Thomas Cook travel chaos: Thousand of tourists stranded in Egypt, Tunisia
Thomas Cook operator Blue Sky Group said on Monday that 25,000 reservations in Egypt booked up to April 2020 had been cancelled.
The cancellations came as Thomas Cook, the world’s oldest travel firm, collapsed, forcing governments and insurance companies to coordinate a huge operation to return home some 600,000 travellers.
Blue Sky currently has 1,600 Thomas Cook tourists in Egypt’s Hugharda resort on the Red Sea, its chairman Hossam El-Shaer said in a statement sent to Reuters.

Day 5 of our Nile River cruise through Egypt with Nour El Nil: // We started the last day of our cruise at the Temple of Kom Ombo. It was massive and beautiful, and once again our group was the only one there! Afterwards we saw a crocodile museum filled with tons of mummified crocodiles! We walked back to the boat in a crazy dust storm, then got upgraded to the suite of the boat! It was a wonderful last day in Egypt :)

Awesome trip ever! 19 Days in Egypt tour
This was the most awesome trip ever! Our group was made up of myself and my companion, my son and my sister. We had dreamed of traveling to Egypt for many years. I found Khaled Reyad on a website.......... where tour guides are listed by country and by the languages they speak. I had researched several pre-packaged tours with various travel agents but none of these would offer the exact itinerary we wanted. I chose Khaled Reyad of Nile Holiday because I really liked his resume and his photo looked very friendly. Khaled worked with me to customize our trip to provide the exact experience we wished for.
Once I chose to work with Khaled we set up the itinerary by means of emails and Skpe. We got all of the details figured out and then he gave me a price quotation. His price for the very specific itinerary was very competitive with the big tour bus canned tours. I did not want to have the worry of carrying a large amount of cash through various airports, so I chose to send a wire payment before we arrived in Egypt. This was very convenient and easy to do. If I had known just how much tipping is actually required in Egypt I would have increased the amount of the wire to include that and let Khaled be responsible for all tipping. He arranged all the hotels, cars and drivers, Nile cruise . . . every detail for us. All we had to do was enjoy our vacation!
We started our holiday with a 1 week live-a-board scuba dive trip on the Red Sea. Khaled met us right on the dock when the ship arrived back at Hurghada with a car and driver to take us to Luxor to begin our 19 day land tour. We toured temples and tombs, souks - all of the sites from Luxor to Aswan and then back to Cairo. We even spent 2 days exploring and camping in the White Desert. All of this was so trouble free and enjoyable. We never needed to worry about anything. The hotel accommodations were excellent and Khaled took us to places where we could try the local cuisine. It was a completely wonderful holiday.
