Mayo Clinic Exhibit Rolls Into Bismarck
A piece of Mayo Clinic rolls into Bismarck. Mayo Clinic is celebrating 150 years by touring the United States and Canada with this interactive mobile exhibit.
The truck is filled with education, history and stories of patients who've received help at Mayo Clinic. The truck will travel 35-thousand miles during the 7 month trip across United States and Canada-making 45 stops.
(Alexander G. von Bormann / Mayo Clinic) We wanted to bring this large truck and display to share with the people of Bismarck, North Dakota and colleges of St. Alexius the message of healing and serving humanity that we have celebrated and shared since our founding fathers, the Mayo brothers have put it into action, those words into action through the Mayo Clinic.
(Julie Skaret / St. Alexius Medical Center): Working with Mayo clinic we are able to keep our patients here in Bismarck. They don't have to leave their families. They don't have to leave their children and their parents. They can stay right here in Bismarck. We can treat them.
Tomorrow the Mayo Exhibit will be on display in Grand Forks at Altru Hospital.

About Capitalism
Henry Rollins traverses 50 states with a politically-themed talk show, culminating with an election-eve performance in Washington D.C. on November 5th. This two-month tour will stop in each state capital -- starting September 6 at Hawaiian Brian's in Honolulu, HI, venturing through places like the Diamond Ball Room in Oklahoma City, T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota and ending up in Washington, D.C., Henry's hometown. Henry's latest tour offers not so much a voting guide, but an unveiling of Henry's very own political viewpoint -- an unflinching quest for truth.
About Henry Rollins
For better than a quarter century, Henry Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and -- without a microphone -- as a solitary traveler with insatiable curiosity. When he's not living out of a suitcase, Rollins is constantly at work as an actor, radio DJ, author of more than 20 books, and running his publishing company and record label 2.13.61. Henry currently hosts a weekly radio show on L.A.'s renowned NPR affiliate KCRW, and is a regular contributor to VanityFair.com with his Straight Talk Espresso blog.

SINK THE BISMARCK: Short Summary - The World War II story of the British Navy's effort to defeat Nazi Germany's most powerful warship.
SINK THE BISMARCK: Full Synopsis - In 1941 Captain Jonathan Shepard takes over as Director of Operations at naval headquarters in London just as they receive reports that the Bismarck, the pride of the German navy, is going out to sea in the North Atlantic. Shepard argues in favor of moving as many ships as possible to the area to find her. In their first encounter with the Bismarck, the Royal Navy loses HMS Hood, the largest ship in the fleet while HMS Prince of Wales is severely damaged. Shepard then transfers ships from the Mediterranean fleet to go after Bismarck; they include the aircraft carrier Ark Royal on which his son Tom is serving as an aircraft gunner. Damaged in a second encounter, the Bismarck heads for Brest on the French coast and the safety of German coastal defenses and air cover. The only ship in range is the Ark Royal but in their first air sortie, they inadvertently attack HMS Sheffield when they mistake it for the Bismarck. In the second air sortie, they damage the Bismarck sufficiently to allow the surface fleet to catch up to her and sink her.

FEMA National Level Exercise 2009. NLE 2009 July 27-31.
UPDATE JULY 26th JUST PUT UP ON FEMA WEBSITE: California, in FEMA Region IX, is also participating. UPDATE: JULY 25, I CANNOT FIND ONE IOTA FROM INFRAGARD LA ON THEIR PARTICIPATION AT NLE.
ON THEIR CALENDAR FOR JULY IS ONE NOTE: BOARD MEETING JULY 9. ANYONE GOT INFRAGARD ACTIVITIES???
FEMA National Exercise 2009! Formerly known as TOPOFF ! Includes private sector! What a coincidence, the private sector FBI organization called InfraGard in our area is up to 26K members! New provisions in FEMA 2009 exercise!
Some ask what is the big deal about asking private citizens to open homes for inspection to help the cause! I ask, what else could you be doing to protect us, OK?
FROM FEMA: NLE 09 is a White House directed, Congressionally- mandated exercise that includes the participation of all appropriate federal department and agency senior officials, their deputies, staff and key operational elements. In addition, broad regional participation of state, tribal, local, and private sector is anticipated. This year the United States welcomes the participation of Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom in NLE 09.
The NLE 09 scenario will begin in the aftermath of a notional terrorist event outside of the United States, and exercise play will center on preventing subsequent efforts by the terrorists to enter the United States and carry out additional attacks. This scenario enables participating senior officials to focus on issues related to preventing terrorist events domestically and protecting U.S. critical infrastructure.
NLE 09 will allow terrorism prevention efforts to proceed to a logical end (successful or not), with no requirement for response or recovery activities.
NLE 09 will be an operations-based exercise to include: activities taking place at command posts, emergency operation centers, intelligence centers and potential field locations to include federal headquarters facilities in the Washington D.C. area, and in federal, regional, state, tribal, local and private sector facilities in FEMA Region VI, which includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas.
