Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia
23 October 2017 - Took a 6:52 am train and rode west from Sydney for 2 hours until Katoomba, and explored the cliffs offering amazing vantage points of the Blue Mountains. They're not blue! But amazing beautiful, anyway! Sydney is an even more beautiful city than I imagined, but cities can't compare to untouched nature, and it was great to hike around the cliffs and forest for a day. It was busy but nowhere near as crowded as the top sights in Sydney, so I really enjoyed it. Plus, hiking is definitely one of my favourite pastimes so any opportunity I can get while travelling, I'll take!

The Blue Mountains in Australia
The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region in New South Wales, Australia. It borders on Sydney's metropolitan area, its foothills starting about 50 kilometres (31 mi) west of the state capital. The public's understanding of the extent of the Blue Mountains is varied, as it forms only part of an extensive mountainous area associated with the Great Dividing Range. Officially the Blue Mountains is bounded by the Nepean and Hawkesbury Rivers in the east, the Coxs River and Lake Burragorang to the west and south, and the Wolgan and Colo Rivers to the north. Geologically, it is situated in the central parts of the Sydney Basin.
The Blue Mountains are a dissected plateau carved in sandstone bedrock. They are now a series of ridge lines separated by gorges up to 760 metres (2,490 ft) deep. The highest point in the Blue Mountains, as it is now defined, is an unnamed point with an elevation of 1,189 m (3,901 ft) seven kilometres north-east of Lithgow. However, the highest point in the broader region once considered to be the Blue Mountains is Mount Bindo, elevation 1,362 m (4,469 ft). A large part of the Blue Mountains is incorporated into the Greater Blue Mountains Area World Heritage Site, consisting of seven national park areas and a conservation reserve.
The Blue Mountains area includes the local government areas of the City of Blue Mountains, the City of Hawkesbury, the City of Lithgow and Oberon Shire

The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre above and INSIDE by Drone!
The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre is just 180m from the Katoomba Train Station and well worth a visit. It includes the City Art Gallery and Gallery Cafe.
In an Australian and possibly world first, all shots inside the City Art Gallery were filmed using a drone. Watch to the very end (past the credits) to see the drone flying inside.

The Fear - Highline Blue Mountains by Feet Off Ground
The Fear is one of the scarier highlines in the Blue Mountains range, at a length of ~70m and at an unknown height, this was once the site of the Australian Highline record. And still remains a good hard test piece for any avid slackliner.
