Yes, that's correct.

Everything was ready for his (Milosevic's) extradition. He was supposed to have a hearing today and at around 1400 the government was to give a decision on the extradition. One comes to something that is political reality. And political reality is actually the Hague tribunal, its existence, the necessity of cooperation with it and I think one way or another that there are all those political and legal delays must go together - or go away together - and come to acceptance of that decree and the necessity of the cooperation with the Hague tribunal at least as a lesser evil.
11. Wide shot of press
STORYLINE:
President Vojislav Kostunica acknowledged on Tuesday that moves to extradite Slobodan Milosevic to the U.N. war crimes tribunal was the result of U.S. pressure on his government.
Speaking to reporters in the capital, Belgrade, Kostunica - a critic of the international court - sought to distance himself from Milosevic's future hand-over, indicating the extradition decision was made against his will.
Kostunica's comments signaled that the president's opposition to having Yugoslav citizens stand trial at the U.N. tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, has not changed, although he has not tried to block efforts at Milosevic's extradition.
Earlier on Tuesday, Milosevic's lawyers met with the head of the Belgrade District Court, which is to decide upon the request from the U.N. war crimes tribunal to surrender the former president.
One of the attorneys, Branimir Gugl, confirmed that the extradition demand had arrived at the court on Monday, a move that marked the start of a legal procedure for Milosevic's hand-over to The Hague court.
Gugl said Milosevic now has 24 hours to choose a defence lawyer in the extradition case, after which he will be questioned and will also have a three-day appeal period if the court decides that he should be handed over.
The earliest possible time when the appeal process will be over is midnight on Monday, Gugl said of the legal framework for Milosevic's extradition.
However, he suggested that the authorities could try to speed up the process.
Gugl and his colleagues from Milosevic's 10-member defence team on Monday also brought their client's case before Yugoslavia's Constitutional court demanding that a government decree enabling Milosevic's extradition be declared illegal.
The authorities in Yugoslavia and its main republic Serbia, have recently intensified efforts at cooperation with The Hague war crimes court, apparently hoping to win crucial U.S. and other Western support ahead of Friday's conference in Brussels, Belgium, meant to raise pledges of financial aid for Yugoslavia.
If extradited, Milosevic would be the first former head of state to face a war crimes trial in front of the U.N. court, established in 1992.

STORYLINE:
Belgrade residents on Monday paid their last respects to Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Pavle, who died on Sunday, aged 95.
Thousands queued outside the Saborna Church in Belgrade, where Pavle's body was displayed in an open casket.
Pavle called for peace and conciliation during the Balkan ethnic wars of the 1990s but failed to openly condemn extreme Serb nationalism.
There have been reports of an internal struggle over who would succeed Pavle, a respected theologian and linguist known for his personal humility and modesty. The favourite is influential Bishop Amfilohije, a hard-liner known for his anti-Western and ultra-nationalist stance.
The seven-million member church said its highest body, the Holy Synod, could announce on Monday when Pavle's successor will be chosen. At least 40 days must pass after Pavle's death before a new patriarch can be elected.
Pavle took over the church in 1990 just as the collapse of communism ended years of state policy of repressing religion. He often spoke against violence in the ethnic wars Orthodox Serbs fought against Catholic Croats and Bosnian Muslims during the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II.
God help us understand that we are human beings and that we must live as human beings, so that peace would come into our country and bring an end to the killing, Pavle had appealed - mostly in vain - in 1991 as fighting raged between Serbs and Croats over disputed territories in Croatia.
It is only the will of the devil that is served by this war, the patriarch was quoted as saying in 1992, but stopped short of naming names, notably not going explicitly against former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic's ultra-nationalist policies, which triggered the wars.
The Serbian Church eventually broke with its tradition of formal neutrality in 2000, openly urging the Serbian strongman to step down after the regimes humiliating defeat in 1999 following NATO bombing that ended Milosevic's crackdown against ethnic Albanian separatists in Kosovo.
The church's demand for Milosevic's resignation - which he ignored - helped lead to the popular revolt that eventually ousted the autocratic president in October 2000. Milosevic died in 2006 during his trial on war crimes charges at a UN tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands.
Pavle had been hospitalised for two years with heart and lung problems and died of cardiac arrest in his sleep, the church and the Belgrade Military Hospital said.

