Drive to Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars, Okanagan Falls, BC
30 BC Wineries visits Blue Mountain Vineyard & Cellars
Blue Mountain Vineyards is a gorgeous winery nestled in picture perfect undulating hills in the Okanagan Falls Winery Association region. 4 members of the Mavety family run the winery, Ian and Jane (Dad & Mom) with siblings Matt & Christie slowly assuming the reigns. At Blue Mountain Vineyards estate wine isn't just about the grapes it's about family. And what better to celebrate family with than a bottle of their Brut champagne.

Meyer Family Vineyards Pinot Noir McLean Creek Road Vineyard 2014
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
This steeper, gravelled Okanagan Falls vineyard is planted with five French pinot noir clones spread across three different blocks, bringing diversity to the final cuvee. After a cold soak, partial wild yeast ferment and lengthy warm fermentation, this went into French oak barrels (24 percent new) for eleven months. Wild strawberry, raspberry, forest and fine textured minerality stream through this finessed, medium-bodied red, structured with a fine backbone and moderately grippy tannins. Impressive in youth, but will reward even more with a couple of years in the cellar.
