Part Road, Part Beach, Truly Spectacular


The Achill 10K will follow the roads around Keel and the Deserted Village before finishing with an exciting run along the sands of Keel Strand. Expect deserted roads, fantastic scenery and a run to the finish line along one of the best beaches in Ireland. This event is set to be one of the best 10k events in Ireland.

The Route & Distance
The distance of the race will be 10k

Registration Location, Time
Registration Starts -- 8.00am
Location -- Sandybanks, Keel, Achill Island, Ireland. Registration area will be clearly signposted.

Start Time -- 12.00pm

Entry Fee & What's Included
The entry fee for the Achill 10k will be €20.00pp. Entry on the day will be €25.00pp
Chip timed by Champion Chip Ireland
Water Stations (X2) -- Water and Fruit (oranges & bananas)
Finishers medal for all participants

Car Parking
Parking will be clearly signposted on the day of the event -- please do not block any gateways or driveways by parking irresponsibly. The people on Achill have welcomed this event onto their Island and everyone should be courteous to the people and show respect towards their property.

Blackfield Surf School are offering €5 discount on surf lessons for participants and their families for the weekend of the race.

Post Race
Post Race Banter, light headed fun and raffle will be in the Pure Magic.

Mayo Day Scare crows

The children of all the National Schools on Achill Island got together to celebrate Mayo Day in a very unique way and also give a little support to the Mayo U21 team who are playing in the All-Ireland U121 Final this evening.
They constructed a team of Scare Crows, all decked out in Red and Green and lined them out on Crow Park near Keel on Achill Island. There was also a few left over to act as supporters. One school even decided to build a referee! Star of the show however was Aiden O'Hay, lininging up in midfield! The event was organised by Achill Tourism to mark Mayo Day.
