Grand Union Canal En route to Leighton Buzzard Part 96
Camelot U17s/U16s, floodlit v Leighton Buzzard 09/03/16
The team play in the build up to this try is phenomenal! A lightning fast ruck, then a counter-turnover, then intelligent, perfectly-timed passing through 4 pairs of hands and a beautiful wingers try in the corner. And all of this by a scratch team in quite appalling weather conditions. Superb.
Ep76 Leighton Buzzard to Aylesbury | Stopping at Circus Field Marina
Leighton Buzzard to Aylesbury
What a great week cruising the Grand Union Canal. We left Leighton Buzzard and stopped at Marsworth for a lovely meal at The Red Lion. We headed down the Aylesbury Arm slightly worried about weeds and the lack of water as we had heard a rumour it was difficult to navigate. We needn’t have worried, the pounds were full to overflowing and we only had problems with weeds in one lock. But the biggest win of the week was finding Circus Field Marina run by the Aylesbury Canal Society. It is a great place to stay, and they offer up to two weeks FREE mooring to visitors. It is well worth checking out!

Neil Kelly - ECKA British Nationals Freeform Win 1996
Another old one of me winning the ECKA British National Freeform Championship title back in 1996.
Back then I considered myself to be more of a martial artist when I used to be more of an all rounder doing Points, Forms, Light Continuous and Full Contact. Now I see myself as a sports coach dedicating my focus on just one thing competitively.
Jack of all trades is cool but for me to excel in any one area you need to focus fully on it.
This was a good day mind as I brought back 4 National titles to my ECKA Hall Green gym, Men's -75kg points, Men's Open Weight points, Men's Freeform and The Team title. As far as I am aware in ECKA's history that has never been done before or since (could be wrong).
The good old days, can just about touch my toes these days ;-)

UK: Class 86 86101 electric loco at Rugby station on a Pathfinder railtour to Folkestone Harbour
Class 86 Electric locomotive 86101 'Sir William A Stanier FRS' passes Rugby station on Saturday 20th October, 2007 hauling the Pathfinder railtour The Atomic Harbour Master from Crewe to Folkestone Harbour.

The British Rail Class 86 was the standard electric locomotive built during the 1960s. One hundred of these locomotives were built from 1965 to 1966 by either English Electric at Vulcan Foundry, Newton-le-Willows, or British Rail (BR) at their Doncaster works. The class was built to haul trains on the then newly electrified West Coast Main Line, from London Euston, to Birmingham, Crewe, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool and later Preston and Glasgow.
Under the earlier BR classification system, the type was given the designation AL6 (meaning the 6th design of AC Locomotive), and locomotives were numbered E3101-E3200. In 1968, this was changed to Class 86, when BR introduced the TOPS classification system.
The Class was officially introduced into service in August 1965.
Throughout the 1970s, the class saw use on both express passenger and freight services. Locomotives in the 860xx series (or Class 86/0) had their maximum speed reduced to 80 mph in 1979 due to the excessive rough riding and were then used mainly on freight, whilst the higher-speed 861xx (or Class 86/1) and 862xx series (or Class 86/2) tended to be used primarily for passenger trains. In 1980 a number of class 86/0 were modified to class 86/3 by the use of SAB resilient wheels - a new design of wheel in two sections separated by a rubber bearing, this enabled a return to 100 mph operations.

Sir William Arthur Stanier, FRS (27 May 1876 - 27 September 1965) was Chief Mechanical Engineer of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.
In late 1931, he was headhunted by Sir Josiah Stamp, chairman of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) to become the Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME) of that railway. He was charged with introducing modern and more powerful locomotive designs, using his knowledge gained at Swindon with the GWR. Stanier built many other very successful designs for the LMS, especially the Black 5 mixed traffic 4-6-0, and the 8F 2-8-0 freight locomotives. His Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 No.6220 Coronation set a new British record of 114 mph.

86101 was preserved by the AC Locomotive Group in August 2005. It was initially stored at MoD Ashchurch, but was restored to working condition at Barrow Hill.

Rugby is a market town in Warwickshire, England, located on the River Avon.
Rugby is 13 miles (21 km) east of Coventry, on the eastern edge of Warwickshire, near the borders with Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
Rugby is most famous for the invention of rugby football, which is played throughout the world. The invention of the game is credited to William Webb Ellis whilst breaking the existing rules of a football match played in 1823 at Rugby School, which is near the centre of Rugby.
Rugby School is one of England's oldest and most prestigious public schools, and was the setting of Thomas Hughes's semi-autobiographical masterpiece Tom Brown's Schooldays.
Rugby is also a birthplace of the jet engine. In April 1937 Frank Whittle built the world's first prototype jet engine at the British Thomson-Houston works in Rugby. Holography was also invented in Rugby by the Hungarian inventor Dennis Gabor in 1947.

