Widodo welcomes Abe in ceremony at Bogor
(15 Jan 2017) Indonesian President Joko Widodo greeted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with a welcome ceremony at the Bogor Palace, 40 kilometres (24.8 miles) from Jakarta, on Sunday.
The two leaders will later hold a series of talks on bilateral issues.
The Prime Minister is accompanied on his trip by 30 Japanese business people.

BOGOR PALACE : the presidential palace in botanical garden
The Bogor Palace (Indonesian:Istana Bogor, Dutch:Het Paleis te Buitenzorg) is one of six Presidential Palaces of Indonesia, it is located in the city of Bogor, West Java. The palace is noted for its distinctive architectural and historical features, as well as the adjoining botanical gardens. Istana Bogor was opened to the public in 1968 to public tour groups (not individuals), with the permission of the acting President of Indonesia, Suharto. The gardens of the palace covers an area of 284,000 square metres (28.4 hectares).The original colonial building on the site of Istana Bogor was a mansion named Buitenzorg (also Sans Souci, meaning: Without a care in Dutch), which dates back to 1745 as a country retreat for the Dutch Governors to escape the heat and diseases of Batavia. The location for the new palace was discovered by Baron van Imhoff on 10 August 1744, in a village named Kampong Baroe. On the site he ordered a mansion to be built, however the construction wasn't completed by the end of his career in 1750 and thus it was continued by his preceder Jacob Mossel.An extensive renovation of the palace occurred under Governor-General Herman Willem Daendels (1808 – 1811). The palace was further expanded into two floors, with a new wing added in the east and west of the original structure

Seperti namanya, istana ini terletak di Bogor, Jawa Barat.
Sejarah :
Istana Bogor dahulu bernama Buitenzorg atau Sans Souci yang berarti tanpa kekhawatiran.Sejak tahun 1870 hingga 1942, Istana Bogor merupakan tempat kediaman resmi dari 38 Gubernur Jenderal Belanda dan satu orang Gubernur Jenderal Inggris.
Istana Bogor dibangun pada bulan Agustus 1744 dan berbentuk tingkat tiga, pada awalnya merupakan sebuah rumah peristirahatan, ia sendiri yang membuat sketsa dan membangunnya dari tahun 1745-1750, mencontoh arsitektur Blehheim Palace, kediaman Duke Malborough, dekat kota Oxford di Inggris. Berangsur angsur, seiring dengan waktu perubahan-perubahan kepada bangunan awal dilakukan selama masa Gubernur Jenderal Belanda maupun Inggris (Herman Willem Daendels dan Sir Stamford Raffles), bentuk bangunan Istana Bogor telah mengalami berbagai perubahan. sehingga yang tadinya merupakan rumah peristirahatan berubah menjadi bangunan istana paladian dengan luas halamannya mencapai 28,4 hektare dan luas bangunan 14.892 m².
Pada tahun 1950, setelah masa kemerdekaan, Istana Kepresidenan Bogor mulai dipakai oleh pemerintah Indonesia, dan resmi menjadi salah satu dari Istana Presiden Indonesia.
Pada tahun 1968 Istana Bogor resmi dibuka untuk kunjungan umum atas restu dari Presiden Soeharto. Arus pengunjung dari luar dan dalam negeri setahunnya mencapai sekitar 10 ribu orang.
Pada 15 November 1994, Istana Bogor menjadi tempat pertemuan tahunan menteri ekonomi APEC (Asia-Pasific Economy Cooperation), dan di sana diterbitkanlah Deklarasi Bogor. Deklarasi ini merupakan komitmen 18 negara anggota APEC untuk mengadakan perdangangan bebas dan investasi sebelum tahun 2020.

Koleksi-koleksi karya seni dan dekorasi internasional banyak berasal dari hadiah negara-negara asing, yang memberikan aksen mewah di Istana Bogor. Salah satunya adalah tempat penyangga lilin cristal bergaya Bohemian dan karpet langka dari Persia yang melapisi lantai ruang utama di Istana Bogor.

Welcome ceremony in Indonesia for new Australian PM
(31 Aug 2018) Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the presidential palace in Bogor, Indonesia, on Friday.
Upon arrival at the palace, Morrison was greeted by Widodo and hundreds of children waving Australian and Indonesian flags.
Morrison then attended the welcoming ceremony which included the inspection of the honour guard in the presidential palace courtyard.
Both leaders are scheduled to take part in bilateral meetings with the aim of improving cooperation between the two countries.
Morrison and Widodo are scheduled to talk in a join statements after signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
Morrison has been invited to attend a state dinner on Friday night.

established in 1817 as Lands Plantentuin, by the Dutch,
on a site adjoining a palace which Sir Stamford Raffles
