Old Canberra. O'Connor & Black Mountain.
O'Connor is a suburb of Canberra, Australia in the North Canberra district. It was named after Richard Edward O'Connor (1851–1912), who was a judge in the High Court and a founder of the Australian constitution. Rock wallabies at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve
I recently spent a night out south of Canberra helping Tidbinbilla rangers and ecologists from ACT Parks and Wildlife with their surveys of the endangered Southern brush-tailed rock wallabies. There are only 80 of these remarkable Australian animals left in the world. Without the support and efforts of places like Tidbinbilla, they would most likely be #extinct in the wild.
Australia's #ThreatenedSpecies Strategy is for all our creatures great and small. This is just one of their stories.
