Captain Michael Joseph Kelly Commemoration at Moygownagh, Mayo
On 27th December 2016, a native of Drumanangle, Moygownagh in County Mayo was remembered for his role in the 1916 rising and subsequently fighting in World War 1, the Irish War of Independence and Civil War. Captain Michael Joseph Kelly, may have exiled himself to the USA in 1925, never to return to his beloved Mayo, but he was never fully forgotten....
Many thanks to Nuala McHale for her videoing (and editing!) of the event!
A book on the life of Capt. Michael Joseph Kelly by Liam Alex Heffron will be published in Spring 2017, see this link for more information : or liamalexheffron.com

My original upload video was restricted from playing on some devices because of the music attached to Fr. Durcan's original (silent) film when it was transferred to video in the 1980's, by McCafferty Videos, Ballina.

Gun by Santiago Paris...
Memories of the past and future come to me
through gusts of air, as do voices. That is the
reason I have never failed at my job; I am too well
prepared. I have too many skills some wish to
have, yet they don’t understand the curse of
morality living as a waking dream, a vision of the
past. I have no friends, no enemies. No one is
willing to be my enemy, for they all run and hide
in my wake, knowing that my power could far
succeed any they could wish for, and knowing
they wouldn’t get anywhere with trying to kill me.
You may think I am immortal, but that is not true.
However, to many it seems the reasons for my
abilities. I just wish to have a normal life…like
everyone else does. I am treated differently, and
have neither friends nor family. I have nothing.
