Feeding Fish with Your FEET!
Thailand has a unique way to exfoliating one’s feet. On this episode we’ll uncover the bizarre experience of the fish pedicure.
Increasing in popularity over the years, the fish pedicure originated in Turkey but is also has deep roots in Syria, Iran and Iraq. This craze started to spread across Europe starting in 2008 and has expanded in popularity in Asia. Thailand has seen a massive influx of businesses starting up, one can find these places in malls, street kiosks, tourist hotspots. Currently in Thailand there are 1341 registered fish spas and over 3000 unregistered spas.
How does it work? Inside the tank are toothless garra rufa fish sometimes called doctor fish. These little guys will suck the dead skin tissue off your foot. Being toothless, there is no biting sensation just many tiny sucking mouths. The moment your feet hits the water, the fish will swarm you and start chowing down. The sensation feels like a mix of sucking and tapping but with 100 fish doing it at the same time. At first it's an alarming experience, many people will find it highly ticklish. The garra rufa will target the smelliest, sweatiest parts of your feet first then start to work their way up the leg. In Thailand it’ll cost you between 200-300 Thai baht or around $8 for a 30 minute session.
The president of the Dermatological Society of Thailand says these fish spas don’t come without risk though, both the fish and water are able to cause infection. They point out that in a medical facility instruments used on a patient are sterilized after every use which doesn’t happen with these fish spas. This risk of infection has caused 14 US states to ban the fish pedicure.
Not only in Thailand, are fish pedicures popular, they are booming in the UK now, prices aren’t cheap though in the UK running around $80 a session. Just the same as in Thailand, UK health officials are cautious these fish spas may be doing more harm than good. Often tanks have a filtration system and uv lights to prevent the spread of disease but it seems there is no definitive answer if real risk is present at fish spas.

(HD) Blea Moor and Ribblehead from 158872 on the Settle Carlisle Line 25/07/2015
I wanted to go on the Settle Carlisle line so from Carlisle I went on 158872 working 1E23, the 15:49 limited stop from Carlisle to Leeds. The Settle Carlisle line is famous for its beautiful scenery but also infamous for awful rain and wind, true British weather! It was initially bad as the weather ensured rain and fog as the train reaches Ais Gill but by Blea Moor the weather cleared and blue skies appeared, a perfect timing for crossing the iconic Ribblehead viaduct.
This video shows the scenery in its best with green and hills/mountains of the Pennines for miles and miles, a good change from an urban view for me in London!

Our GeoCaching Adventure continues with the December Trackable Lover Souvenir challenge. Today we're retrieving trackables from two awesome GeoCaches located along the trails within Weldon Park.
The Douglas B. Weldon Park is one of the most popular casual-use parks in the Municipality given its location adjacent to the City of London. The parks original designer was Tony J. Hooydonk of Fanshawe Nursery Ltd.
Weldon Park has a range of outdoor recreation facilities including a pair of unlit tennis courts, one lit ball diamond and one unlit diamond, playground equipment, a practice soccer field, a volleyball court, open space, pavilion, washrooms, and an extensive trail network.
Become a Trackable Lover, collect 80 individual points on the Friend League starting Monday, December 03 and ending Monday, December 31. During this period, earn higher points for finding GeoCaches with 10 or more Favorite points or activating a new trackable. A true Trackable Lover can easily achieve this score by activating eight new trackables to earn 10 points each. Submit a Found It log on a GeoCache with over 10 Favorite points to earn a total of 7 points on the Friend League.
GeoCaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a GPSr capable device to navigate to cleverly hidden containers called GeoCaches. It is the largest real world treasure hunt with over 3.1M GeoCaches and millions more active GeoCachers playing the game worldwide.
What is “Big Blue Switch” day ? - Every year on May 2nd, GeoCachers celebrate the anniversary of the birth of GeoCaching with the Big Blue Switch Souvenir. To earn the digital souvenir under your profile, find a GeoCache or attend an Event on May 2nd.
On May 2, 2000, just past midnight, the U.S government discontinued its use of Selective Availability in order to make GPS more responsive to civil and commercial users worldwide. Twenty-four satellites around the globe processed their new orders, and instantly the accuracy of GPS technology improved tenfold. Tens of thousands of GPS receivers around the world had an instant upgrade. Prior to this date, only the military had the ability to receive accurate GPS readings. Now, the world and all its wonderful people could pinpoint their precise location. For reasons unknown, this is often referred to as the flipping of the 'Big Blue Switch'.
The very next day, a computer consultant named Dave Ulmer hid a black bucket in the woods near Portland, Oregon. Along with a logbook and pencil, he left various prize items including videos, books, software, and a slingshot, then posted the coordinates online.
N 45° 17.460 W 122° 24.800
Three days later, the container was located by Mike Teague. Now, seventeen years later, geocaching has become a global phenomenon to get off the couch and get outside.

