Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire and Lazy Days Tuck Shop
Watch in 1080p. THE BEST CYCLE HIRE PRICES ON THE MONSAL TRAIL situated at the beginning of the Magnificent Monsal Trail, in the Peak District National Park.
The centre is approached by entering the Wye-Dale car park on the A6 (opposite the Topley Pike Quarry entrance), 3 miles south of Buxton towards Bakewell. The Monsal trail is a disused railway line closed in 1968 and recently converted in 2010-2011 into a new traffic-free cycle track, allowing people to cycle from Blackwell Mill, Nr.Buxton to Bakewell. The eight and half mile trail follows the river Wye, taking you through several newly opened lit tunnels, between steep gorges, surrounding limestone hills and across the spectacular Monsal Dale viaduct making this an exceptional cycling experience.
Discover along the way the stepping stones and natural springs, lime-kilns and the old station at Millers Dale built in 1863 where the hustle and bustle of the past are but a distant memory. Spot the cotton mills of Litton and Cressbrook built in the 18th century, here the force of the river Wye was used to power the waterwheels of the mills. Stop and look down to see the river Wye waterfall at water Cum-Jolly unseen from this view point for over forty years.
Cycle on to Hassop Station, where you can enjoy a welcome break at the book store and restaurant. Then continue cycling on to the famous Market town of Bakewell where you will find designated bike racks to allow you to park your bike and browse. On your return rest and relax before going home at Blackwell Mills very own Lazy Days Tuck shop where you can indulge yourself with refreshments of coffee, cake and confectioneries.

Monsal Trail
Some photos I took of The Monsal Trail in Derbyshire between Blackwell Mill and Bakewell.
You can walk or cycle The Monsal Trail. It's about 12km long and you can also hire cycles that you can use on the trail. The last train ran in 1968 and the disused railway line has now been turned into a tourist trail where you can walk through renovated rail tunnels and over viaducts whilst marveling at the amazing rock formations that are over 3.5 million years old.

Monsal Trail by Bike - Sped Up.
Whilst exploring the Monsal Trail and filming for the next Moderately Comic Disused Series we decided to try and speeded up video of the trail.
So this is what happens when...
1) You've not yet purchased a Go-Pro.
2) Not changed the exposure settings on the camera and leave it on auto ISO.
3) Attach the camera to the bike with the Gorilla Pod.
4) try to film on a warm sunday with lots of people around.
Subsequently be prepared for a camera that leans more and more with every yard!

Monsal Trail 15-09-16 Full Trail Video.
As the title suggests, this is the trail in full - all 9.5 miles (via unicycle) - and while it might not be for everyone it was a video I wanted to make.
I've not cut anything out, but I had sped the majority of the footage up, cutting an hour and a half's ride down to 30 minutes.
Cameras - Mobius 'C' on my head, Xiaomi Yi action camera chest mounted using a Zhiyun Rider Z1 3-axis gimbal.