8. Mid shot, prison windows
9. Toma Fila, Milosevic's Defence Lawyer, walking away
STORYLINE:
Belgrade's District Court on Monday extended former President Slobodan Milosevic's stay in jail for two more months, his defence lawyer Toma Fila told APTN in Belgrade on Monday.
Fila said the decision was expected and the detention was prolonged for the same reasons he was put in jail in the first place.
Fila also said that Milosevic's health was still the same and that he was suffering from high blood pressure.
Milosevic was arrested on April 1 on suspicion of corruption and abuse of power during his 13 years in power.
The Belgrade court ordered him to be detained for a month, pending investigations.
Even ahead of any official ruling, Serbian television last week reported that his detention had been extended.
The network, citing unidentified court sources, said the decision had been made because of fears that Milosevic could flee the country or influence potential witnesses.
Milosevic is being held in a specially refurbished cell in Belgrade's Central Prison but his lawyer, his Socialist Party, and other allies have claimed that conditions there are inadequate and threaten the former president's health.
Milosevic, 59, suffers from high blood pressure and has complained of chest pains while in custody.
Earlier in April, he was rushed to a military hospital after such an episode but was returned to jail after three days, after military physicians pronounced him fit.
The former Yugoslav president is also wanted by the U-N war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, which indicted him for alleged atrocities committed against ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, the southern province of Serbia, Yugoslavia's dominant republic.
The new, pro-democracy government which replaced Milosevic's autocratic regime has been unclear on whether it will ever extradite him to The Hague tribunal, insisting that in any event, Milosevic must first be tried at home for alleged wrongdoing against his own people.
Fila has accused the authorities of dragging out the case without advancing it.
Milosevic has denied all accusations.

THE NETHERLANDS: DUSAN TADIC COURT APPEAL DISMISSED
English/Nat
United Nations' appeals judges have ruled that Bosnian Serb war criminal was wrongly acquitted of murdering five Bosnian Moslems during a 1997 war crimes trial.
The appeals chamber at The Hague's International Criminal Tribunal also dismissed an appeal by Dusan Tadic, after he was convicted in the same trial of murdering two Bosnian Moslem policemen.
Dusan Tadic, a former cafe owner, claimed he was unfairly tried and convicted in 1997 of murdering two Bosnian Moslem policemen, but his appeal was rejected on Thursday in The Hague.
Tadic argued that Bosnian Serb authorities prevented his lawyers building a case on his behalf.
But the appeals chamber at The Hague's International Criminal Tribunal not only denied Tadic's appeal but upheld the prosecutors' appeals that the trial judges should have convicted Tadic of the five murders.
That means Tadic, who was sentenced in 1997 to 20 years imprisonment, now faces a potentially longer jail term.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Reverses the trial chamber's verdict in this part and finds the appellant guilty on counts eight, nine, twelve, fifteen, twenty-one and thirty-two of the indictment.
SUPER CAPTION: Judge Mohamed Shahabuddeen of Guyana, International War Crimes Tribunal
In May 1997, Tadic was convicted of two murders and the torture of dozens of non-Serbs in a 1992 ethnic purge of Bosnian Muslims and Croats by Serb forces in northwest Bosnia.
Tadic appealed his convictions, saying they were not proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Appeals judges rejected both arguments.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
The appellants appeal against judgement is dismissed. The prosecutors cross-appeal against judgement is allowed.
SUPER CAPTION: Judge Mohamed Shahabuddeen of Guyana, International War Crimes Tribunal
The Omarska detention camp, where Tadic is accused of actively participating in murder, rape and torture, was one of the most feared camps of the Bosnian War.
An estimated 10-thousand Bosnian Croats and Muslims passed through the Serb detention centre between 1992 and 1993.
Around two-thousand of them are thought to have died.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Dusan Tadic was originally sentenced to twenty years in prison. At the appeal today, they have considered his appeal which they have rejected. On all counts they have upheld, however, the prosecution's cross-appeal and found him guilty on a further nine charges. They will determine his sentencing at a later date. They now have to have time to consider the new charges that he's been found guilty of.
SUPER CAPTION: Jim Lansdale, Tribunal spokesman confirming the verdict
The hearing lasted 25 (twenty-five) minutes before Tadic was led out of court by armed U-N guards.

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Alexandra Milanov, United Nations Spokesperson:
The tribunal has received a brief summary of the autopsy results. According to the pathologists, Slobodan Milosevic's cause of death was a mild myocardial infarction. Further, the pathologists identified two heart conditions that Slobodan Milosevic suffered from, which they said would explain the mild myocardial infarction. The prosecution service of the Hague informed the registrar that a toxicological examination will still be carried out. The tribunal has been informed that the final report will be issued as soon as possible. Slobodan Milosevic's remains will be released to the family tomorrow.
(Off-screen reporter question: Is it possible the heart attack could have been caused by what Milosevic's lawyer claimed this afternoon, poison?)
I think it is too early to come to any sort of conclusions in relation to that. The investigation that the Dutch authorities are conducted still hasn't been concluded, they still have yet to issue a final report. In addition, I should also that the enquiry that the Tribunal President Judge Fausto Pocar ordered, is still ongoing and I think we should also await the results of that before we come to any final conclusions.

