Quick Overview of Blowing Rocks Preserve, Jupiter Island in Hobe Sound, Florida (3/31/17)
Blowing Rocks Preserve is located just north of the Martin County line on Jupiter Island. The environmental preserve itself straddles A1A. Blowing Rocks offer two completely different experiences, on the west side mangroves and the Intracoastal Waterway, on the east side sea grape forest and the ocean. The preserve was named for its rocky Anastasia limestone shoreline – the largest on the U.S. Atlantic coast. During extreme high tides and after winter storms, seas break against the rocks and force plumes of saltwater up to 50 feet skyward. It’s an impressive sight, and definitely not your typical Florida beach.
The town of Jupiter Island is located on the barrier island called Jupiter Island, in Martin County, Florida. The town is part of the Port St. Lucie, Florida, Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has no post office, as all mail comes from Hobe Sound on the mainland.

Blowing Rocks Preserve
Blowing Rocks Preserve is a wonderful place to come, especially when the ocean conditions are to rough and murky for snorkeling and diving. The Anastasia limestone formation comes out onto the beach here, creating a very unique beach for South Florida. This visit took place on October 21st 2017

BLOWING ROCKS PRESERVE // JUPITER, FL // JAN. 28, 2017
Hey, hey! In this video we explore Blowing Rocks Preserve in Jupiter, Florida, the largest coastline of Anastasia rock on the U.S. Atlantic coast. According to The Nature Conservancy, waves surging against the limestone can create geysers up to 50 feet into the air. These rock formations were likely created some 120,000 years ago during the Pleistocene Age. This limestone extends from St. Augustine to Boca Raton, the largest portion of exposed rock being found here at Blowing Rocks. Anastasia rock is usually found either underground or underwater. Afterwards we checked out the rescued sea turtles at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach.

The Shoreline Blowing Rocks Preserve Jupiter Island Florida
This natural, untouched shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean is managed by Nature Conservancy. It is beautiful. You are not allowed to bring any food or drink to keep it in it's original glory. It is called Blowing Rocks because at the right times the water can hit the rocks and blow up to 50 feet...only happens when the elements of nature are right.
Blowing Rocks Preserve
The exposed coquina rock at Blowing Rocks Preserve makes this beach one of Florida's most unique coastal destinations. When the tides are just right, water will blow through the holes in the rock at heights of up to 50 feet!