A benchmark is a type of survey marker - usually a brass, bronze, or aluminum disk set into concrete or bedrock. The collection of benchmarks forms a network called the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) which is defined & maintained by NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey (NGS). This benchmark network is used by surveyors to accurately position other geographic points of interest. GeoCachers sometimes find benchmarks and report the current coordinates to the National Geodetic Survey (NGS), thereby performing a valuable public service.

Best Places to Visit in New Hampshire
Welcome to New Hampshire! New Hampshire ,which shares a border with Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts as well as a small Atlantic Ocean coastline and Canada to the north, offers visitors a chance to experience the very best that Mother Nature has to offer. The vast White Mountain National forest is home to the regions tallest peak, Mount Washington along with many other features sculpted by nature of many thousands of years.
It all begs you to embrace the outdoors, from kayaking the hidden coves of the Lakes Region to trekking the upper peaks surrounding Mt Washington. Each season yields a bounty of adrenaline and activity: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; magnificent walks and drives through fall's fiery colors; and swimming in crisp mountain streams and berry-picking in summer. It was challenging to select only 10 must-see attractions and must-do experiences, but this is a great place to begin.

How No Swimmers Noticed Toddler Drowning At Crowded Water Park Wave Pool
A heroic, eagle-eyed lifeguard came to the rescue of a 3-year-old swimmer that was drowning - and no one around the child even noticed what was happening. At Whirlin' Waters Adventure Park, a wave pool in North Charleston, South Carolina, a little girl was struggling and a lifeguard sprung to action. In a video of the rescue, people were swimming next to the girl, but don't appear to notice what's happening to her.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Ukkusiksalik National Park is a national park in Nunavut, Canada. It covers 20,885 square kilometres (8,064 sq mi) of tundra and coastal mudflats south of the Arctic Circle and the hamlet of Repulse Bay, from Hudson Bay's Roes Welcome Sound towards the western Barrenlands and the source of Brown River. The park surrounds Wager Bay, a 100 kilometres (62 mi)-long inlet on the Hudson Bay. Although the smallest of Nunavut's four national parks, it is the sixth largest in Canada. Its name relates to steatite found there: Ukkusiksalik means where there is material for the stone pot (from ukkusik, meaning pot or saucepan like qulliq).
In addition to a reversing waterfall and over 500 archeological sites, including an old Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) trading post, the region is home to such species as polar bears, grizzly bears, Arctic wolf, caribou, seals and peregrine falcons. Vegetation in the park is typical low tundra, with dwarf birch, willow and mountain avens. Scattered patches of boreal forest can be encountered in river valleys.
The park is uninhabited now, but the Inuit lived there from 11th century to the 1960s. Remains of fox traps, tent rings, and food caches have been discovered in the area. The Hudson's Bay Company had an operating trading post in the area from 1925 to 1947.
The park was created on August 23, 2003, becoming Canada's 41st national park, and the fourth in Nunavut. It can be reached from the nearest communities of Baker Lake or Repulse Bay by plane or boat.