Preliminary autopsy results show Slobodan Milosevic died of a heart attack, the U.N. war crimes tribunal said on Sunday.
In a statement, the court said Milosevic's remains will be released to his family on Monday.
The Tribunal has received a brief summary of the autopsy results, it said. According to the pathologists, Slobodan Milosevic's cause of death was a 'myocardial infarction' - a heart attack.
Tribunal spokeswoman Alexandra Milenov said the autopsy revealed Milosevic had been suffering from two heart conditions.
She did not name the conditions, but said the doctors determined they might have caused the heart attack.
Asked if poisoning could have caused the heart attack, Milenov said it was too early to draw conclusions.
Rumours of death by poisoning gathered pace on Sunday when claims emerged that traces of a drug used to treat leprosy and tuberculosis had been found in a recent blood sample taken in order to establish why Milosevic's medication for high blood pressure was not working.
Milosevic, 64, was found dead on Saturday morning in his prison cell near The Hague.
Milenov said Pocar's enquiry was still ongoing: I think we should also wait for that until we come to any final conclusions.

STORYLINE
Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was transferred to a UN jail cell at The Hague on Wednesday to await trial on charges of waging a genocidal war against non-Serbs during the Balkan wars of the 1990s.
Three jeeps with tinted windows left a court building in Belgrade at about 3:45 am (0145 GMT) early Wednesday.
An official of the prosecution office, who spoke on condition of anonymity because she was not authorised to speak to the media, confirmed to The Associated Press that Karadzic was in one of those jeeps.
A short time later, the same vehicles arrived at Belgrade airport from where Karadzic was flown to the UN court in the Netherlands.
The tribunal declined to give details of the transfer, citing security in future cases.
But the confirmation came shortly after a helicopter landed behind the high wall of the jail while another helicopter hovered overhead.
Two black minivans drove through the prison gates moments earlier.
His arrival at the Hague marked the end of a 13-year effort by the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal to take custody of its most wanted war criminal, accused of responsibility for the deaths of tens of thousands of people and the sufferings of hundreds of thousands of Bosnian Muslims and Croats.
Karadzic was arrested last week in Belgrade, only a few weeks after Boris Tadic's government came to power.
He is still revered by many as a wartime hero for helping to create the Bosnian Serb mini-state.
Officials say the war crimes suspect was captured on 21 July in Belgrade, where he lived under the assumed identity of a health guru, with long white beard and hair, and large glasses.

We have no official notification from the Serbian authorities as yet, so we do not know the precise date of his arrival. We do understand that the legal procedure in Serbia is under way, and that it is nearing its last part, so after the appeal has been dealt with we will be notified about when the actual transfer will take place.

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Nerma Jelacic, ICTY spokeswoman:
We have a medical unit in the detention unit which is able to provide care around the clock but we also have access to prison facilities of the Dutch system, as well as the civilian hospitals, as well as experts on certain illnesses.
6. Cutaway of shadow of camera
7. SOUNDBITE (English) Nerma Jelacic, ICTY spokeswoman:
Well, all the detainees have to go through the same procedure upon their arrival which is to have a medical examination, to be introduced to the rules that govern life in the detention unit and the work of the tribunal and to be introduced to their rights in terms of putting together their defence team. After that is done he'll be put in a detention cell. All the cells are the same so there is no difference. There are about thirty six other individuals currently in custody of the tribunal spread across three wings within the building, so he will be put in one of those three wings.
8. Cutaway of satellite vans outside ICTY
9. SOUNDBITE (Bosnian) Nerma Jelacic, ICTY spokeswoman:
(asked whether Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb leader on trial before the UN tribunal, and Mladic will be tried together)
It is premature to speak about the joining of these two files (Karadzic and Mladic's files) again. As you know if the court is to decide about that, such a request has to be filed to them. So, one of the sides in the proceedings, whether it be the prosecution or defence, has to request this in order for it to be considered.

A spokeswoman for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) said on Monday that preparations were well underway for the expected arrival of war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic, who is currently awaiting extradition to The Hague, Netherlands.
Nerma Jelacic said the court did not yet know the exact date of Mladic's arrival, but added that the court would be fully capable of dealing with the general who is believed to be suffering from poor health, according to his family.
We do understand that the legal procedure in Serbia is under way, and that it is nearing its last part, so after the appeal has been dealt with we will be notified about when the actual transfer will take place, Jelacic said.
Mladic's family and lawyers have been fighting his extradition, arguing that the general is too ill to face charges.
On Monday, his lawyer Milos Saljic asked for a battery of doctors to examine the 69-year old.
Mladic was arrested last week after 16 years on the run, and is said to have suffered at least two strokes.
But Bruno Vekaric, Serbia's deputy war crimes prosecutor, says Mladic is employing delaying tactic and nothing should prevent his extradition.
Jelacic said the ICTY would be able to accommodate Mladic adequately.
The spokeswoman also said it was too early to say if Mladic and Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb leader on trial before the UN tribunal, would be tried together.
