Blackpool's Model Village is set in 2 ½ acres of wonderful gardens. The Blackpool Model Village was originally designed and built in the 60's to provide a beautiful tranquil attraction to give people a break from the busy noisier attractions Blackpool has to offer.
The models are all hand crafted and depict buildings and scenes of Britain's past. From the grand church, the harbor, the cricket match, the windmill to the historic caravan park. Each model is set in its own distinctive area of landscaped gardens.

Filmed during April 2017.
Stanley Park, Blackpool, filmed from behind the model village.
This channel is mainly dedicated to videos of my hometown, Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
Blackpool is a beautiful seaside town on the north west coast of England.
We have many cool attractions here including our world famous Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, three piers and a lovely sandy beach..
Blackpool is a relatively poor town that gets (unfairly in my opinion), a lot of bad press..
The aim of my channel is to show Blackpool in a better light..
No town or city is perfect so it's best to appreciate the good parts wherever you live :)

Blackpool is a seaside resort on the Irish Sea coast of England. It's known for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an old-school amusement park with vintage wooden roller coasters. Built in 1894, the landmark Blackpool Tower houses a circus, a glass viewing platform and the Tower Ballroom, where dancers twirl to the music of a Wurlitzer organ. Blackpool Illuminations is an annual light show along the Promenade.
Blackpool is a seaside resort and unitary authority area in Lancashire, England, on England's northwest coast. The town is on the Irish Sea, between the Ribble and Wyre estuaries, 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Preston, 27 miles (43 km) north of Liverpool, 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Bolton and 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Manchester.
Blackpool rose to prominence as a major centre of tourism in England when a railway was built in the 1840s connecting it to the industrialised regions of Northern England. The railway made it much easier and cheaper for visitors to reach Blackpool, triggering an influx of settlers, such that in 1876 Blackpool was incorporated as a borough, governed by its own town council and aldermen. In 1881, Blackpool was a booming resort with a population of 14,000 and a promenade complete with piers, fortune-tellers, public houses, trams, donkey rides, fish-and-chip shops and theatres. By 1901 the population of Blackpool was 47,000, by which time its place was cemented as the archetypal British seaside resort. By 1951 it had grown to 147,000.
Shifts in tastes, combined with opportunities for Britons to travel overseas, affected Blackpool's status as a leading resort in the late 20th century. Nevertheless, Blackpool's urban fabric and economy remains relatively undiversified, and firmly rooted in the tourism sector, and the borough's seafront continues to attract millions of visitors every year. In addition to its sandy beaches, Blackpool's major attractions and landmarks include Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Illuminations, the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Water Park, the Winter Gardens, and the UK's only surviving first-generation tramway.
Blackpool International Airport operated regular charter and scheduled flights throughout the UK and Europe. Blackpool Transport operates the main bus services in and around Blackpool. Blackpool once had two railway termini with a total of over 30 platforms, mainly used by excursion traffic in the summer. Blackpool Central, close to Blackpool Tower, was closed in 1964, while Blackpool North was largely demolished and rebuilt as a smaller facility.

Model Village 'Bekonscot' - BBC's 'One Foot In The Past' Opening Titles Explained
You can't help but to be captivated by life in miniature, especially here, when it's done so, so well. An interesting wander through the history of Bekonscot Miniature Village/ Model Village, on the wonderful 'One Foot In The Past' with Kirsty Wark, doesn't she look young! I'm not a mini village aficionado, but this is really fascinating, and the buildings look amazingly real. It shows the entire history from inception to the present day, and has some great photos of the Queen visiting as a child.

Places to see in ( Blackpool - UK ) Stanley Park
Stanley Park is a public park in the town of Blackpool on the Fylde coast in Lancashire, England. Stanley Park is the town's primary park and covers an area of approximately 104 hectares.
Stanley Park was designed to include significant sporting provisions, along with formal gardens, a boating lake and woodland area. Stanley Park was designed and built in the 1920s, under the eye of Thomas Mawson.
Stanley Park is located in the Great Marton and Layton areas of the town. Stanley Park is Grade II* listed and is on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England.
Stanley Park largest gardens feature a fountain built with Italian marble and a number of statues including a pair of Medici Lions. The Italian gardens are overlooked by a cafe, designed by Mawson and built in a traditional Art Deco style, and include steps down to the boating lake. Surrounding the boating lake is a woodland area, including a protected area for wildlife. On one side of the lake is an amphitheatre surrounding a bandstand, also designed by Mawson.
Towards the centre of the park there is a crossroads with a clock tower, dedicated to William Cocker. It is close to the large children's play area, the tennis courts, all-weather pitches, BMX track, skate park and general grassy areas. Within the Stanley Park grounds stands a 5000-seat cricket ground, an 18-hole golf course designed by Alister MacKenzie, a sports centre, athletics ground and a model village attraction.
