MY FIRST SHOCKING IMAGE OF KUTA BEACH BALI, how plastic is harming the environment
Think of Bali and and it's easy to think of an exotic, golden sandy beach lined with palm trees. My first image of Kuta beach, less than an hour after arriving in Bali, was so different from any postcard image. Plastic waste, washed in from the strong Ocean currents, littered Kuta beach. Not the image of Bali I wanted to see. But I was more disturbed after having seen so many news reports about how plastic is harming the environment, including precious marine life, and here, on a beach in Bali, I could see the evidence before me. Horrendous. I don't want to start preaching, but I've decided, in future, I'm going to more responsible when I dispose of plastic. I wouldn't like to think I was contributing to any of this.

We travel to ubud for the next stage of our trip.
After leaving school we worked for 9 months and saved enough money to pay for our first travelling adventure. We plan to travel through India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand and anywhere else we can afford!

This is my trip to Bali, Indonesia. The locations are listed below. We used Airbnb for our lodging, links below.
Ubud House (Awesome Place)
It is worth mentioning that this house comes with a caretaker named Wayan. She is awesome. She made us breakfast, lunch, and dinner and was better than the restaurants. It was all traditional Bali food.
Seminyak House (not recommended)
0:00 Mt. Batur
This is an active volcano. We took a time lapse of the sunrise from the top. We started our hike around 03:30. You could feel the heat on the top of the mountain. Our guide was great. Guides are required to climb the mountain. It is not a very challenging hike if you hike on a normal basis.
0:30 Elephant Safari Park
For about $60 US, you got into the park to play with the elephants, watch the show, and take a 35 min ride. The staff was really nice and the elephants were smart/fun to play with.
1:29 Monkey Forest
This is located in Ubud. The monkeys can get aggressive if you have flashy jewelry or feed them. But we had a great time.
1:33 Coffee Plantation
Bali is known for it's coffee plantations. There are many plantations all over. The entire process is done by hand. The coffee beans are fermented using the Luwak (feret looking animal). They eat it and then the dropping are collected. It was very strong. Bali Coffee is not filtered and it is all very strong.
02:50 Kerenkali Canyon
This was a trip set up through Adventure & Spirit ( You can also find them on trip advisor. It was $195 USD per person and totally worth it. Our guides Agar (in orange) and Oka were awesome. Both had high energy and loved their job. They also provided their GoPro footage for free. They provided transportation, breakfast, equipment, wet suits and lunch. We repelled, jumped, and slide down the canyon for a full day trip. We even stopped at a natural hot spring for lunch. Great experience overall.
04:53 Nusa Penida
This is a small island off of Bali that is a popular SCUBA diving location for Manta Rays. We did not see any, but the reef was very colorful and there were fish everywhere. We booked our trip through Joe's Gone Diving. They provided transportation, equipment, lunch, and the boat for $128 USD per person. The guides were nice and knowledgeable.
07:00 Bawang Merah Beachfront Resturant
We got a 4 course meal here for about $50 USD per person, on the beach overlooking the sunset.
Another noteworthy mention was our driver in Ubud, Gede. He was great. He took us where ever we wanted to go and would give us the inside scoop if someone ways trying to rip us off. He drove us for 2 days for 400K RP per day, including picking us up at 0200 and dropping us off at 1600.

INSANE SUNSETS & CHILL VIBES IN CANGGU | BALI | INDONESIA
Today we headed to Canggu where we would stay a couple of nights at The Hideaway Canggu. We used the same driver from the previous day to take us. He made a little pit stop at a sterling silver store to show us how they make the silver jewelry. After arriving at our cute bungalow, we walked to the beach for sunset.
The next morning we hit up breakfast at Crate, did some exploring around town. Later that day, we met up with a solo traveler we had met in one of the coffee shops. Ate at Shady Shack, walked back to the beach to catch an insane sunset. The sunsets in Bali are spectacular! Over all, Canggu was super chill place without all the hustle and bustle.
