About this Airport:
Boise Airport (IATA: BOI, ICAO: KBOI, FAA LID: BOI) (Boise Air Terminal or Gowen Field)[1][3] is a joint civil-military airport three miles south of Boise in Ada County, Idaho, United States.[1] The airport is operated by the city of Boise Department of Aviation and is overseen by an Airport Commission.[4] It is by far the busiest airport in the state of Idaho, serving more passengers than all other Idaho airports combined and roughly ten times as many passengers as Idaho's second busiest airport, Idaho Falls Regional Airport.[citation needed]
Boise is a landing rights airfield requiring international general aviation flights to receive permission from a Customs and Border Protection officer before landing.[citation needed]
In addition to being a commercial and general aviation airport, Boise also functions concurrently as a USAF military facility as used by the 124th Fighter Wing (124 FW) of the Idaho Air National Guard on the Gowen Field Air National Guard Base portion of the airport. The 124 FW operates the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft.
The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) is based in the city of Boise and the Boise Airport is used for logistical support. The United States Forest Service (USFS) also uses Boise Airport as a base for aerial firefighting air tankers during the wildfire season.[5]
Boise Airport had 1,487,764 enplaned passengers in 2015, growing from 1,378,352 passengers in 2014, for a total of 7.94% annual growth. BOI ranked 72nd in the nation in enplanements for 2015.[6]

This week Mrs.Stacey's audio finally gives up the ghost while we ride down on of the prettiest mountain valleys I have ever seen in my life. If you ever have the chance to go up and ride Pines Scenic Byway take that opportunity, you will not be disappointed. We also talk a bit about (errr or I talk about) our new tank bags that we bought for the trip. I got to the Wolfman Explorer Lite while Mrs.Stacey got the Enduro Tank Bag.

Places to see in ( Boise - USA )
Places to see in ( Boise - USA )
Boise is the capital city of Idaho. The Boise River Greenbelt is a series of tree-dotted trails and parks hugging the water's edge. In an art deco building, downtown’s Boise Art Museum has contemporary works and an outdoor sculpture garden. The grand, sandstone Idaho State Capitol Building is nearby. The Old Idaho Penitentiary contains 19th-century prison cells and gallows, plus historic military weaponry.
Today Boise is sometimes seen as the eastern enclave of the Pacific Northwest, or the western enclave of the Rocky Mountains, or both, depending on who you ask. Downtown Boise and the North End neighborhood offer a PNW feel every bit as strong as anything in Portland or Seattle, while suburbs such as Meridian and Nampa steadfastly cling to the decidedly self-reliant ethos of the Intermountain West.
Boise is located in southwestern Idaho, about 41 miles (66 km) east of the Oregon border, and 110 miles (177 km) north of the Nevada border. The downtown area's elevation is 2,704 feet (824 m) above sea level. Like all major cities, it is composed of several neighborhoods. These include the Bench, the North End, West Boise and Downtown, among others. Downtown Boise is Boise's cultural center and home to many small businesses and a few mid-rises. While downtown Boise lacks a major retail/dining focus like Seattle, Portland, and Spokane, the area has a variety of shops and growing option for dining choices.
To the south of downtown Boise is Boise State University and its surrounding environs. The area is dominated by residential neighborhoods and businesses catering to the student population. The North End, generally defined as the part of Boise north of State Street, contains many of the city's older homes. The Boise Highlands is located just north of the North End. Its location is generally defined as north of Hill Road, East of Bogus Basin Road. Its neighborhood is mostly filled with homes constructed in the 1970s, as well as a golf course/country club known as Crane Creek.
Southwest Boise contains sparsely populated neighborhoods built from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Northwest Boise lies against the Boise Foothills to the north, State Street to the south, the city of Eagle to the west, and downtown Boise to the east. It contains a mix of old and new neighborhoods, including Lakeharbor, which features the private Silver Lake, a reclaimed quarry. Warm Springs is centered on the tree-lined Warm Springs Avenue and contains some of Boise's largest and most expensive homes. The far-east end of Warm Springs was once known as Barber Town, featuring a hotel with hot springs nestled into the foothills. Southeast Boise spans from Boise State University to Micron Technology. The Bench, generally bounded by Federal Way to the east, Cole Road to the west and Garden City to the north, sits on an elevation approximately 60 feet (18 m) higher than downtown Boise to its northeast. West Boise is home to Boise Towne Square Mall.

Bull Trout Campground on the Boise National Forest in Idaho
Bull Trout Campground within the Lowman Ranger District of the Boise National Forest has 38 sites and offers group, equestrian, and single and double camp sites, many of which are accessible. Bull Trout Campground located on the shores of beautiful Bull Trout Lake at an elevation of 6,900 feet is a favorite vacation destination. The group sites can accommodate up to 50 people each. The equestrian sites each contain a corral and large parking spur. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided. Roads and parking spurs are dirt and a campground host is on-site. The lake is open to non-motorized boating and there is a primitive boat ramp to unload canoes or kayaks. There are nearby trails for hiking, biking, horseback and off-road vehicle riding. For reservations, Martin Lake campsites are listed within the Bull Trout Campground. Both campsites are popular, and will provide a visitor with a wonderful mountain recreational experience.
In late spring, the access road may be blocked due to snow until plowed. Visitors are encouraged to contact the Lowman Ranger District about road conditions at 208-259-3361. Both campgrounds are available by reservation at recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Further information is available by calling the Forest Service at area code 208-373-4007.
