Hiking the Buckeye Trail to Blue Hen Falls | Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH
The Buckeye Trail is a 1400 mile loop around the state of Ohio that passes through many local, state, and national parks and forests.
This video features a section of the Buckeye Trail that runs through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The hike begins at the Jaite Trailhead off of Vaughn Road and ends at the Boston Trailhead, next to the National Park's Visitor Center.
This section of the Buckeye Trail varies from moderately challenging to difficult. There are several steep climbs and descents, creek crossings, and stair cases to climb.
The highlight of the hike is the section between Columbia Road and Boston Mills Road, which takes hikers along a stream that runs beside and over exposed rock. The surrounding area is dominated by hemlock, giving this section an enchanting feel. Not much further down the trail, hikers will encounter the iconic Blue Hen Falls, which is a must see in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Buttermilk Falls - Cuyahoga Valley | Morning Hike
Got up a bit early to make our way to Buttermilk falls. So we headed over to the entrance of the Blue Hen Falls trail because this leads to the trail that takes you to Buttermilk Falls. I previously didn't know about Buttermilk until I was looking at the map for Blue Hen. The Buttermilk trail is a bit more of a hike so be ready for some off road conditions. :) Both of these falls are part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Sorry about the issues with the video in the middle, my camera settings were off.

Hiking Furnace Run & Everett Covered Bridge | Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH
The two-mile long Furnace Run trail, in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, provides a challenging hike through a hilly forest near Furnace Run. The trail is rated as moderate to difficult, due to the 260 feet of elevation gain, steep grades a times, as well as stretches with loose rock and exposed roots.
The hike featured in this video takes the Furnace Run trail in a counter-clockwise direction, ascending the 90+ stairs to the top of Oak Hill, crosses Oak Hill Road, and then descends towards Furnace Run on the Loop trail. After a brief rest along the creek, it follows the steep ascent to finish the loop, and heads back to the trail head near the serene and picturesque scene at Everett Covered Bridge.
