A fresh start for a forgotten laneway | City of Melbourne
This year, as part of our National Reconciliation Week celebrations, City of Melbourne worked with talented students from St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre and local street artists from The Blender Studios to design a new mural for one of our unadorned laneways.
From 1 to 3 June, Flinders Court became a hive of creative activity as young people from different backgrounds came together for a positive cause – to reinstate pride in this plain lane.
The project drew on urban design principals relating to improved safety through environmental design and local community partnerships.
Now the space is transformed by the artwork, making it a more vibrant, welcoming place for people to pass through.

David Jenyns sold the MCG sold for $24.95 Melbourne Cricket
I've always been a little bit entrepreneurial. In fact, in 2003, at the tender age of 21, I sold the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) - Australia's most well known sporting icon. Here's a story the 'Today Show' did on me and to this day I'm still selling bits of the MCG - check out:
Melbourne truly is Australia's masterpiece
Melbourne may be renowned for its thriving street art scene, but did you know that Melbourne is also home to more than 100 art galleries ranging from large public galleries to smaller independent commercial galleries and artist-run spaces.
The city's Arts Precinct alone presents more than 3,000 performances and exhibitions each year, truly making Melbourne Australia's Artistic Masterpiece.

Don't be surprised if one day you are walking around this city and you get to a street full of graffiti. In Melbourne there is not just some graffiti on the walls, here there are streets fully decorated with the urban art that is already part of the identity of this city. Don't think that these streets are the work of an uncontrolled band of graffiti painters… not at all! This is the result of many years of organized labor by a group of street artists joined together around The Blender Studios.
In recent years, local authorities have not only respected the activity of graffiti artists; aware of the cultural value of that these works of art bring to the city, they have been campaigning to promote these little street museums, and have even protected with methacrylate panels some of the most outstanding creations of British artist Banksy, whose works are also part of the walls of ths city. All this has contributed to make the “Street Art Tours” one of the most valued activities by tourists. They are, guided tours of the main scenes of urban art of the city where visitors discover the secrets of the works that hundreds of artists have been leaving on the walls of the streets of Melbourne.

FAGBEX
A quick little update video on some changes we are proposing.
We feel like this is the best thing to do going forward not just for our image but for the world. If you still love the word fagbexer or fagbex you can use it but we're just sick of getting attacked over it and it's starting to get too hard. We want to send out a positive message on Fogarty Avenue not a negative one. WE LIKE LGBTQI+ PEOPLE and don't care if people are gay or not, but the moment people see that word they instantly think were were homophobes and we're sick of the mislabelling because it's simply not true. We don't want to but we are inspiring kids and we need to be a bit more responsible about what we are sending out into the world. All of our old videos will remain the same and a few upcoming videos will still contain the word fagbexer etc just because they were edited and uploaded before this decision was made over the past few weeks. There will be a transition period. Thank you for the support over the years and we look forward to hearing your opinions in the comments.
We take only pictures and leave only footprints and break nothing but silence. AND SO SHOULD YOU DON'T BE A FAGBEXER or ****BEXER!
WARNING:
Exploring abandoned buildings is dangerous and most-times ILLEGAL. Fogarty Avenue do not endorse these activities.

24 Hour Tea x Zen 二十四時間茶禅一味
In a cube with no walls, Tea master Adam Wojcinski and Zen monk Seikan Čech conducted a non-stop Tea Ceremony x Zen Sesshin for 24 hours. The event took place from 6pm Monday 4 November until 6pm Tuesday 5 November 2013, at the Blender Lane Studios in Melbourne Australia, and was documented in its entirety by photographer Ryo Yamauchi.
People from all walks of life participated in this long-duration artwork simply by entering into the cube and sharing in Tea x Zen. For the entire 24 hours, Adam and Seikan's only sustenance was tea and water and there was no talking. Through this event, Adam and Seikan examined human encounters; explored completeness and change; and embodied the mind of Zen and Tea as being one and the same.
Adam, Seikan and Ryo express their gratitude to all who participated and gave support in co-creating this unique and wonderful event. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Adam, Seikan and Ryo
