Snuba Excursion pt 1 -- Atlantis, Paradise Island Bahamas -- Nov. 2016

This is the snuba excursion offered through Blue Adventures/Atlantis and operated by Stuart's Cove dive facility, for $96 per person. I also did this same excursion last year and I've lucked out both times, getting to do my snuba portion over the sunken wreck of a WW II landing craft and the snorkeling half at the other site, a nice nearby reef.
Joe, Aidan (14) and Briana (26) were the other snuba participants with me on this trip. There were nine snuba participants in the other group on the dive-boat.

Maldives: diving paradise (full documentary)

The Maldives Islands are synonymous with diving. Its capricious geography consists of over 1,200 small coral islands, not all are surveyed and some emerge or disappear, with earthquakes of the sea. The Maldives offer the professional diver and to tourists that plunge for the first time, an evolving paradise.

There are more than 4000 species of fish on coral reefs. Only in the Maldives are over 900. Many tourists visit the Maldives for withdraw from the world. The friendliness of its waters and species diversity invites to discover an exuberant underwater world.

The novel diver is usually terrified with the mere presence of the shark. Our panic may upset them. But if you simply observe their movements, he will be at our fingertips.

The legend of man-eating shark, has been disproved. Most only feeds on mollusks and small fish, but something about their appearance (as an ancestral fear of man) still frightening us.

Most species are escondidizas during the day. They take advantage of the night to hunt, from coral crevices where they hide their long bodies, which in the larger species can reach three meters. There are so many species that live on the reef, where is given the disconcerting fact that hunters prey and swim very close to each other.

The shark is the lord of the sea. For the diver, swimming beside her is like winning their respect. Some experienced divers roam the oceans in order to boast of being with all shark species.

Tourism promotion has enabled the Maldives to develop its economy, although there are still large gaps in their population. Its diffusion as a privileged place of rest and exotic beaches has paralleled promoting diving in the reefs. Thousands of divers immerse every year in its waters. In our world, saturated with artificial images, the ocean offers us an endless entertainment.

We had the awesome privilege to get into a massive aquarium with 21 Reef sharks and Nurse sharks at the Atlantis Resort at Paradise Island in the Bahamas. This is the single coolest clip that I have ever captured on film. This video is the uncut experience that brings the viewer right into the tank with us on our aquaventure. Using state-of-the-art clear-glass helmets, we walked on the bottom of the Shark Exhibit and found ourselves nose-to-nose with the guardians of the lost world of Atlantis.

Hello from Fowl Cay! We're so happy to be back in the Bahamas but this time at Fowl Cay. We flew the wonderful Watermakers Air to Staniel Cay. The airport experience was so calm and nice. The flights was one of the prettiest we've ever seen.

Fowl Cay is extra special because each villa comes with a boat to explore around the Exumas. The water is perfectly clear and a lot of places feel like you're in a giant swimming pool.

We swam in caves, snorkeled old plane wrecks, found star fish and the kids swam with sharks! Very nice ones. ;)

Bahamas Scuba Diving

I was fortune to win a Twitter Chat sponsored by Stuart Cove Dive Bahamas and Scuba Diving Magazine. I flew down to Nassau from NY to dive.

A few weeks ago, I posted my shark dive video and a few people have asked about the marine life in Nassau. So, I decided to pull this short video together. Once again, special thanks to Stuart Cove and Scuba Diving Magazine.

I shot this using a Gopro 4 Silver with a Backscatter Filter and a Sealife video strobe. Edited with FCPX with FCPeffects.

Check out the cool Sand tilefish at 1:00 beginning to develop his hiding mound.
