We had staff and students from Cork Institute of Technology visit our showrooms in Bishopstown.

It was great to be able to engage with students and staff and able to show the realities of working in a trade that has a multitude of roles and opportunities for advancement.

The Hi-B Bar welcomes you.

A pictorial view of the Hi-B and surrounding area to attempt in some small way to show those that have already been what they were a part of and those that have not yet visited what they are missing.

The Hi-B bar is an institution in Cork for so many years now that most couldn't tell you for how long. But talk with Brian O'Donnell the proprietor of the Hi-B and you will uncover a wealth of history and stories about so much you wonder how he could have had the time to amass such a wealth of information. You will leave enriched by your experience of meeting with him.

Equally though, you might catch him on one of his not so good days and you will simply find out you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it's definitely worth try as a good visit will most leave you with a smile on your face, knowing you will return again and maybe to bring some friends with you next time to share the experience.

The bar is on the first floor and has been said many times to resemble an old fashioned front room. Anyone will tell you this place hasn't changed for forever and this is part of it's unique charm.

On Wednesday and Thursday evening there is live music provided by retired German professor of music Franz Frank who flies in from Munich to tinkle the ivories.

Teenage Wall Session in Bishopstown

A Super-Touch Teenage Coaching Clinic was organised for boys living in Cork City aged 15 to 16 in Bishopstown GAA On Friday June 17th at 11 am. These sessions are coordinated by John Neville, Cork Urban Development Officer. Eoghan Cronin - Glen Rovers -- was also present to give his coaching advice. Eoghan is a graduate of CIT Recreation and Leisure as of 2010. In total there were 16 teenagers present in Bishopstown; state exams have tied up many of those invited to the clinic.
The theme of the session on Friday June 17th was to work on long striking as well as physical conditioning and strength work for hurling. Quick striking was also worked on in Bishopstown's new Hurling Alley.
