, an early explorer of the area, after his friend Richard Daintree

Daintree Wild Zoo is conveniently located to include a rainforest day trip from Cairns or Port Douglas (click for Location). The Sanctuary is the only wildlife nature park or zoo in Daintree World Heritage listed rainforest. LOOK at the wildlife either as a day visitor or, if staying at the zoo's affordable accommodation, the morning provides a true experience of 'breakfast with the birds', mammals and reptiles. Overnight guests also receive a 50% discount on the zoo entry. LISTEN to the sounds of nature. The morning chorus as the wildlife awakens or the afternoon cacophony as the diurnal wildlife have a late feed and pave the way for the nocturnal creatures to indulge in the nightlife. TOUCH the many 'touchable' birds and mammals including any new babies such as cassowary, emu and dingo. Have your photo taken with Teddy our friendly Red Tailed Black Cockatoo and our friendly kangaroos and wallabies or hand feed Fruit Loop our resident Cassowary. Crocodile 'touching' is strictly for our experienced staff. See our wildlife checklist for a complete inventory of the fauna which inhabits the Sanctuary. SMELL the scents of varying flowering native and exotic flora abundant throughout the Sanctuary. TASTE tropical fruits for breakfast. See Menu for the selection available for dinner.
