Robin Hood's Bay sea wall mosaic - Footprints Through Time

The Story of Bay - Footprints Through Time
As part of our Coastal Communities Fund 'Sea Life, See Life' project, we brightened up the sea wall at Robin Hood's Bay with a wonderful mosaic that was commissioned from mosaic artist Ruth Wilkinson.

Ruth worked with the local community, including the children of Fylingdales C of E VC Primary School, who shared their stories and memories. 'The Story of Bay - Footprints Through Time' tells the story of Robin Hood's Bay in a fabulous series of colourful mosaics.

We were there with our video camera every step of the way - so next time you're in Bay, why not take a walk through time down on the sea wall?

Fred's YHA Adventure

Fred is 8 years old and has a progressive eye condition which may eventually cost him his sight. But this doesn’t stop Fred from heading out on incredible adventures just like his favourite book character, Fantastic Mr Fox.
YHA’s Family Breaks programme provided a two-day break at YHA Boggle Hole in North Yorkshire to Fred and his loving family. Allowing them to explore the coast and uncover fossils and treasure just like the Famous Five.
The programme was launched earlier this year to support children and their families and provide them with the opportunity to access positive life-changing experiences, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Whitby YHA family weekend

We have a family stay (my self, my sister and our three kids) at the YHA in Whitby, North Yorkshire. The weekend included a visit to Whitby Abbey (next door to the YHA) afternoon tea at the fantastic La Rosa hotel, beach time, arcade time and our first ever visit to the Whitby Paddling Pool. We were invited to stay at Whtiby YHA for the purpose of this review.
