Egypt - Baharija - Black Deserts - 2011 in (4k)
El-Wahat el-Bahariya or el-Bahariya (Arabic: الواحات البحرية, al-Wāḥāt al-Baḥrīya, meaning the Seaside Oases) is a depression in Egypt. It is approximately 370 km away from Cairo. Located in Giza Governorate, the main economic sectors are agriculture, iron ore mining, and tourism. The main agricultural products are guavas, mangos, dates, and olives.
Bahariya consists of many villages of which El Bawiti is the largest and the administrative center. Qasr is el-Bawiti's neighboring/twin village. To the east, about ten kilometers away are the villages of Mandishah and el-Zabu. A smaller village called el-'Aguz lies between El Bawiti and Mandishah. Harrah, the eastern most village, is a few kilometers east of Mandishah and el-Zabu. El Heiz is the southern most village, but it may not always be considered as part of Bahariya because it is so far from the rest of the villages, about fifty kilometers south of El Bawiti.
People and culture
The people of the oasis, or the Waḥātī people (meaning of the oasis in Arabic), are the descendants of the ancient people who inhabited the oasis, Bedouin tribes from Libya and the north coast, and other people from the Nile Valley who came to settle in the oasis.
The majority of Waḥātī people in Bahariya are Muslims. There are some mosques in Bahariya. The nature of social settings in the oasis is highly influenced by Islam.
Also, traditional music is very important to the Waḥātī people. Flutes, drums, and the simsimeyya (a harp-like instrument) are played at social gatherings, particularly at weddings. Traditional songs sung in rural style are passed down from generation to generation, and new songs are invented as well. Music from Cairo, the greater Middle East, and other parts of the world are now easily accessible to the people of the oasis.
In Ancient Egypt the depression was known under two names. The form Djesdjes is first mentioned on a scarab dating back to the Middle Kingdom. In the New Kingdom, however, this name is rarely found, but does appear for example in the Temple of Luxor or in the account of King Kamose, who occupied the oasis during the war against the Hyksos. From the 25th Dynasty it was almost the only name used. The other name Wḥ3.t mḥty.t (the Seaside Oasis) was almost exclusively used in the New Kingdom, it appears for instance on the local grave of Amenhotep, and is found again in the list of oasis in the Temple at Edfu.
From 45 CE the depression is known in Latin as Oasis parva (Small Oasis). The Greek historian Strabo (63 BCE – 23 CE) calls it the ‘Second Oasis’; the historian Olympiodorus of Thebes (5th century CE: Byzantine Era) calls it ‘the Third Oasis. In Coptic times it was known as the Oasis of Pemdje (the ancient Oxyrhynchos, nowadays known as al-Bahnasa) and in Islamic times it was called the Oasis of Bahnasa.
The modern name is الواحات البحرية, al-Wāḥāt al-Baḥriyya meaning the Seaside Oasis”. The southern part of the depression around El Heiz apparently never had a separate name.

Highlights: Cairo and Giza, Egypt - Pyramids, Sphinx, Nile (GoPro) ????????????????
On August 2019, I was in an Egypt (mainly Cairo and Giza) for 3 days and had the chance to film everything with my GoPro 4:
During this 3 days trip, it was visited:
Cairo | Downtown
Giza | Giza Necropolis / Giza Pyramids / Pharaoh Sites / Mummies
Giza | Great Sphinx of Giza
Cairo | Dinner Nile River View
Why Go To Cairo?
The desert heat, the noisy streets and the sheer size of Cairo will leave even the most adaptable traveler with a serious case of culture shock. The constant bombardment of street vendors, the inescapable aroma of livestock and the seemingly chaotic way of life will joggle the senses. But be patient. Take some time to relax over a cup of tea, to wander the ancient streets and to watch the sun lower over the mighty Nile River. It won't take long for the city's treasures to reveal themselves.
Most visitors flock to Egypt's capital to explore the wonders of the ancient world, following the footsteps of the pharaohs. But there are two sides to Cairo; the city's residents embrace their history and rejoice in their progress. The ancient pyramids of Giza, Dahshur, and Saqqara fight with the trendy bars of the Zamalek and Heliopolis neighborhoods for the spotlight. Honking taxi cabs vie for space with braying donkeys in the narrow streets. And the traditional Islamic call to prayer, lounge music, and boisterous banter can be heard simultaneously. The only way to get a true sense of Cairo is to take the old with the new.

