Ashley Bindon's mother Jeni Bindon speaks during 2019 Missing Persons Week | 7NEWS
Missing Person: I've spent the last 14 and half years looking for Ashley across Australia with my posters and a blog spot...and that's how we got the information from the girl who believed she met Ashley in Darwin - Jeni Bindon - Mother of Ashley Bindon who was last seen by a friend in Rose Bay on Sunday 26th February 2005.
Can you help Jeni? Do you know where Ashley is? Phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police Statement: The mother of missing man Ashley Bindon will join police to appeal for information as part of Missing Persons Week 2019. Mr Bindon, aged 25 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen by a friend in Rose Bay on the morning of Sunday 26 February 2005. He was reported missing to police by his mother two days later when he could not be located. In January 2012, police received information from a woman in the Northern Territory who believe she saw Mr Bindon on a number of occasions in the Darwin suburbs of Nightcliff and Palmerston in March 2005. Investigators from Inner West Police Area Command have conducted extensive inquiries; however, he has never been located. At the time of his disappearance, Mr Bindon was described as being of Caucasian appearance with a fair complexion, about 170cm tall, with brown hair, blue eyes. At the time he was last seen by family, he was of medium build and had facial hair. Inner West Police Area Commander, Superintendent Julie Donohue, urged anyone with information about Mr Bindon’s disappearance to come forward. “It’s been nearly 14 years since Ashely was reported missing – he would now be 39-years-old – and we are still keen to hear from anyone who may be able to shed new light on the investigation,” Supt Donohue said. “Someone knows something, and I urge you to contact police immediately, no matter how insignificant it may seem.” Ashley’s mother, Jeni Bindon, said she has continued to search for him across Australia. “As a mother you never give up,” she said. “It’s his 40th birthday on Wednesday (7 August 2019) and it’s really hard not knowing where he is. I miss him terribly.” Anyone who has seen Mr Bindon, or has information as to his whereabouts, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages. Missing Persons Week is an annual national campaign to raise awareness of the issues and impacts surrounding missing persons and runs between Sunday 4 August and Saturday 10 August 2019.
