Day 6: an encounter with a bear! We love wildlife!
Are you ready to travel with us?
Leave everything and wander” is the result of Sara Bertagnolli’s and Luca Sguazzini’s desire to join their own skills and realize a dream: that of traveling, leaving the certainties and securities of everyday life behind.
After university Sara achieved high-level professional goals in the field of management and became the personal assistant to the fashion designer Philipp Plein.
Luca has been traveling a lot since he was a child and the last year he gained notoriety for his participation in the Italian version of “Dancing with the stars”; he has more than 138k followers on Instagram and 50k on Facebook.
They have decided to join forces and to tell a life out of the ordinary on social networks. The plan is to travel through Canada, Alaska and, in a second moment, United States, Messico and South America and to share the trip’s photos and videos on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram, giving to everyone the possibility to experience the “wander-spirit”.
Traveling without temporal or spatial limits will give Sara and Luca the possibility to entangle their story with that of people they will meet on the road and to discover new cultures, visiting also the places which are not famous, the ones which often have the biggest surprises in store.
The start-up budget will be limited in order to demonstrate that – also without great economical resources – everything is possible if you put the work in and involve as many people as possible.

GrizzLee Stories From The North: Ep5 - Finishing the Canol Road
GrizzLee Stories From The North: Episode 5 - Finishing the Canol Road
Continuing from Episode 4.....
Going back out the Canol wasn’t as exciting as it was coming up. Time constraints, and the rain just dampened the mood. It was turning out to be a very wet summer up here. The Yukon interior is usually pretty dry and arid in the summer. Perhaps climate change was the reason. This type of weather would haunt me for most of time on this trip.
My next destination… Dawson City, The Dempster Highway and Tuktoyuktuk.
Thanks for Riding with me,
~GrizzLee

Day 6: we are traveling on the Alaska Highway (or Alcan Highway).
After sleeping ( boondocking ) at 8 km before Haines Junction in a beautiful spot in the woods.
After a really close encounter with a bear!
We stopped at Haines Junction to upload the video online in the visitor center. Kluane National Park and Reserve Visitor Centre.
We are on the road to Alaska and the landscape is absolutely amazing!
Kluane National Park and Reserve - Kluane Ranges - Kluane Lake - Slim River Valley - Tachal Dhal or Sheep Mountain -
We stopped to cook some dinner with a nice fire and then we kept traveling till a beautiful boondock spot for the night just 3 km before Beaver Creek.
We saw the dust coming from the Slim River Valley blowing across Kluane Lake. Te Slim River is drying up, according to experts, because the Kaskawulsh Glacier has retreated so far that its meltwater is flowing in a different direction, rather than feeding Slims River.

Alaska Tour - Watson Lake, Yukon Terr. - Stop #4
Today we continued our Alaska Tour towards Watson Lake in the Yukon Territory of Canada!
During our drive, we stopped at the Cassiar Mountain Jade Store where 90% of the world wide Jade is mined! This place was quite large, and busy. It just so happened that the Discovery Channel was there filming for an upcoming special on Jade to be aired sometime next year, and we were all asked to sign waivers just in case we were viewed during the show!!
We then continued our drive to Watson Lake and arrived just in time to put up the retired NH 'JEANNIE' license plate in the Sign Post Forest! I helped Jeannie put it up on a post at the top, near the front for all passersbys to see!

HIKE THE CANOL TRAIL - One of Canada's most exciting hiking trails
Take a hike back in time on the Canol Trail in the Sahtu Region of Canada's Northwest Territories!
Walk amongst the remnants of the historic Canol Trail, a pipeline that was constructed from Norman Wells to Whitehorse and intended to supply the American Troops during the War. Hiking the Canol Trail means experiencing the vastness of the landscape and witnessing the significance of the pipeline that took thousands of men only two years to complete.
