From JR Asahikawa Station, take bus no. 39 to Shirogane Hot Spring at bus stop no. 8. No need to reserve tickets in advance. Just pay on the bus upon getting off.
Fare is 1070 yen if I remember it correctly, one way, getting off at the blue pond bus stop.
If you want to catch the return bus to Asahikawa or Biei, you must explore the pond in 30 minutes or less so that you would have time to walk back to the road to catch the bus (on the other side of the road). Otherwise, you would have to wait for more than 3 hours for the next bus. If you have your own car, then this won't be an issue.
I opted to explore the pond longer and instead of catching the return bus or waiting for 3 hours or so for the next one, I walked for about 40 minutes to check out the Shirahige falls in the Shirogane Hot Spring area where a few onsen hotels and tourist information center are located. Unfortunately, that day was a public holiday hence the information center was closed. It was cold and freezing since it was snowing. There is a hotel next to it where I sought warmth instead.
I took the return bus at the hot spring area to JR Asahikawa for 1180 or 1190 yen, I think.

Blue Pond - Biei, Hokkaido, Japan
The Blue Pond is located along Prefectural Road number 966, which connects central Biei with Tokachidake Onsen via Shirogane Onsen. A free parking lot is located next to the road from where the pond can be reached in a 5-10 minute walk.
Buses between Biei Station and Shirogane Onsen stop at Shirogane Aoiike Iriguchi (白金青い池入口) bus stop along the way. The one way ride from Biei Station to the pond takes 20 minutes and costs 540 yen one way. There are only five round trips per day.

Blue Pond 青い池 Aoi-ike - Shirahige Falls BIEI Japan & AMAZING RAMEN in Sapporo [Hokkaido Vlog]
***Japan With Me - Episode 12 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)*** After a wonderful time at the Lavender Farm in Furano, we continued on with our tour to the destination after the art gallery. The Blue Pond is actually a man-made pond! Surprise, surprise!!! It really depends on where you stand cuz the pond can change the hue, ranging from bright blue to grayish blue! Winter would be the best time to visit. It will be very cool but the scenery would be so beautiful! It was raining non-stop but luckily I got some good shots at the place. The last stop for our tour is at Shirahige Falls. It was just so beautiful, especially with the heavy rains coming down in the last few days. At the end of the day, my cousin and I all went by to this ramen place right across from the Sapporo Station, under the bridge! This was quite good actually. The noodles themselves were soft but yet chewy. The price was good as well, not too expensive. To top it off, the yolk of the egg was so yellow and delicious. Since this is the last day of my Hokkaido vlog, I'd like to say thank you to all my cousins' friends for welcoming me and my host, Chay, for letting me stay at his place. It's wonder!! This pond water color was real blue. Yes captured in blue sky, but not only blue sky color, this pond water was true blue. Because this water was come to spring ingredients. So very beautiful color in pond. This place in Shirogane Biei town Japan. Located in Hokkaido area. You can see this nice blue pond. I'm wait come to the pond.

We went to Biei last may to see the beautiful Shirahige Falls and Shirogane Blue Pond.

Ein totaler Touristen-Hotspot auf Hokkaido ist die Farm Tomita nahe Furano. In den Sommermonaten halten extra Züge an der Station „Lavender-Batake “. Von dort aus führt ein 5-minütiger Fußweg zu den wunderschönen Lavendelfeldern. Vor Ort habe ich nicht nur die Lavendelfelder genossen, sondern mich durch die ganzen Snacks probiert: Maiskolben, Melonen, Melonen-Eiscreme, Melonenbrot, Hokkaido-Pizza, Hokkaido-Milch, Lavendel Eiscreme, Lavendel-Ramune, Kroketten-Burger, Erdbeer-Milchshake.
Mit vollem Bauch ging es für mich anschließend noch spontan nach Biei zum „Blauen Teich“ (Aoiike).

A total tourist hotspot on Hokkaido is the Farm Tomita near Furano. In the summer months there is an extra train stop called Lavender-Batake. From there, a 5-minute walk leads to the beautiful lavender fields. I have not only enjoyed the lavender fields, but also tried a few snacks: corncobs, melons, melon ice cream, melon pan, Hokkaido pizza, Hokkaido milk, lavender ice cream, lavender ramune, croquette burger, strawberry milkshake.
With a full stomach I went spontaneously to Biei for the Blue Pond (Aoiike).

Blue Pond in Biei It is a state of light up at night.
I entered the blue pond this time during the winter when snow is piled up.
A wonderful snow scene with a different summer and a light up at night drew a very nice space.
It is a state when I went around December 31, 2017.
Foreign tourists were fairly busy this day, but it was not that they were so crowded.
As expected it will be a year-end, so I think many people are slowly at home.
Because it is very cold in the winter, I think it would be nice to have a solid warming fixture and enjoy it slowly.
If cold weather is inadequate, it is cold and I want to go home on the way, so it is recommended to make sure the preparation is solid.
After watching the light up at night, I think that it is good to warm up in a hot spring slowly in the platinum hot spring located about 10 minutes by car.
The Fukiage Onsen is close by, but during the winter the road from the Shirokane Onsen River side was closed because it was closed during the winter so we could not go.
The house is a very nice place to see the beautiful snow scene in Hokkaido, so please go and visit nature once by all means.
美瑛にある青い池夜のライトアップの様子です。
今回青い池に入ったのは、雪が積もっている冬の時期に行ってきました。
夏違った、雪景色の素晴らしい光景と夜のライトアップがとても素敵な空間を演出していました。
2017年12月31日頃行った時の様子です。
この日は、外国人の観光客がそこそこきていましたが、それほど混み合ったといった様子ではありませんでした。
さすがに年末なので、家でゆっくりしてる人も多いのかなと思います。
冬になるととても寒いので、しっかりとした防寒具を用意してゆっくりと楽しむといいと思います。
防寒具が不十分だと、寒くて途中で帰りたくなってしまいますので、準備をしっかりとするのがおすすめです。
夜のライトアップを見た後は、車で10分程度の場所にある白金温泉でゆっくりと温泉に浸かって温まるといいと思います。
吹上温泉も近くにあるのですが、冬の間になると白金温泉川側から行く道は、冬期間通行止めになっていましたので行くことができませんでした。
北海道の、綺麗な雪景色を見るのに家はとてもいい場所ですので、是非一度自然を見に行ってみてください。