The Mystery Of The Black Mummy (Ancient Egypt Documentary) | Timeline

In 1958, an Italian archaeologist discovered the mummified remains of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy in a cave in southwestern Libya. But this was a mummy with a difference: it was far older than any comparable examples found in Egypt.
The culture that produced the mummy were cattle herders, and occupied much of North Africa, at a time when the Sahara was a savannah. Possible links with later Egyptian culture have also been found, including the representation in rock art of dog-headed human figures (resembling Anubis), and a type of pottery decoration later found in the southern Nile valley.
The mummy of a young boy, Uan Muhuggiag was destined for controversy. He was older than any comparable Egyptian mummy and his mere existence challenged the very idea that Egyptians were the first in the region to mummify their dead. Uan Muhuggiag was no one off. The sophistication of his mummification suggested he was the result of a long tradition of mummification.
The discovery raised some profound questions. Who were the ancient inhabitants of the Sahara Desert who put the mummy there? And what influence might those people have had on the glittering civilization that later emerged in the land of the pharaohs?
This fascinating film follows Italian professor Savino di Lernia and his colleagues on a trek through the Sahara in the search for answers — a journey that leads to some astounding conclusions.

Ancient book contains detailed drawings of a fourth pyramid in Giza
According to ancient texts there was a fourth pyramid located at Giza plateau and it was made of a dark or black granite-like stone.
During the 1700’s, Frederic Norden, a Danish naval captain, and explorer, made extensive notes, drawings and maps of pyramids, ancient monuments and the architecture, etc. which was published in his book Voyage d’Egypte et de Nubie.

9. Egypt’s Most Influential Pharaoh
Last year, in 2017, National Geographic reported that archaeologists from Egypt and Germany had discovered a huge eight-metre statue submerged in ground water in Cairo. The statue at first was believed to depict Pharaoh Ramses II, who ruled Egypt over 3,000 years ago and was one of the country’s most powerful leaders.
8. Elite Tombs in Luxor
The discovery of two ancient tombs in the southern city of Luxor surprised the world and brought new buzz to Egypt in 2017. Located in the the Draa Abul Naga necropolis, this area is famous for its temples and burial grounds. It is close to the Valley of the Kings where many of ancient Egypt's pharaohs were buried.
7. A Nubian King
In 2008, the remains of a mysterious 2,600-year-old statue were discovered in a temple at Dangeil, along the Nile River in Sudan.
However, archeologists found only parts of the statue, which meant they could not identify who it was until years later. The temple where the remains were found are believed to have once been dedicated to the Egyptian Amun.
6. The Ankhesenpepi Pyramid
Archaeologists have discovered the first evidence of a long-lost satellite pyramid for the ancient Egyptian Queen Ankhesenpepi II. She was considered the most important Egyptian queen of the 6th Dynasty around 2,350 BC. She and her sister Ankhesenpepi I were both married to Pharaoh Pepi I. While the names might seem like a huge coincidence, it is most likely that they both took on the same name when they married.
5. Remains of a Musician
In Timna, Israel, archaeologists discovered the mysterious remains of a pregnant woman from 3,200 years ago. This biblical-era site supposedly never had any female visitors and during the time of her the place was controlled by Egypt. This discovery last year challenged the historical understanding of experts.
4. The Statue of Ptah
In 2014, archaeologists discovered a pit full of ancient goodies! Among them, a statue of the Egyptian Ptah, alongside a beautiful carved cat, a sphinx, and a Baboon.
Ptah was the of craftsmen and sculptors and was worshipped in a temple at Karnak.
3. Tutankhamen’s Camping Bed
When famous archaeologist Howard Carter discovered King Tut’s tomb in 1922, he also discovered some furniture in his treasury. While this might not sound that exciting compared to everything that was found, it definitely deserves its own mention.
2. A Hidden Chamber
After years of analysis and exploration, researchers believed they had uncovered every secret hidden inside the pyramid of Giza, however in 2017 a new chamber was revealed! This 4500-year-old monument and wonder of the world has much more to share. Researchers used muon detectors, the by-product of cosmic rays to reveal the unidentified chamber.
1. The Two Brothers
In 1907, the findings of two mystery mummies left researchers perplexed for decades, but now, thanks to DNA sequencing, scientist have finally solved the mystery!! The pair’s burial site was discovered in, a village 250 miles south of Cairo. They were found by Egyptian workmen directed