Pathfinder Tours is a railtour operating company operating in the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 1973 by Peter Watts, who organised a rail journey through British Rail from Severnside to the Cambrian coast. The company organises tours for both rail enthusiasts, and general tours to places of interest. After British Rail's demise the company operated in conjunction with several spot-hire companies, most notably E.W.S., FM Rail and Direct Rail Services, who provided locomotives, and Riviera Trains, who provided rolling stock.
This relationship was solidified in 2006, when Riviera Trains purchased the parent company of Pathfinder Tours. A new company named Pathfinder Tours (2006) Ltd was formed to continue operating railtours with the exclusive use of Riviera's supply of rolling stock. Although it will primarily use DB Schenker and Direct Rail Services locomotives, occasionally a preserved locomotive will be chartered from one of the major preservation organisations (notably the Class 40 Preservation Society, Diesel Traction Group or the Deltic Preservation Society). The company also acts as a booking agent for other companies such as A1 Trust and Torbay Express Ltd.

All necessary for Pest Control

How to Get Buzzards Out of Trees Around Your House. While true buzzards are raptors native to the Old World, the word is often colloquially applied in North America to two related species of scavenging bird: the turkey vulture, found at least part of the year across the entirety of the lower 48 states, and the black vulture, a smaller but often...

Kajagoogoo - To Shy (hush hush eye to eye) Top Of The Pops 1983
Pure class TOP quality video recorded live in the studio of Top Of The Pops 1983. Kajagoogoo is a British pop band, best known for their hit single, Too Shy, which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart and No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1983.
The band was originally founded in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, in 1979, as a four-piece avant-garde instrumental group, called Art Nouveau, with Nick Beggs on bass guitar, Steve Askew on lead guitar, Stuart Croxford Neale on keyboards, and Jeremy Jez Strode on drums. Art Nouveau released a track called The Fear Machine. The single sold a few hundred copies, and was played on the John Peel show, but the band were unable to get a record deal.
In 1981, they advertised for a lead singer, ultimately auditioning and choosing Christopher Hamill, who then went under the stage name Limahl (an anagram of his surname). The name of the group was then changed to Kajagoogoo, coined by phonetically writing out a baby's first sounds, which gave them 'GagaGooGoo' - and with a minor alteration, it became 'Kajagoogoo'
The band attracted the interest of three record labels (and Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes), while performing at the Embassy Club, in London. The group was eventually signed to EMI, in July 1982, and Rhodes was hired to produce their first album, White Feathers along with Duran Duran's EMI producer Colin Thurston. In between events, they supported Birmingham band Fashion on tour. Their debut single, Too Shy, was released in January 1983 and went to the top of the charts (before any of Duran Duran's singles had done so, Rhodes ruefully noted). Follow-up releases, Ooh to Be Aah and Hang on Now, also both reached the UK Top 20, and the album White Feathers reached no.5 in the UK album chart. As success came, tensions began to rise in the band, which eventually culminated in Limahl being fired by the other band members in mid-1983 and Beggs then taking over as lead singer. The first single by the new four-piece Kajagoogoo was Big Apple, which made the UK Top Ten in late 1983. Their next single, The Lion's Mouth, made the Top 30 but after that public interest waned and the hits dried up. The subsequent new album, Islands, was less successful, peaking at only no.35 in the UK. In the U.S., the band renamed themselves as Kaja, and a different edition of the Islands album was released there as Extra Play, peaking at no.185 on the Billboard charts. The single Turn Your Back On Me did well on the US Dance Charts peaking at no.2 for two weeks.
Strode then left the band and, in an attempt to gain some credibility and to lose their bubblegum image, the remaining three members relaunched as Kaja in the UK in 1985. Following the name change, the band released the single Shouldn't Do That (UK No.63) in mid-1985. The song was featured on their third album, Crazy People's Right to Speak. In 1986, the band split up.
On 7 September 2009, the long awaited retrospective 'Best Of' CD/DVD was released by the band's original label EMI Records called 'Too Shy - The Best Of Kajagoogoo & Limahl'. It features two of the newly recorded tracks from the 'Death Defying Headlines E.P.', plus a brand new promotional video, newly commissioned by the label to showcase Space Cadet, one of the new recordings .
On 14 December 2009, EMI (UK) released the White Feathers (Manhattan Clique Remixes) E.P. .
On 16 December 2009, Kajagoogoo performed their last remaining UK concert of 2009 with a return to 'The Stables' in Wavendon, Milton Keynes.
On 16 March 2010, 'dPulse Recordings' release the Kajagoogoo track 'First Girl on Mars' as a part of The 'Who Made Your Music?' benefit CD, released to raise funds for, and bring awareness to the rights of marginalized women. The album will be made available on Compact Disc and digital download format.
On Saturday 17 July 2010, Kajagoogoo performed at the Midland Music Festival in Tamworth.
On Saturday 21 August 2010, Kajagoogoo performed at the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames.
On 11th February 2011, EMI Records released 'So80s Presents Kajagoogoo' as a part of the 'So Eighties' series, 'Curated By Blank & Jones'. The album contains extended mixes of classic Kajagoogoo tracks and is available on Compact Disc and digital download format. Please visit my other Channel. Keep Rockin!
