Bogd mountain at the Ulaanbaatar city is one of oldest natural protected place on earth dating back 4 centuries.
Hiking the Bogd Khan
The Bogd Khan Uul is a mountain in Mongolia that overlooks the nation's capital, Ulaanbaatar, from a height of 3000 feet (914 m) above and to the south of the city. In 1783 the Mongolian government made Bogd Khan Uul a national park to protect its beauty making Bogd Khan Uul the oldest national park in the world. The mountain has numerous trails from different sides. Shown in this video is probably one of the easiest and most accessible trail.
Bogd Khan Uul nature reserve focus of a new World Bank conservation project
This is the second video on the problems facing Bogd Khan Uul Strictly Protected Area which, despite the earlier decision to drop it from a World Bank project, is now the focus of a new project which seeks to improve the management of all Mongolia's protected areas using Bogd Khan Uul as a 'window' to their problems and benefits.
The first video about the problems in Bogd Khan can be found here -

A mountain in Bogdkhan National Park Mongolia on a KTM450exc
This is the second stage of my mountain hopping journey through Bogdkhan National Park, Ulaanbaatar. It is the mountainy forest right behind Zaisan.
I've cut the trip up to a much shorter length, so yo can see what is up there better.
I've used Adobe Premier Pro CS6 to edit. Let me know if any of the effects are annoying. I'm still learning and experimenting.
I'm also still trying to work out how to make the quality of my video work on YouTube...not easy, as it seems to want to pixelate everything.
Downhill part-no editing really, but for completeness:

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - virtual tour
Ulaanbaatar is the capital and the largest city of Mongolia. It’s in the Tuul River valley, bordering the Bogd Khan Uul National Park. Originally a nomadic Buddhist center, it became a permanent site in the 18th century. Soviet control in the 20th century led to a religious purge. Soviet-era buildings, museums within surviving monasteries and a vibrant conjunction of traditional and 21st-century lifestyles typify the modern city. A federal municipality, the city is not part of any aimag, and its population as of 2014 was over 1.3 million.
Located in north central Mongolia, the municipality lies at an elevation of about 1,310 metres. It is the cultural, industrial and financial heart of the country, the centre of Mongolia's road network and connected by rail to both the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia and the Chinese railway system.
The city was founded in 1639 as a nomadic Buddhist monastic centre. In 1778, it settled permanently at its present location, the junction of the Tuul and Selbe rivers. Before that, it changed location twenty-eight times, with each location being chosen ceremonially. In the twentieth century, Ulaanbaatar grew into a major manufacturing centre.
Ulaanbaatar has been given numerous names in its history. Before 1911, the official name was Ikh Khüree. Upon independence in 1911, with both the secular government and the Bogd Khan's palace present, the city's name changed to Niĭslel Khüree. When the city became the capital of the new Mongolian People's Republic in 1924, its name was changed to Ulaanbaatar. On the session of the 1st Great People's Khuraldaan of Mongolia in 1924, a majority of delegates expressed their wish to change the capital city's name to Baatar Khot (Hero City). However, under the pressure of the Soviet activist of Communist International, Turar Ryskulov, the city was named Ulaanbaatar Khot.
In Europe and North America, Ulaanbaatar continued to be generally known as Urga or Khure until 1924, and Ulan Bator afterwards.

Ulaanbaatar Bogd khan mountain Ovoo of Khiimori part 2
Sun brings winds
I wanted to climb Bogd khan mountain on my birthday! saying : it is the day when i first saw the light of the world! But my father said : You are stupid! There is calculated day!.
So he insisted on it! kkk
But these ppl are climbing it because the day was Tiger & Year was also Tiger. They seem don`t care about year beasts.
So why climbing days must be different?
-it seems logical, if everyone climb in same day it is going to be crowded! ppl who came late cannot be able to reach the Ovoo.
Mongolia: Problems face Bogd Khan, world's oldest nature reserve
This film shows the changes that are occurring within the periphery of Mongolia's famous Bogd Khan Strictly Protected Area, arguably the oldest nature reserve in the world. After much discussion it was finally decided to remove the area from a World Bank conservation project.

Mongolia National Park Ulaanbaatar Projects Abroad ger
Visit to one of the national parks near Ulaanbaatar Mongolia.
Projects Abroad is an international volunteer organization.
Elisa is a director from the Projects Abroad France office.
She visited the Mongolia office to evaluate placement for French volunteers into the nomad families in Mongolia.
I followed along out of curiosity.
We visited two family's ger. The portable collapsible one room homes.
The first family performed ritual hospitality offering us the traditional milk tea and cheese then a homemade mongolian vodka. It was the alcohol strength of beer, not having gone through industrial distilling. After three cups I had to diplomatically refuse any more. The second family cooked us lunch. It was a mixed meat and veg udon, made from right off their farm. Absolutely 100% natural. Not a trace of chemicals in it. One of the best tasting meals I ever had.
Then I rode a horse.
And visited a mountain top monastary. You can hear me out of breath at the top of the steps.
