P J McDonald has worked with Arty McGlynn, Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, and Seamie O’Dowd. He was a member of the White Hare Band, The Bad Articles, and The Bettys. He has released the solo album The Long Road Home.
Maureen Browne has toured extensively with the Alan Kelly Gang, Scottish singer Eddi Reader, Máirtín O’Connor, and the Contempo Quartet. She has performed at the Milwaukee Irish Festival, the Celtic Colours International Festival, the Edmonton Folk Festival, and the National Folk Festival.
Brendan Browne became a member of the Riverdance ‘Flying’ Squad band in his late teens and has performed as an actor and musician in Séamus Ó Scolaí's translation of Vincent Woods's At Black Pig's Dyke.
Peter Vickers has toured extensively with Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance and has danced for presidents Mary McAleese and Michael D Higgins. He has also worked with Sharon Shannon and Frankie Gavin.

The 2018 Gathering Traditional Festival is in its 19th year.
The Céilís, Set Dancing feature Uí Bhriain, Neily O’Connor, Striolán Céilí Band, Shanadrum Céilí Band and the Johnny Reidy Céilí Band.
Thursday night featured Four Star Trio: Con O’Drisceoil, Pat Herring, Johnny McCarthy & special guest Paddy Jones.
Friday featured Raw Bar Affair with Des Dillons Dance Puppets and Buttons & Bows.There was also a Book/Cd launch of the composition of Paddy O'Brien 1992-1972 with the daughter Eileen O'Brien.
Saturday Afternoon Concert featured Back West, Claire & Sinead Egan, Eoin O’Neill, Pauric McDhonnacha.
Saturday night concert featured two of Scotland’s most acclaimed traditional musicians Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, and also Ireland's most acclaimed traditional musicians Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden and Seamie O’Dowd.
Sunday Afternoon featured Socks in the Frying Pan, Jack Talty and John Blake.
Sunday evening Scattering Concert was with the Karen Casey Band and Seán Kelliher, Dean Griffin, Aileen Bourke & Ciara O’ Shea, and also Seamus Begley, Méabh Begley and Donagh Hennessey.
Late-night session, the Festival Club House Band included Seán Murphy, Tim O’Shea, Dermot Byrne, Eileen O’Brien, Orlaith & Brogan McAuliffe, The Rising, Ciara O’Shea, Aileen Bourke & Lily Sweeney, Tim Hickey and many more.
The schedule of Gathering workshops and masterclasses included fiddle, accordion, concertina, flute, set dancing, sean nós and singers masterclass. The Schools Outreach Programme visited schools in the lead up to the festival, showcasing the Sliabh Luachra tradition of music and set dancing.There were storytelling sessions with Eddie Lenihan,Jim Maher,and Ray O'Sullivan.

I wen't along to the opening of 'BRASSERIE ON THE CORNER' and 'BLAKES BAR'. Although I was testing the delightful menu and enjoying a 'quite a few' drinks I decided to whip out the camera to take in a little of the atmosphere.

Fancy an exciting living history journey through the heart of medieval Galway which offers an authentic, fun and interactive insight into the city's rich cultural heritage and people? Then don't miss Tribes Alive! an enchanting new 70 minute dramatic walk through the winding medieval streets of Galway's Latin Quarter.
Presented in an engaging and humorous way, this tour will take participants on an enchanting journey back in time. Written by Paraic Breathnach, directed by Rod Goodall and featuring local actors, the tour will visit nine of the city's most historic landmarks including Spanish Arch, Blake's Tower, Kirwan's Lane, St Nicholas' Collegiate Church and The Hall of the Red Earl.
With two performances per day and private tours available by arrangement, this unique tour based on historical fact and humorous observation brings to life great Galway stories, larger-than-life Galway characters and historical Galway events.
Tour departs from outside Galway City Museum twice daily, 2.30pm and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, from Wednesday 22 August until 21 September. Tickets are €10 (Accompanied U-14 free). GalwayMusicTV is an online show that will have upcoming, and successful artists perform in different locations in Galway. Filmed professionally, and interviewed about gigs and what not. We are looking for people that play instruments and who can sing and entertain!
Every now and again we will take a couple of bands, meet at a popular destination in Galway, interview them, then after the interview we will ask the artist to perform an original song. We will then upload them on our YouTube account and as the word spreads about Galway MusicTV, the views will only go up, and up.
And you know, we may just catch a performance from a future music sensation.
