Andros Bahamas blue holes
We visited two of Andros's blue holes, Captain Bill's and the Rainbow Blue Hole, while we stayed at Small Hope Bay Lodge during the summer of 2017. We biked to both. These trips were fun and beautiful. The platform at Captain Bill's makes it fun for gymnasts. Enjoy!
Blue Hole Diving In The Bahamas | JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD
Jonathan travels to Andros, an island in the Bahamas, to investigate underwater caves that start in blue holes. A blue hole looks like a pond, but leads into a vast underwater cave system. In the Bahamas, these caves often lead to the ocean. As Jonathan explores the ocean end of the caves, he learns how the two systems are connected.
JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD is an Emmy Award-winning underwater science/adventure program.

Ocean Blue Holes of Andros Bahamas - Best Travel Destination
Divers explore an underwater cave system on Andros Island in the Bahamas. Offshore flooded caves, called ocean blue holes, are extensions of the sea, subject to the same heavy tides and host to many of the same species found in the surrounding waters. The blue holes of the Bahamas yield a scientific trove that may even shed light on life beyond Earth. Different from many, it is an opening in the Andros wall, a spot where the wall has collapsed into a cavern/cave system. This huge system can be approached on many levels. Two primary openings at 60 feet lead into one cavern. Another tunnel leads into a massive room with the ceiling at 140 feet and the floor at 320 feet. For very advanced or professional divers, the Level III dive enters a fracture in the wall at 190 feet, well above the system's maximum depth, and leads into the most complex portion of the system. Blue Holes Nature Tour on Andros Island, Bahamas - August 2014
We had a great nature tour with Claudius, our guide. A half-day driving and walking in the local pine forests to see the Rainbow Blue Hole, Cousteau's Blue Hole, and Captain Bill's Blue Hole. Our guide told us all about the local bush medicine traditions on Andros, as well as pointed out many different species of plants and birds. The best part, of course, jumping in for a swim on a warm, sunny, Bahamas afternoon!
Freeport Grand Bahama Inland Blue Hole Adventure May 18 2015 Extended version tour
Inland Blue Hole Adventure
6 hours in duration
1. Lucayan National Park
Here we visit a park filled with very interesting history. 6 ecosystems, 2 inland blue holes and interesting animal life and vegetation. Your guide walks you through at leisure introducing this wonderful destination. One of your ecosystems happens to be a beautiful beach. Beaches are best to be viewed at low tide. Tidal changes takes place every 6 hours alternating between highs and lows, this simply means that there is no guarantee if your beach visit would be at low tide.
2. Owl's Hole
This is an impressive hole. 30' in diameter, 30' foot drop to the body of water inside the hole. The water is fresh-water down to 30 odd feet in depth. In its center lies a pyramid of rocks. A ladder drops down into the hole and into the water resting on top of the rocks which is 20 odd feet below the water's surface. However the rocks extent down to 60' in depth. Marine life includes shrimps, sleeper gobbies and fresh water eels. The hole was formed by influence of ice ages. To get to this amazing destination includes an off road driving through a track road surrounded by local pine and palm trees. Here you are provided with snorkel equipment, climb down the ladder and experience history.
3. Banana Bay
This destination is the final stop of the day. It is a beach-side restaurant that would take your breath away. Here you have lunch facing a turquoise sea from a wooden deck. The restaurant amenities include hammocks, lounge chairs, outside shower and shade provided by Coconut palm trees. This stop is not just to take in its beauty and eat...this is also for complete relaxation.
Extended Version
This would allow for more snorkel time. Snorkeling will be done as seen in the video at Lucayan National Park. Snorkeling is within an ecosystem known as Mangrove-Swash-Land. It is an ecosystem of water and trees and connected to a marine blue hole. This marine blue hole is connected to an inland blue hole call Ben's Cave. Adding this stop changes the name of the tour to Blue Hole Adventure as you will experience both land and sea blue holes. Price is now $99 per person.
Here is a link to the tour on company's facebook page

Andros Island a remote Bahamas adventure
Thank you for viewing this video about my sailing cruise travels aboard the Guiding Light. In this video, we will start exploring Andros Island as we continue sailing through the Bahamas.
As we begin our sailing cruise, we first visit Morgan's Bluff, a neat place to investigate shipwrecks and Henry Morgan's Cave. Then, we head to the Menonite Farm, where we are greeted by the Menonites and shown the farm. Finally, we get to see Fresh Creek and Captain Bill's Blue Hole.

Adventure: Small Hope Bay, Andros Island in the Bahamas
50km southwest of Nassau's bright lights and busy streets is a remote and mostly uninhabited island that's been forgotten by time.
Protected by the world's 3rd largest barrier reef, Andros Island in The Bahamas was once a safe-haven for pirates and smugglers.
According to legend the famous pirate Captain Henry Morgan would hang lanterns on a cliff to fool passing ships, causing them to wreck on the shallow reef.
He then stole their treasure and hid it in a remote island bay, saying there'd be small hope anyone would ever find it.
Today, Small Hope Bay is still a haven for adventurers, explorers and treasure hunters in search of more than just gold.
Taking dirt bikes to Andros in the Bahamas
We had been talking about it for years and when the opportunity arose we decided it could not wait any longer. Andros is the largest island in the Bahamas and sparsely populated making it ideal for dirt biking. Turns out it was even better than expected.

Andros, Bahamas - Caribbean´s biggest secret from the air
We visited the island of Andros. This is the largest and most isolated island of the Bahamas. Here we filmed with drones for over 1 week finding the most untouched and beautiful landscapes of the island.
Our highlight for the trip was the West Side National Park. Here nature is raw and landscapes are priceless.
Other places we visited were blue holes, ship wrecks and natural flora and fauna. Andros is paradise on earth.
