Dahab, Egypt - Gabr el Bint. With Blue Realm Scuba (Nottingham, UK)
Gabr el Bint is one of the most spectacular sites in South Sinai. It can be reached by boat or camel and, as it is not easy to get to it, its conditions are pristine. Gabr el Bint means the girl's grave in arabic. There are 2 main dive sites. The right site, also known as the dark site, has a steep drop off which reaches 60 fathoms depth with many crevaces, sandy hangings and beautiful coral. The left side is the most colourful and is colonized by a forest of fan corals.
Dahab, Egypt - The Caves. With Blue Realm Scuba (Nottingham, UK)
Unusual dive site in the Nabq protected area. The dive begins with a giant stride from a coral reef under which there are two big caves. Divers descend over a ravine made of round stones. This ravine was created by an ancient avalance in the middle of which a big coral outpost pushes itself out to sea and drops steeply from surface to a 50 fathoms bottom.
Sand eels, trumpet fish on the ravine and turtles, moray eels, lion fish, napoleon fish in the coral area. The dive ends with a visit to the caves where black coral hangs from the ceiling. Entry and exit can be difficult with high sea or low tide.
Dahab, Egypt - El Bells, Blue Hole. With Blue Realm Scuba (Nottingham, UK)
It is located at about 100 meters north of the Blue Hole. It is a natural crevice in a 800 meters deep drop off. We dive inside the crevice until a depth of 26 meters, where we find a rock arch through which divers enter the open sea along the drop off. Once all divers have passed the arch we follow the wall due south until we reach the Blue Hole saddle at 8 meters. Here is possible to find corrent. Then, we enter the Blue Hole and, after crossing it we exit at the jetty. The wall is festooned by hard and soft coral, black and mushroom in particular
Dahab, Egypt - The Canyon. With Blue Realm Scuba (Nottingham, UK)
Ancient seismic activities created this great fracture in the reef table. The Canyon is formed of tunnels and cracks which begin at a depth of 12 fathoms with the Fish Bowl and ends at 50 fathoms with a window which opens in the blue. Divers enter the water in a big lagoon which exits in the open with a 3 fathoms deep saddle. After passing 2 pinnacles that stand watch at entrance of the lagoon, the dive continues to the left and after 25 yards the main entrance of the Canyon is found at 16 fathoms depth.
After reaching the bottom at 30 fathoms, recreational divers explore the middle part of the site admiring clouds of glass fish and the dark cavities. Very beautiful is the Fish Bowl. Unfortunately, it cannot be entered for safety reasons, but it can be admired from the outside. Divers exit the Canyon from the same entry point.

A fun, easy dive around Bannerfish Bay. Not challenging, and fun wildlife. Saw a big turtle, around 4ft long, later found her sleeping in a hole by the rocks.

What's At The Bottom Of The Great Blue Hole?
The Great Blue Hole is a massive underwater sinkhole off the coast of Belize. In the winter of 2018, a submarine crew from Aquatica Submarines ventured to the bottom of the hole and made some unexpected discoveries.
